Freebie Friday – Hobby Holster

Hobby Holster

Happy Friday Scrapbook Expo friends!

I hope you have all had a fabulous week. I sure have. Yesterday I had the chance to meet one of my very best friends for the first time. This may sound strange, but we met online a number of years ago through business circles. When I got sick and was hospitalized out of the blue, she reached out to me and was an amazing source of support. You see she is a three time cancer survivor and knew just what to say when I was tired and scared and sick yet again. I was extremely lucky in that my test results showed everything was benign but during all those long chats we had, a very real, very genuine friendship formed. We have spent hours, probably hundreds of hours becoming amazing friends. The only catch is that she lives in southern California and I live in Ontario, Canada so we had not had the chance to meet in person. When I recently found out that her family would be traveling to New York for a family reunion, my kids and I decided that we would go on an adventure and drive wherever she and her family were going to be. So it happened. Yesterday I got to meet my good friend Heidi in person. It was totally surreal and as wonderful as we all expected. The two families got along like we have all known each other forever. I bet I will be coasting on happiness for weeks (or months) to come!

Enough about me, I cannot wait to tell you about this amazing new tool called the Hobby Holster. What exactly is a Hobby Holster you ask? It is a silicone holder that is heat resistant up to 400F. Do you know what this means? This awesome little tool can hold your hot tools such as a glue gun and, any glue that drips onto the silicone peels right off once it has cooled. No more burns as you try to get your glue gun to sit properly, more like balanced on your desk surface. No more worrying about your glue gun getting knocked off your desk before it has cooled. Place your hot glue gun into the opening and leave it until you need it next or until it has cooled enough to be put away. How cool is that!

Hobby Holster

One of the coolest things about the Hobby Holster is that it clings to any smooth surface. Not matter where you are working, you can attach the Hobby Holster and work away.  It is super easy to attach.  All you need to do is lift up the flap and press it onto any smooth, clean surface.

Hobby Holster

Once you have the Hobby Holster in place, you can fill it with whatever you like. Whether you want to use it to hold  the markers you are colouring with, or your glue gun and glue sticks, this holder will stick to your desk and keep your supplies close at hand.

  77. September Whisenant says:

I dread using the glue gun because it oozes as it is heating up and makes a mess and takes up valuable real estate on my work area both while both heating up and cooling down. This looks it would a solution to both of those problems so I’ve got my fingers crossed that I am the lucky winner.

  78. Wendy Carella says:

I’ve been looking at this nifty little holster for weeks deciding if I should purchase one. My husband swears I love to collect scrapbook items more than actually making pages. Instead of giving him the satisfaction of teasing me again I’ll keep my fingers crossed and hope to just win one. Good Luck everyone.

Thanks for the giveaway!

  81. Jodi Wussler says:

  83. Val says:

  84. Hermelinda says:

Oh my goodness. I really need this . My workspace is really tight and this fits! and would save me workspace. Great Idea!

  85. Phyllis says:

Love this “Holster”. Great idea. Thanks for the chance to win one of my own.
Love your web site. Thanks for all the info.

  86. Tammy Whitley says:

WOW!! I adore my glue gun but apparently my glue gun and I have a love hate relationship. Its perfect and it loves me to use it, but it gets angry with me when I use it when it has been sleeping, so it burns my fingers and my hands and whatever else it can drop it’s sticky gooey hot perfection on. As I said it’s a love hate relationship, because I keep using it. I love to use it but I hate getting burned. So I think the holster would save my “skin” literally and make my glue gun behave, even when I wake it up from it’s sweet slumber.

  87. Pamela Daniel says:

I’d love to have one of these, even when I’m not using my hot glue gun! What a nifty little tool! Sure would be handy to hold whatever crafty thing I’m working with at the moment- from pens and pencil to paintbrushes and tubes of paint.

  88. sharon L says:

I can see more than one use for this. I also like to stitch and sew. For cross stitching I would love to use it to hold scissors, needle threader, needle roll, floss, etc. When sewing I can put my scissors in there. I could place thread snippits in there too. No more threads laying about on the floor or clinging to fabrics. Want!

  89. JEANNA says:

Having just hot glued a ton of jute onto milk bottles, the holster would have been a great help. I’m in the middle of DIYing my daughters wedding, and I am sure I would be able to get alot of use out of it. THANKS for the chanve to win….

  90. Stacy Glatt says:

The Hobby Holster sounds awesome…especially for keeping little hands safe when crafting with children. I do a lot of stuff with/for my 5 year old and this sounds like it would be the perfect product for this!!!

  91. Frances D says:

Would be an awesome addition to my crafts room, yet portable also. I could use it in so many ways!
    I need the Hobby Holster!

  92. Colleen Howell says:

That is a amazing new tool to have, you will have peace of mind when using your glue gun, Great job to the company!!

I totally need this. I have the smaller one that I use for my heat tool and I love, love, love it!!! I really need this one for my glue gun as well. I need some place safe to store it while I’m working.

  94. Su K says:

This is the first time seeing this. What a great idea. I’m always having trouble finding the best way to set the glue gun down inbetween using it. Very clever and love the other ideas ie. curling iron holder, soap holder. Certainly can use these. Thanks for the chance to win.

