Charming Gingham

Gingham is one of my very favorite patterns! It has a country old-world charm that I love so much. Yet, when it’s paired with white, it has a clean, updated look to it! Today I have three cards to share with you using gingham to set off these pretty florals.

These are a set of mini scalloped note cards. The backgrounds are cut with a new die called Noted: Scalloped Square by Papertrey Ink, which will be available on June 15th. I added a gingham background with patterned paper called Chicken Scratch Gingham.

The flowers are stamped with a new stamp set called Forget Me Not (also available on June 15th), along with the sentiment. The white die cuts are trimmed out with the Forget Me Not dies. Ink colors I used are Melon Berry, Pure Poppy and Dark Chocolate.

On my last card, I “stepped it up” a bit with a few more layers. I used a Noted: Scalloped A2 die set to cut the card base and stenciled a light pattern over the top. I trimmed an oval out of the front of the card and backed it with gingham paper, then added the pretty florals and sentiment over the top.

What do you think? Do you like a simple approach or more layered? Are you a fan of gingham as much as I am?
