Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started crafting: Growing up in a family that owned a printing/copying business, paper has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I loved to go to my dad’s shop and bring home several sheets of the beautiful colored papers to create books, cards, and drawings. My love of paper bled over to all kinds of stickers, stationery sets, markers, colored pencils, watercolors, and art classes in school. When I was in high school, my mom attended a Creative Memories party. She came home and showed me what she made. I immediately thought to myself, “I want to do that!” Ever since then I have been scrapbooking in one form or another.

Favorite thing to create: My favorite thing to create is scrapbook layouts for our family albums. Not only do I love reminiscing and recording about all the times we have had together, but I admittedly have a terrible memory! If I don’t take pictures or write things down, it may as well not have happened. Ha! I also really love to create dimensional paper crafts. My favorite are die cut boxes in clever shapes and themes, but I also enjoy creating home decor, seasonal decorations, and party projects.

What do you love about this hobby? I always say that I love that the end result of this hobby is a meaningful keepsake for my family (and I do!)… but if I’m completely transparent, what I really love the most is the actual process of playing with all of the products, tools, and supplies! I love seeing what the manufacturers come out with each release. I love shopping and collecting the things that catch my eye. My favorite kind of day is when I have time to pull out a myriad of supplies and spend the afternoon challenging my creativity!

5 fun facts about yourself:
1) My favorite holiday is Halloween. Not in the creepy-gory way, but in the whimsical, magical way.
2) I love camping with my family in our RV. The mountains speak to my soul and make me so happy!
3) I secretly would love to own a small, hometown shop of some kind… a cute little bakery with cupcakes, cakes, and pies, a charming flower shoppe, or a seasonal home decor store.
4) I don’t really like watching the latest TV shows. Instead I watch reruns of “Friends” and “Little House on the Prairie.” They are my favorites and never get old!
5) I love bluegrass music and used to play the mandolin in a small band in college.

LEARN AND GROW by Jana Eubank

A great way to unify photos taken during different times or with clashing colors is to change them to black and white in a photo editing program. It is also a great way to give your page a timeless feeling when you are scrapbooking about a life-lesson, rather than an event.

I LOVE BEING YOUR MOM by Jana Eubank

This page features two of my favorite scrapbooking techniques. Lately, I am obsessed with fussy-cutting flowers and using them as page embellishments. I also really love die-cutting; both with my manual metal dies and with my Silhouette Cameo machine. Here I used metal dies for the hearts and black letters along with the electronically cut “MOM” word for my page title.

LOVE YOU by Jana Eubank

I am obsessed with patterned paper and feel so lucky to create for my favorite manufacturers. On this page, I took a Faith-based paper collection by Simple Stories and made it work for some everyday snapshots of my kids. I mentioned above that I love to fussy-cut flowers from patterned paper, but I also love cutting out letters and phrases from pocket cards to use for my title work, like I did here!

TODAY I AM… by Jana Eubank

This was such a fun page to put together! I collect a lot of stamps, but don’t ink them up as often as I should. On this day I challenged myself to utilize them in a unique way by creating my own embellishments. I stamped several images on thin cork sheets and then punched them into circles. Next, I cascaded them down the right side of the page and filled in the empty spots with another one of my favorite embellishments… Bella Blvd. puffy stickers! I love the result and had a blast making it!

FRESH BAKED KITCHEN MIXER by Jana Eubank

Whenever I take the time to create a special 3D gift box like this kitchen mixer, I feel like I’m doing something fun for the recipient and for myself! I enjoy selecting the patterned papers for each piece and then gluing it all together. But my favorite part is the embellishing! Here I used metal dies by Echo Park Paper to create the leaves and flowers adorning both the mixer and the mixing bowl.

A big thank you to Jana for sharing her talents with us today! She is great at sharing her lovely creations so be sure to stop by her blog/instagram/facebook and more to see what she has up her sleeve!
