Gift Bags

Happy Saturday my friends, and thank you for joining me today!  I want to share some fun projects created by fabulous designers, and of course a yummy dessert for your summer gatherings!  I hope you can take some time to sit back and enjoy the inspiration.  Enjoy!

Pocket Pages By Amy Little

It has been awhile since I shared pocket page ideas.  This past week I went on a fabulous vacation with my family.  I decided I was not going to put these memories in an envelope and hope to scrapbook them one day. The next day I printed some photos (well, a lot of photos) and decided to make a Pocket Page album.  This was so much fun and got me excited to share some ideas with you today!  Whether you are going on a dream vacation or exploring where you live, be sure to take lots of photos to document your adventures!

Pocket Pages

Today I want to share three of my favorite items for creating my pocket pages.  My first one is Pocket Life Cards.  These contain cards like “Places” and “Today” and can help focus your vacation journaling.  Second would be cut apart pages. These are great for your pocket layouts.  You can fussy cut and layer so many different pieces to create a one-of-a kind masterpiece!  Third, wood veneers or chipboard pieces.  What a great and fun way to add some layering, dimension, and personality to your layout.  Take time to record your feelings and thoughts about your photos in that moment so you will always cherish that special time.  Let me take you over to BoBunny where Amy has created this adorable pocket page.  She will give you some tips in creating this page, along with a list of all the supplies you will need to get started.  Thank you, Amy for your fabulous inspiration!

Shaker Over A Colored Image By Nina-Marie Trapani

The sizzling hot shaker trend shows no signs of cooling down anytime soon.  That is good news for me because I love this fun technique.  Today I want to share a new shaker card inspiration.  Yes, let’s add a colored image underneath the fun sequins!  I always look for some unique and different ways to create shaker cards.

Shaker Over A Colored Image

There is nothing better than receiving a handmade card in the mail!  The cards that leave a lasting memory in my mind are always interactive in some way.  This is truly one of those cards that will forever be cherished.  I highly recommend stopping by the Simon Says Stamp blog where you can see some step-by-step instructions by Nina-Marie on how to create this beautiful card.  You will learn so many new techniques for watercoloring along with adding some magical effects to the card using clear sequins.  This is one technique you don’t want to miss out on!  Have fun creating!

Gift Bags By Riikka Kovasin

These sweet bags are not only adorable but can be used for multiple purposes; they are perfect for Thank You, Get Well, Happy Birthday, Just Because, or just about any occasion you need it for. Basic brown bags can make the prettiest bags for gift giving.  How fun to personalize each one, and then adding a tag is such a bonus!

Gift Bags

These stamps offer fun and unique designs that will be a great addition to any occasion for your bags or paper project.  Don’t hesitate to start playing with these fun stamps and see what great designs you can come up with!  Riikki used the Prima Cling Mounted Stamp Doll with Ruffle Dress to create her bag.  I hope you have been inspired to start your own adorable gift bags!

Saturdays-with-LeAnn

Welcome back, my crafty friends.  I have some great projects to share with you on this beautiful fall day, so sit back, relax, and let’s have some fun by letting the creative therapy begin!

Autumn Is Here By Shizuka Hirano

Mixed media is a lot of different things. It can be art pages, tags, alterations, canvases, and many more types of projects.  So today I wanted to share this wonderful fall mixed media layout. To create the background of this layout, Shizuka uses torn paper and adheres it to the background paper.  She then covered the paper with gesso and added some texture using a stickable stencil.  To give it a finish and shine she added some gold glimmer mist. Shizuka used several sheets of paper to give the layout thickness and a chipboard look and feel.

Autumn Is Here

The photos are the stars of this layout. I love the way the embellishments complement and coordinate perfectly with these adorable photos. This is such a stunning layout with the colors, the texture, and all of the layers.  A big thank you to Shizuka for her wonderful inspiration.  I know you would love to have all of the techniques that Shizuka used, so let me escort you over to BoBunny’s blog where you can see the steps to make this masterpiece layout.  You will truly be inspired!

Roree-header-1500-800x192
Hey, everyone! Roree here with another Make It! Monday project. Today I am sharing a card I created with Tim Holtz Distress Crayons, mixed media paper, and a stencil.

roree rumph_tim holtz distress crayons_stencil_background_card
I started with a stencil from the BoBunny Cascade Stickable Stencils pack, some mixed media paper, and some a few Tim Holtz® Distress Crayons from the Set #2 pack.

I placed the stencil over the mixed media paper panel.

roree rumph_tim holtz distress crayons_stencil_background_card_step2
I colored over stencil with the crayons, graduating the color from dark to light and back to dark.

roree rumph_tim holtz distress crayons_stencil_background_card_step3
I rubbed in the color onto the paper with my finger, blending each color into the next.

I removed the stencil to reveal a stunningly colorful background.

roree rumph_tim holtz distress crayons_stencil_background_card_step6
I trimmed the panel to fit on a square card front and created a tag to hang at the corner of the panel.

roree rumph_tim holtz distress crayons_stencil_background_card_closeup1
I kept the embellishments minimal so the background would be the main focus of the card.

I hope you enjoyed today’s Make It! Monday project. Thanks so much for stopping by!
