One of my favorite techniques is to punch shapes from LOTS of patterned papers (the more patterns and colors on a layout I can use the better I say!) and then cut those shapes in half! Today I am featuring half circles!
WILD SMILE by Paige Evans
On this layout I punched 1″ circles from all three of my Pink Paislee collections (Fancy Free, Take Me Away, and Oh My Heart) and then cut them in half. I arranged the half circles into concentric rings on a pink paper background and sewed them in place.

On this layout I created banners by punching 1″ circles, trimming them in half, and then arranging them into curved rows. To emphasize the banner effect, I sewed along the tops of each row and then bent up the half circles for dimension.

I spent some time punching circles from a lot of different scrapbook collections, cut them in half, and then layered them to create a sort of floral effect!
KERRY PARK by Paige Evans
Similar to the first layout shown in this post, I created concentric circles from lots of half circles and sewed them down so they’ll stay put forever and ever. 🙂
VENICE CANALS by Paige Evans
Here I used a similar technique but used a square instead of a circle and then arranged them into rings around a central photo. I love stitching the small papers in place and then bending up the papers to create dimension!