  95. Pamela says:

This is a great tool that will be well utilized by this excited scrapper. Thanks so much for sponsoring this giveaway.

  96. Wanda R. says:

I just saw this tool at the Scrapbook Expo in Chantilly this weekend. It is really cool and I would love to have one. Thanks for the opportunity!

  97. Tish Schneider says:

I loved hearing your story about your friendship. You know, friendship is about closeness of hearts, not addresses! <3 And I'm glad your results came back benign! So thankful! Thanks for the chance to win this neat tool. I'd use my glue gun more I think if I had one. As is, I hate having to wrestle with it to try to keep it sitting where I can get to it easily but yet not burn or glue everything nearby, including me!

  98. Nancy Schueneman says:

This is an awesome accessory for any crafter. I can imagine so many useful ways to use this.

  99. Rannah Romps says:

Finally!!!! Finally a product to help me with the darn glue gun!! I have burned myself so many times with my glue gun!! This is the perfect thing to use not only for the glue gun but to hold other things when not using the glue gun! How fantastic is that! I have so many things I can put in this holster and it will be so convenient for it to stay attached to my table for close at hand items.

  100. Kristin says:

I love it when everyday problems that we all are facing are solved in creative and cute ways! I can see the Hobby Holster working really well with my heat gun for embossing. I have burned myself a time or two on the HOT metal end. That is a good way to curtail, for a bit, the creativity!

  101. Rebecca Thompson says:

I love this Hobby Holster. I’m wondering where I can buy one! Thinking of all kinds of things I can use it for.

  102. Lisa says:

I can see so many uses for this but the first thing that came to mind was somewhere to hold my cell phone at crops. No more searching under piles of paper for my missing phone!

  103. Jennifer says:

I really think that this look like a must have for the craft room (and maybe even two). I think this is an awesome idea!!!

  104. Sue Bertolette says:

Just what I need! I am reluctant to use my glue gun because I constantly worry about burning something which shouldn’t be burned – like my fingers or the noses of my curious furry kids! Looks like this would be a fabulous addition to my craft tool collection.

  105. Carrie Harris says:

It’s finally here!!! Have been watching this awesome since I first heard about it last year! Such a great idea for heat tools! Cannot wait to add this to my Scraproom table!!!

  106. JoAnn Brown says:

So glad I received the email. This is the first I have heard or read about the Hobby Holster and it’s an item I could definitely use. I have limited crafting space so it would be perfect to keep items handy that I am using as well as a place to put a glue gun instead of having to go to another room when I need it. Thanks for the opportunity to win one-keeping my fingers crossed!!

  107. Nicki says:

I would live to have one of these, but I’d really like my husband to have one. He is forever using the glue gun, and he is forever leaving glue everywhere because he can never get it to set in the holder correctly. And I can’t tell how many times he’s burned himself because he drips glue picking it up. This little holster would be a blessing to my counter-tops!

  108. Shelley Hughes says:

This holster looks amazing! My glue gun is a mess from falling over and leaving a puddle of glue on the countertop and the glue gun. I love the colors too. I think I might need a couple as well, one for home, and one to take on the road with my supplies. Great idea!

  109. lisa oerez says:

This is a must have for the craft room. Anything that makes crafting easier is a keeper.

  110. Holly Murphy says:

So nice that it is made to handle hot items and so many other items. Any tool that has more than one purpose gets a thumbs up from me.

Glad I found this blog. So much info. Thanks for the chance to win that great holster

  112. Betty says:

Very touching friendship story.. Glad to hear your chance of meeting… Thoughts are with you.. Thanks for the opportunity to win a holster…. Good Luck All… Happy Crafting!!!

  113. Bethany S says:

I would love to win this holster. I could use it for scrapbooking or cosplay for comic cons. Yes I’m The Crafty Geek

  114. Debbie Whitlock says:

This would be awesome for my homemade cards and crafts that I make, so many times I’ve got glue on things that I shouldn’t including myself.

    I love this!

  115. Allyn Heald says:

This is so AWESOME!!! What a great idea. I use my glue gun constantly and this would be so great to have. Gotta gt my hands on one of these!!!

  116. Sande Sawyers says:

Thank you for sharing! I would hope that this would work with the embellishment gun for making cards! That little piece of metal that it comes with doesn’t last very long so if I had a holster to set it in, it would be a godsend. Thank you! (now to start saving pennies to buy one for my craft room! It will take awhile but will be well worth it!)
    Blessings to your site!
    Sande

  117. Nikki Gubernath says:

This is the nearest thing ever. It’s for all crafters alike. I can’t wait to get myself one. I have had so many times where I get glue all over the table where I am working or I burn myself with it. Nothing like getting burned with a glue gun. It will also make it out of the way of my 3 year old. So super excited!!!!! Ever cooler is that I can use it for markers to. Everything will be at a hands reach.

  118. Deb says:

Omgosh! This has to be the best craft innovation ever!! Can’t wait to get my hands on one…or two!!

  119. Susie says:

I need to get a couple of these!! One for the glue gun and the other for those random tools that I am always reaching for!
