Summer Voyage

With the winter season behind us, I thought you might enjoy a nice summer/ocean inspired project.   I fell in love with the beautiful blue & green colors combined with the rustic nautical stamps & embellishments.  Perfect for those summer layouts & or cards.

Sizzling Summer Sea Shore

Jennie Atkinson, author of the Live The Dream Blog, covered the tag with bits & pieces of scrim, net, muslin and lace (all stuck down with Claudine Hellmuth Mixed Medium) and then she covered the whole tag with gesso.

When it had dried overnight Jennie sprayed it first with Gingersnap Smooch Spritz here & there.

Then she sprayed the tag with Glimmer Mist Seven Seas and a little Sprout. Jennie then dry brushed a bit of gesso over the top once it had all dried to soften the colors a bit. Instead of trying to stamp over all the yummy textures on this tag Jennie decided not to stamp directly on the tag but to stamp these lovely Tim Holtz stamps onto tissue paper with Staz On Midnight Blue Ink and than layered the pieces carefully over the top with Claudine Hellmuth Mixed Medium which completed the gorgeous background.

A Dusty Attic anchor with a bit of copper embossing powder & some fun turquoise shells were the perfect embellishments  for this seaside themed tag.

It’s time to break out your own treasures that you’ve collected from your beach travels & have fun creating your own unique tag.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit & I hope you have a very creative day.
