Inspiration Station: How to Stamp On Plastic

Triangle Treat Box Tutorial with Jen Gallacher for the Weekly Scrapper Blog hosted by the Scrapbook Expo

Jennifer-G-header-800Welcome back to another addition of “Inspiration Station”! In this tutorial, I want to show you how you can easily create windows for your projects with plastic sheets. You can dress up these windows with a bit of stamping and heat embossing. Keep reading to learn how!

To stamp on plastic, you will need: a plastic sheet, a stamp, a Versamark Ink Pad, embossing powder, and a heat embossing gun.

Step 1: Ink the stamp with the Versamark ink pad and stamp the image onto the plastic sheet.

Step 2: Sprinkle embossing powder onto the plastic sheet.

Step 3: Heat the plastic with the embossing heat gun holding it several inches away so the plastic doesn’t curl. If the plastic does start to curl, turn over the plastic and heat from the back to help the shape flatten again. Use scissors to fussy cut the shape if desired.

Here’s a look at how the plastic looks stamped, heat embossed, and placed inside a triangle treat box cut with my Cricut® machine. You can see how the peek-a-boo window with the stamped image still allows the recipient to see the goodies inside.

Hi Mattie, You can use acetate sheets for the plastic in this project. They are transparency sheets. You can purchase them at most office supply stores.
