Freebie Friday: Win Tickets to Attend Stamp & Scrapbook Expo

Freebie Friday with Jen Walker

Have you attended a workshop at Stamp & Scrapbook Expo? I have been fortunate enough to attend some workshops at the Expo and have loved every one. Some of my very favorite have been the Latest & Greatest workshops taught by Pauline Steffensen. She’s an experienced crafter who is not only fun to create with, but she’s committed to help each person in the class feel great about what they are making.

Because of Pauline’s creative talent, she is one of our go-to people who provide Tips of the Day on Weekly Scrapper, and I’m sure you have enjoyed her tips in the past. Here’s a LINK to one of her previous tips, and you can search Weekly Scrapper for Pauline and find lots more. (Weekly Scrapper is so full of lots of inspiration!) Today I am sharing a brand new tip from Pauline where she shares a fabulous tip for embossing with Deco Foil. In only two minutes, you’ll learn two great techniques for embossing with Deco Foil. If you’d like to easily add a beautiful touch of gold to your projects, you’ll love Pauline’s tips!

You can enjoy lots more tips from Pauline by attending one of her workshops at a Stamp & Scrapbook Expo. Find one near you at scrapbookexpo.com and create to your heart’s content! We’d like to make it easier for a lucky reader to attend an Expo, so make a comment to be entered to win two free tickets to the Expo of your choice in 2017.

When making plans to attend a workshop, what do you want to learn? Cardmaking tips? Mixed media? Watercolor techniques? How to create mini albums? Make a comment and let us know what type of workshop you’d like to attend, and we’ll get you entered to win admission tickets to an Expo.

I would so love to attend a mixed media workshop! I’ve been wanting to delve into that so much because the possibilities of what you can make are endless. Thanks for the giveaway of admission tickets. Hoping to get to the Orlando show next year.

I always go to the Expo with a group of friends. We enjoy the scrap night and are thinking of also
adding on the Make & Takes. Always a great time. I would love to attend the mini album and mixed media
      workshop. Thanks for the giveaway…

  2. Diane DeMartini says:

mixed media would be a great addition to the Expo line of classes. I mean a real class not just the 1 hour and mostly an ad for the product. Maybe 1 1/2 hr. class. Thats what I would like. I loved the new addition in Sacramento, Lastest and greatest Make and Take workshop.

  3. Ida Thibodeau says:

Would love to attend the Expo in Milwaukee. It is always fun to see the new products and techniques. Also, they show you how to use some items you already have in your stash.

Great tip, I going to try it today! Love your Expo’s and am so glad you will be in Minnesota in June. I would like to see a tip on coloring one image several different ways, ways to clean stamps (Rubber Necker Tub O’ Towels), and which adhesives are best for different embellishments.

  5. Chris says:

Attended 2 times this year at different locations. My first time. Loved the mixed media workshop too. Taking more classes next year.

First on my list would be mini albums and then different stamping techniques. Was planning to attend the Akron, OH show this year but wasn’t able to due to a death in the family. Definitely on my calendar for next year!

  9. Angie says:

Cool tools has always been a favorite. Not only do you learn new techniques but when you go home you can apply them to a project! A couple years ago I attended a Cricut how too class that I really enjoyed. It allowed Cricut users to share experiences. I’d love to see Cricut User Group as an option.

  10. Adrianne E says:

I would love to attend an expo in either Schaumburg IL, Milwaukee, WI or Orlando, FL. I would like to learn more about mixed media and pop-up cards. This is a wonderful opportunity; thanks so much for giving me a chance to win.

  11. Deana Sedlar says:

Given card classes and would love to incorporate water color techniques, and tole painting with a twist. I actually have friends frame our cards! Appreciate the opportunity!

  12. Patricia Allison says:

Thanks for asking! The Expo in Sacramento, in October this year, was my first one. It was thrilling to attend and participate, and I would love to go again. One of the things that caught my eye was a combination of stamping and water coloring, as shown at the Ai booth. It was fabulous to watch the artist create, and I hope to learn more about this technique someday… Maybe I can take a class at the Pleasanton Espo in March.

  13. Lin M. says:

I would like to take a workshop on using mixed media on canvas. I have seen some of the beautiful examples that are taught and I was totally amazed! It would be an incredible way to display some of my wedding pics.

  17. Diane G says:

More info on using different paper weight for different projects, and the uses of different adhesives. Thanks for the opportunity to win tickets.

  18. Kira Schneider says:

I’m interested in learning about it all, that way I can figure out what would be the best match for my personality. So is there a Scrapbook Expo 101 type class?

  19. Jocelyn says:

I really enjoy attending the SE shows. The one this year in Puyallup, WA was the best one. I’m not sure if there were more vendors or the move to a smaller building made it seem like more vendors. But there were great demos and vendors. My daughter-in-law and I found a lot of “must haves” this year.

I too am a mixed media artist and book maker. I don’t do too many cards, or scrapbooking, but like to include all kinds of things in my projects. Would especially like to see more stencil layering techniques. I have never signed up for a class, but would sign up in a heart beat for a mixed media stencil class.

  20. Michelle Thao says:

I would love to learn more on card marking, specifically stamping. I am pretty new to it and my stamping is a little off. I hear practice makes perfect. I just want to learn everything in general though since card making uses so many things!

  21. Tammy Young says:

In 2017 would be the first time I would attend my first Expo…… I would enjoy any of the above mentioned classes. I am currently experienced in card making but, I am a Sponge for any and all things stamping and scraping. I am amazed at all the new things to learn. 🙂

  22. Helen Gullett says:

I would love to attend the mixed media to learn more techniques from the teachers because I am a newbie and mixed media is so interesting. Also I would love to attend the cardmaking workshop for sure because I love making cards, and learning more techniques is helping me to create more 🙂 Thank You so much!

  23. Kathy Setter says:

I love Scrapbook Expo and would love an advanced class on copic coloring as well as interactive card making.

  24. Nan Spier says:

I love the mixed media! About eight years ago, I told my husband that I could see a trend where paper crafting techniques, painting, fabric and yarn mediums were going to start melding together. Lo and behold, we are there and I am loving it!

  25. Kerry D says:

I have been attending the Scrapbook Expo in my local area (Sacramento) for several years now. Last year was the first time I attended a cardmaking class. What took me so long? I enjoyed it very much and am looking forward to next year and the opportunities to craft and create with your talented crafter teachers. Sign me up : )
