Sundays With Lorraine

Sundays-with-Lorraine

Happy Valentine’s Day, my crafty friends, and welcome back to Weekly Scrapper! I hope your having a wonderful weekend surrounded by those you love. Let’s start out today with an adorable layout designed Kay.

Together Is The Best Place To Be by Kay

What first drew me to this stunning layout was how well the color scheme complements the sweet photo. It’s so perfect; it looks like they were dressed to go with the layout, doesn’t it? (Don’t laugh, you know you’ve been there. 😉 ) Don’t you just love the soft yellow color that is paired with the black and white patterned paper against that pretty blue? Your eye is automatically drawn first to the photo, than travels to the title (which says it all), then you take in the precious handwritten thoughts.

Together Is The Best Place To Be by Kay

This is a great example of perfect balance in designing a layout; it has all the key components for an amazing scrapbook page. Priceless photos, a heart-felt and descriptive title combined with a handwritten story, it doesn’t get much better than that. Don’t forget to include your personal handwriting on some of your layouts, its part of who you are. If I needed an example of what a scrapbook page is all about, I would be honored to share this layout as an example. I’d like to thank Kay for sharing her talent with us. Happy scrapping my friends!

Butterfly Inspirations designed by Amy Sheffer

This is one of those cards that will be staying out on the mantel for months after it’s received. Who wouldn’t be smiling from ear to ear after finding this treasure in their mailbox? Butterflies have always been a symbol of hope, making them a meaningful addition to any of your paper crafting projects. Whether you’re creating one of your famous mixed media projects or designing the perfect scrapbook page or card, this die set and stamps are a must have; think of all the design possibilities.

If you like butterflies, you’re going to need Papertrey Ink’s new Bitty Butterflies Cover Plate and the Bitty Butterflies stamp sets,  I love how the beautiful stamped butterflies are all lined up and sewn onto the card with their wings pinched up; it looks like they’re about to take flight. Too cute!  If you’re new to the Papertrey Ink site, make sure you check out their Tip sheets, they’re full of great ideas so when you receive your new butterfly sets, you will be ready to dive in and create some magic. Have fun!

God Understands by Lisa Johnson

Lisa used the Square and Circle Stitched Mini Scallop STAX dies to create this beautiful and dainty card.  Check out how the sweet scallops and stitches give this darling card such a finished, yet homemade look and feel.  Who wouldn’t feel the love that was put into this inspirational card? It just makes me smile.

Together Forever designed by Emma Williams

Don’t you just love this stunning piece of art mounted on an altered clipboard? Yes, it would make a great Valentine’s home décor piece, but I love that it could also be left out though the year as well. There is nothing like a good mixed media project to get those creative juices flowing. The key to success is to dive in without fear and have fun with your art. Think of your project as a blank canvas for you to play with and experiment with different techniques and tools.

Seafood Pasta Bake

This dish is not going to be in our Weight Watcher cookbooks, but sometimes you have to say… “Forget the calories, I’m craving something out of the ball park!” So here we go!  Shrimp and crab meat cooked in scampi butter, homemade alfredo sauce, all mixed with yummy al dente pasta. Whats not to love? 😉

Love that I can get a fix of inspiration in quick little bites but also explore in depth when I have time to really dive in. Thank you for putting it all together!

Hello Lorraine, you’re right I don’t hear our name to often. I’m glad that you are inspired by our posts. As far as the Valentine Day sentiment I did a basic google search for Valentines Day quotes & found the cute kitty. I’m sorry to say there was nothing to link back to nor was their an author for me to reference.
