Simple Summer Layout with Process Video

Hey there Stamp & Scrapbook Expo friends and fans, Becki here with another edition of Inspiration Station. This week I have a fun Summer layout to share with you. Even though we’re still waiting for warmer weather here in Idaho, I know that Summer is right around the corner because the snow is finally GONE. I chose to work with the brand new Summer Fun collection from Echo Park Paper. This collection has such an awesome color palette. My favorite thing about this collection is the pop of black that’s found throughout the collection. Typically black isn’t a color I think of when I think of a Summer color palette. I think the pop of black makes this collection shine! This is a very simple layout that features 3 photos telling the story of my nephew eating raspberries out of Grandma’s garden. I print my photos at home so I was able to print the two photos of my nephew larger than the photo of the raspberries. Although the photo of the raspberries tells the story and is an important part of the layout, I wanted the focus of the layout to be on the photos of my nephew.

Because this layout is on the simple side, I wanted to add a few special unique touches. My favorite detail of this layout is the hand stitching on the title. I love the added texture it gives to the title. It makes the title shine a little bit more than it would have had I not stitched the letters in place. Stitching the letters into place was actually an after-thought. I was almost finished with the layout before I decided to add that special finishing touch of hand stitching. You can see how this entire layout came together in the process video over on my YouTube channel.
