Sundays With Lorraine

Good day, my crafty friends, and welcome back to Weekly Scrapper. I just returned home from the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo in beautiful Marlborough, MA. The weather was perfect and my students were amazing. Hugs to all those crazy, fun, and creative people whom I had the privilege of crafting with in person at the Creativity Center.

Back To School Stories By Neela Nalam

Now that our kids are back to school, I’m betting that you have some really cute pics on your phone. Pocket pages are a fast and easy solution for getting them off the phone and into an adorable album. Since we tend to take lots of pics of our kids at school, and all the activities that follow, wouldn’t it be fun to have a mini album documenting each year? They seem to grow up in the blink of an eye, and capturing those memories via scrapbooking is priceless.

Neela used the August kit to create these fun pocket pages. Each kit includes a mix of tags and shapes that are perfect for your layouts, cards, mini albums, and of course, Project Life!  Pocket pages are the instant gratification of scrapbooking, but remember it’s ok to combine your traditional scrapbook pages with your pocket pages, I like to think of this as going hybrid, This way you still get to incorporate those wonderful embellishments and supplies that you been collecting all these years. If you’d like more information on Elle’s Studio monthly kits, click here and I’ll take you over to the blog. Happy scrapping, my crafty friends!

Thanks For All You Do By Jamie Martin

I love how the bright orange and yellow water-colored poppies seem to just pop off the card when combined with the black and white background, very showy! Jamie creates this adorable card using Rubbernecker Designs multi-layer watercolor stamp set titled “Poppy Trio” along with the smallest of the Nested Rectangle Stitched Dies. This die set includes eight different sized dies, talk about bang for your buck! This is one set you are guaranteed to use over and over again.

Rubbernecker Stamps is known for their two-step stamp sets. These stamp sets really do take all the guesswork out mastering this fun and oh-so-showy technique. Dave with Rubbernecker has prepared a wonderful video showing just how easy it is to create a perfect watercolored masterpiece; click here and I will escort you over so you can watch the short 5-minute video. While you’re watching the video check out how Dave lines up his stamps on the acrylic block by using the packing as a guideline to ensure perfect placement each and every time.

DIY Pallet Plaques By Susan

It’s time to start thinking about who’s getting what for the holidays. How cute would this adorable hanging frame be to gift to your family and friends? They could change out the photo each time you send out a new one – it’s the gift that keeps on giving. Don’t forget to make yourself one, since school is in session they would also be fun to display all those precious pieces of art that your children bring home throughout the year.

What a creative alternative to picture frames – these handmade pallet plaques can be easily modified to fit any home’s decor simply by changing the coloring medium you choose to decorate them with. You can paint it, stain it, ink it, stamp on it, or rough it up for a more distressed look. The possibilities are endless. I’m sure that your very creative mind is spinning with all the ways you can embellish this fun project, so click here and I will be happy to take you over to spend some quality time hanging out with Katie on her blog.

25 Minute Thai Chicken Flatbread Pizza By Carlsbad Cravings

I’m getting hungry just looking at the photos of this yummy Chicken Flatbread.  Jen was inspired by the Thai Chicken Pizza served at the California Pizza Kitchen and being the culinary genius that she is, came up with her own version.  You’ll be happy to know that you can create this yummy flatbread pizza in the comforts of your own home in under half an hour.

Jen truly has a gift for creating recipes that take everyday ingredients and transforming them into extraordinary meals. Click here and I will escort you over to the Carlsbad Cravings Blog so you print out this recipe along with all the others you are sure to fall in love with.

I do hope you will take a minute or two to visit the individual blogs I have shared today so you can see more details on how these wonderful projects were created. Hugs to all who have shared the inspiration for today’s post. Have a wonderfully creative week and I’ll see you next Sunday. If you happen to be in the area the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo is having a show in Mesa, AZ at the Mesa Convention Center, I’ll meet you at the Creativity Center and we’ll create something beautiful together.

Hugs to all!
