Thanks For Your Service

I fell in love with the simplicity of this patriotic card that I found on the Just Give Me Stamps blog.  I would like to thank Laurie Schmidlin for sharing today’s inspiration with us.  We can never say Thank You enough to our service men and women for all they do for our country.

Thanks For Your Service

This card has a lot of texture which really makes it pop it out.  To make this card, Laurie used Kraft Core Core’dinations cardstock.  Stamping the background, she used a star stamp, making firework images.  Cut out approximately a 3″  circle in green Kraft Core Core’dinations cardstock and emboss it with Tim Holtz “Rays” embossing folder. Cut out a star using the same paper.  Cut three strips from the Kraft Core Core’dinations cardstock in deep red.  Distress all pieces.   Cut out a 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ square and distress it, then use the sentiment “Thanks for your service”  from Paper Smooches Circle of Honor set.  To finish it off add some twine and an embossed dotted edge around the card base.

Creativity involves in breaking out of your traditional style.  Take a look at your project in a different way, and never hesitate to try something new.
