Simple Summer Layout with Process Video

Hey there Stamp & Scrapbook Expo friends and fans, Becki here with another edition of Inspiration Station. This week I have a fun Summer layout to share with you. Even though we’re still waiting for warmer weather here in Idaho, I know that Summer is right around the corner because the snow is finally GONE. I chose to work with the brand new Summer Fun collection from Echo Park Paper. This collection has such an awesome color palette. My favorite thing about this collection is the pop of black that’s found throughout the collection. Typically black isn’t a color I think of when I think of a Summer color palette. I think the pop of black makes this collection shine! This is a very simple layout that features 3 photos telling the story of my nephew eating raspberries out of Grandma’s garden. I print my photos at home so I was able to print the two photos of my nephew larger than the photo of the raspberries. Although the photo of the raspberries tells the story and is an important part of the layout, I wanted the focus of the layout to be on the photos of my nephew.

Because this layout is on the simple side, I wanted to add a few special unique touches. My favorite detail of this layout is the hand stitching on the title. I love the added texture it gives to the title. It makes the title shine a little bit more than it would have had I not stitched the letters in place. Stitching the letters into place was actually an after-thought. I was almost finished with the layout before I decided to add that special finishing touch of hand stitching. You can see how this entire layout came together in the process video over on my YouTube channel.

You might want to find the Summer Fun collection by Echo Park paper so you’ll be ready to document all of your Summer memories. Thank you for stopping by the Weekly Scrapper blog. I’ll see you again next Thursday with another fun video.

Stamped Friendship Card

Stamped friendship card by @jbckadams for @scrapbookexpo and @sunnystudiostamps #handmadecards #scrapbookexpo #sunnystudiostamps

Hey there Stamp and Scrapbook Expo friends and fans, Becki here, for another edition of Inspiration Station. Today I have an awesome stamped friendship card to share with you using an adorable stamp set featured in of our Latest & Greatest Stamping workshops from our friends over at Sunny Studio Stamps. I used the Friends & Family stamp set to create the card I have to share with you today. I had so much fun stamping TONS of simple flowers to create this card. Stamped friendship card by @jbckadams for @scrapbookexpo and @sunnystudiostamps #handmadecards #scrapbookexpo #sunnystudiostampsI used lots of different colored inks to stamp the flowers onto smooth white cardstock. I just used inks that were in my stash that coordinated with the patterned paper I wanted to use. I stamped each flower with the same color of ink several times. Then, I fussy cut each flower out of the white cardstock. In the center of a few of the flowers I added enamel dots in coordinating colors. Stamped friendship card by @jbckadams for @scrapbookexpo and @sunnystudiostamps #handmadecards #scrapbookexpo #sunnystudiostampsThe flowers are layered and adhered across the entire card. I wanted a huge splash of colored flowers to draw attention to the sentiment across the bottom of the card. Stamped friendship card by @jbckadams for @scrapbookexpo and @sunnystudiostamps #handmadecards #scrapbookexpo #sunnystudiostampsAfter adhering the flowers to the card front, I stamped the sentiment in a crisp black ink to finish the card. Stamped friendship card by @jbckadams for @scrapbookexpo and @sunnystudiostamps #handmadecards #scrapbookexpo #sunnystudiostampsI think you’d love to play with this stamp set too. Latest & Greatest 5×7 Banner Card

Hey there Stamp & Scrapbook Expo friends and fans, Becki here. Today I have a fun card to share with you using products from the Latest & Greatest card making class. I chose to create a 5×7 banner card with a 6×8 paper pad and tag set from the Illustrated Faith/Bella BlvdMake Your Mark” collection.

This card is so easy to make yet makes a big impact with all the colorful banners. The two gold foiled banners came in the tag pack. The floral banner is also from the tag pack but I altered it from a traditional tag into a banner by trimming the top and bottom. The other papers are cut from the 6×8 paper pad.

I added two heart stickers and a white string bow as embellishments on this card. As a finishing touch I sprinkled some gold spray ink drops in the top left and bottom right corners of the card.

After the gold ink was dry, I gently gave the banners some dimension by curling them with my fingers.

If you haven’t signed up for a Latest & Greatest workshop at a Stamp & Scrapbook Expo near you, make sure you sign up HERE.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you’ll be inspired to create some fabulous cards using products featured in our classes. I’ll see you again next Thursday for another edition of Inspiration Station.

