Scrapbooking Process Video “Segway Love”

Scrapbooking Process Video "Segway Love" By @jbckadams for @scrapbookExpo #scrapbooking #BeckiAdams #scrapbookingprocessvideo #SSE2017

Hey friends, welcome to Inspiration Station! I’m Becki Adams and last week I shared an everyday layout with you (you can find that post HERE) telling a story of my son and his favorite stuffed animal. This week, I’m sharing a layout I created that has a little more of a “special occasion” feel to it. This one is called “Segway Love.”

This layout tells the story of my daughter riding a segway for the first time at a school competition. I only had one photo to tell this story with, and it was a photo that came in a text message from my husband that wasn’t the best quality. I wanted my daughter to tell the story in her own words so while I was gathering supplies for the layout I handed her a journaling card and a black pen so she could write her own story.

I used the Posh collection from Simple Stories to document this story. I chose this collection for two reasons. First, I loved the color palette. It has a pop of navy blue along with a mix of yellow, coral, and a lighter blue, perfect for a girly layout without overwhelming the story with pink and purple. The second reason I chose to work with this collection was that it had a more generic theme (meaning it wasn’t a specific theme as a Christmas, birthday, or summer collection).

I mixed LOTS of patterned papers together with plenty of machine stitching around the borders of the patterned papers. A white cardstock background isn’t a base that I typically start with but I love how it worked into this layout.

You can see how the layout came together in this process video:

When you sit down to create, what collection do you always reach for? I’d love to hear what your favorite products are. Thank you for stopping by the Weekly Scrapper blog and I’ll see you again soon!
