Winter Wishes By Emilia Van Den Heuvel

Do you have memories of winter that you want to capture in your scrapbook?  Today I want to share this beautiful Winter Wishes layout created by Emilia Van Den Heuvel.  What really caught my eye was the technique using Pentart glass paint.  You can see how Emilia used this amazing technique on her reindeer.  Sum up several cold-weather memories on one layout using a stickable stencil and glitter paste to create the dimensional layer on your background paper.  Don’t you just love these snowflakes?

Winter Wishes

Complete the design with several snowflakes and add some beautiful embellishments to the centers.  Head outdoors with your children or grandchildren and take some snap shots of them enjoying the snow.  This will be one of those layouts you will cherish forever.  Let me take you on over to Few Favourite Things where you will see how Emilia put this layout together and her list of supplies.  I also want to share with you a tip how to get properly exposed snow photos.  Use the Winter or Snow setting on a point-and shoot camera, or set a custom white balance on a digital SLR.  You will be surprised the difference this will make.  Have fun creating your winter layouts!

Lynn used the 12 x 12″ Soiree Collection from Bo Bunny to create her cards.  To add some dimension through layering, Lynn backed some of the photos with the Lattice Frame Craft Die and some of the paper from the 6 x 6″ paper pad.  The layered chipboard is a great element that will bring dimension to your pages. Adding embellishments such as buttons, glitter sprays, and paste will bring life to your layout!  Would you like to see what else she did to create this fun layout? Once Is Enough by Jill Foster

Once Is Enough

Jill used an ink blending tool and foam pad to add background inking. Adding an inked background still keeps the flowers bold and bright. Let me take you on over to Studio Sessions Art where you will find the products needed to create this beautiful card. Sundays With Lorraine

Happy Valentine’s Day, my crafty friends, and welcome back to Weekly Scrapper! I hope your having a wonderful weekend surrounded by those you love. Let’s start out today with an adorable layout designed Kay.

Together Is The Best Place To Be by Kay

What first drew me to this stunning layout was how well the color scheme complements the sweet photo. It’s so perfect; it looks like they were dressed to go with the layout, doesn’t it? (Don’t laugh, you know you’ve been there. 😉 ) Don’t you just love the soft yellow color that is paired with the black and white patterned paper against that pretty blue? Your eye is automatically drawn first to the photo, than travels to the title (which says it all), then you take in the precious handwritten thoughts.

Together Is The Best Place To Be by Kay

This is a great example of perfect balance in designing a layout; it has all the key components for an amazing scrapbook page. Priceless photos, a heart-felt and descriptive title combined with a handwritten story, it doesn’t get much better than that. Don’t forget to include your personal handwriting on some of your layouts, its part of who you are. If I needed an example of what a scrapbook page is all about, I would be honored to share this layout as an example. I’d like to thank Kay for sharing her talent with us. Happy scrapping my friends!

Butterfly Inspirations designed by Amy Sheffer

This is one of those cards that will be staying out on the mantel for months after it’s received. Who wouldn’t be smiling from ear to ear after finding this treasure in their mailbox? Whether you’re creating one of your famous mixed media projects or designing the perfect scrapbook page or card, this die set and stamps are a must have; think of all the design possibilities.

Butterfly Inspiration designed by Amy Sheffer

If you like butterflies, you’re going to need Papertrey Ink’s new Bitty Butterflies Cover Plate and the Bitty Butterflies stamp sets,  I love how the beautiful stamped butterflies are all lined up and sewn onto the card with their wings pinched up; it looks like they’re about to take flight. Too cute!  If you’re new to the Papertrey Ink site, make sure you check out their Tip sheets, they’re full of great ideas so when you receive your new butterfly sets, you will be ready to dive in and create some magic. Have fun!