A Layout Using Thicker Alignment Guides

A Layout using Thicker Alignment Guides by @jbckadams for @scrapbookexpo #SSBE2017 #BeckiAdams #Thickeralignmentguides

Hey there Stamp & Scrapbook Expo friends and fans, Becki here with another edition of Inspiration Station. If you remember, last week I share a video with you on the basics of using Thicker alignment guides. (You can find that post HERE). This week, I thought that it would be fun to create a layout using the Thicker alignment guides as templates AND to align my Thicker title. I used many of the same supplies on the layout as I did with the card that I created last week (the Little By Little collection by American Crafts and Shimelle).

I started by cutting two pieces of patterned paper into a curved shape with the large wave alignment guide. I cut both pieces with the same ruler the dark blue piece is just about an inch taller than the light blue patterned paper. By making the dark blue paper just a little bit larger than the light blue patterned paper, there is a perfect spot for my Thicker title. Once again, I reached for my large wave alignment guide so that I could get my letter stickers placed perfectly along the wave without giving it a second thought. I love how something as simple as an alignment guide can support the them behind a layout. I love having the title on a wave when the subject of the layout is bubbles. I finished embellishing this layout with a few die cuts, stickers, and enamel wood buttons. Now, if you haven’t signed up for a Latest & Greatest workshop at a show near you, you need to sign up!! You can find all the information HERE. These Thicker alignment guides are just one of the fun tools that you can take home with you from a “Cool Tools” class.

Thank you for stopping by the Weekly Scrapper blog, I’ll see you again next Thursday I’ll have a card to share with you that I know you’ll love.

How to Use Thicker Alignment Guides

How to Use Thicker Alignment Guides by Becki Adams for @scrapbookexpo #scrapbooking #cardmaking #americancrafts #cooltools

Hey there Stamp & Scrapbook Expo friends and fans, Becki here. Today, I’m so excited to share a tool with you that is featured in a few of our Latest & Greatest workshops, Cool Tools. Ever since this tool was announced by American Crafts, I’ve been dying to get my hands on them!!! Thickers Alignment Guides are SO cool!!  I LOVE letter stickers and use them on almost everything I create, scrapbook projects, cards, home decor… I love using letter stickers.

When I used the Thicker Alignment Guides, this card went from being okay to being eye catching and unique with a curved sentiment. Come see how easily and quickly this card came together with the Thicker Alignment Guide in this video:

See how easy it is to create a fun whimsical title or sentiment!

My favorite thing about the package of Thickers Alignment Guides is that they come in two sizes (all in one package). So they’re perfect for card making AND scrapbooking.

Stay tuned for more projects using this awesome tool in upcoming editions of Inspiration Station.

Thank you for stopping by the Weekly Scrapper blog. I’ll see you again next Thursday. Make sure you sign up for a Latest & Greatest workshop HERE at a Scrapbook Expo near you! We’ll see you at the Expo!

Boy-Themed Layout with Bonus Video

Boy Themed layout with Bonus Video by @jbckadams for @scrapbookexpo #scrapbooking #americancrafts #processvideo #beckiadams

Hey there Stamp & Scrapbook Expo friends and fans, Becki here, for another edition of Inspiration Station. Today, I have a fun boy layout to share with you that I created with a collection that has a spontaneous beach theme. I created this layout with the On A Whim collection by Amy Tangerine and American Crafts.

When I was gathering supplies for this layout I simply went through the On a Whim collection and pulled out anything that was green or blue. After I had a pile of all the blue/green supplies, I got started. I chose the green grid patterned paper as my background.

I also added a pop of black in the title, a few embellishments, and splatters of black ink. I wanted the black accents to coordinated with the black shirt my son is wearing in the photo.

I combined two types of letter stickers to create the title on this layout. I love combining fonts to make interesting titles. I always reach for a block font and a script font when combing fonts. By combining those two types of fonts you’re guaranteed an eye catching title.

Would you like to see how this layout came together? As a fun little bonus, I created a process video over on my YouTube channel of this layout. I’d love it if you stopped by.

Thank you for stopping by the Weekly Scrapper blog today. I’ll see you again next Thursday, happy crafting!
