Hello, my crafty friends and welcome back to Weekly Scrapper. Now that you have arrived we can begin today’s creative therapy. If you are a fan of inky fingers, this post is for you. I love the beautiful backgrounds that you can create using your favorite inks, stamps, and stencils – I hope you do, too.

Measured Moments – Art Journal Page by Maria Calderone

This is a perfect example of the beautiful art that you can create when using quality products. While spending some creative time on the Art Anthology Blog, I discovered these gorgeous art journal pages and knew immediately that I needed to share the love. Maria is a new addition to the Dream Team and boy, is she amazing!  On this project, she used some of the Art Anthology dimensional paints – Metal Effects, Velvets, and Sorbet. These paints are different than most paints I’ve used; they are translucent yet dimensional, so the heavier the application, the more dimensional and opaque they become. The Velvets have a beautiful matt smooth finish, the Sorbets have high gloss and a tinge of glitter. With Art Anthology products you can have it all!

 Color Outside The Lines By Dot Leathbridge

It was the combination of the gorgeous background and the fun sentiment that spoke to me. If you’ve ever created with me in the Creativity Center you’ve heard me say that It is ok to color outside the lines. One of my designer buttons has that quote and everyone seems to relate to it. One of the only mistakes that you can make with your art is fear. Many crafters get caught up with their art being perfect, but art doesn’t have to be perfect nor do you have to follow someone else’s rules. If it makes you happy then it is perfect as is. Be one with and enjoy what you have created.

The most important thing is to have fun with your art; it is our therapy and shouldn’t be stressful. You will find loads of gorgeous inspiration from Dot Leathbridge on the Visible Image blog as well as on her blog Ink Art Designs. Have fun and stay crafty, my friends.

All You Need Is Love By Amanda Southern

There is so much more that first meets the eye when you look at this artsy card  I definitely picked up some great tips and tricks from Amanda’s original post. I love how she stamped the flowers with black archival ink and then again onto a post-it note which she cut out and laid on top to mask off each flower. This has such nice layering and is very showy; these flowers really pop off the paper.

I hope you’ve been inspired to send one of your handmade treasures to someone special. Who wouldn’t feel the love that was put into this work of art? It’s like receiving a hug through the mail. With summer right around the corner, many of us are attempting to eat a little healthier. Cooking healthy meals that taste great was a tall order for me – until I discovered Ginas Blog Skinny Taste.
