Hello my friends!  I hope the weather is warmer where you are, because we are dealing with some seriously cold temperatures here in Utah.  Not fun, but a girl has to stay warm, and what a better way than to play in my craft room out of the cold? Let’s get to today’s inspiration for some new and fun projects that are sure to warm your heart!  I hope these will inspire you and you will have fun creating some of your own.

This beautiful card, designed by the very talented Amy Sheffer, is a great way to send some hugs through the mail.  Amy always brings her cards to life with beautiful, soft water coloring.  I love they way that it complements the beautiful flowers.  Who wouldn’t feel the love with this perfect message of hope and encouragement?

Amy used the stamp Fresh Bouquet along with a combination of Papertrey inks and Zig clean color brush markers.  Stamps are always a great way to create your own images to color.  You can outline the image and add your own pop of color using your favorite coloring technique.  Thank you, Amy, for always being a great inspiration. Don’t be afraid to pull out your distress inks and do some coloring on watercolor cardstock. You don’t have to be a professional painter to create a watercolor masterpiece.  You can make coloring so much fun, and it is so easy to do.  If you have watercolor pencils they are also wonderful to use as well.

Welcome back this wonderful Saturday morning!  The weather here in Utah has been so beautiful.  I certainly have been enjoying all of the fall colors and the nip of the cool air.  It is such a beautiful season!  This is a perfect time of year to gather all of the projects you’ve been wanting to create and maybe even tackle some new techniques.  I hope to bring you some inspiration today for your next creation!

I want to share with you another fabulous layout using a photo as the main focus.  Elina has hand drawn, colored, and extended the branches along with leaves from her photo.  She has added some die-cut leaves to the bottom to give some texture and depth.  This brings a strong visual impact to your page.

Recently I have had two very special friends that have been having some health issues.  When I came upon this card I instantly knew this was the perfect card to give these wonderful friends. This soft, elegant card would really warm a heart!

This card was created using a digital stamp by Power Poppy called Rose And Chamomile.  The beauty of a digital stamp is that you can make multiple copies, rotate, and overlap them as necessary to get the shape you desire. This card is one that you could change the sentiment and give for any occasion.  Break out your markers or even your colored pencils.  You will have so much fun creating this card with the digital image.

With the holidays just around the corner, this beautiful dessert is one that will provide an abundance of compliments and be enjoyed by all.  These puff pastry-wrapped pears are so elegant and very easy to make.  You can serve them with chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, or even raspberry sauce; you can also simply enjoy them plain or top them with vanilla ice cream.

Welcome back, my crafty friends.  I have some great projects to share with you on this beautiful fall day, so sit back, relax, and let’s have some fun by letting the creative therapy begin!

Autumn Is Here By Shizuka Hirano

Mixed media is a lot of different things. It can be art pages, tags, alterations, canvases, and many more types of projects.  So today I wanted to share this wonderful fall mixed media layout. To create the background of this layout, Shizuka uses torn paper and adheres it to the background paper.  She then covered the paper with gesso and added some texture using a stickable stencil.  To give it a finish and shine she added some gold glimmer mist. Shizuka used several sheets of paper to give the layout thickness and a chipboard look and feel.

The photos are the stars of this layout. I love the way the embellishments complement and coordinate perfectly with these adorable photos. This layout is one that will help you share just exactly who you are.  I love this because it is about your life; its a great way to display what you love and the things that are important to you. Lynn used the 12 x 12″ Soiree Collection from Bo Bunny to create her cards.  To add some dimension through layering, Lynn backed some of the photos with the Lattice Frame Craft Die and some of the paper from the 6 x 6″ paper pad.  The layered chipboard is a great element that will bring dimension to your pages. It is always wonderful to have “Congratulations” cards on hand.  I thought you might enjoy this sweet handmade card created by the very talented Amy Sheffer.  Shaker cards are really an eye-catcher with all of the beautiful pieces inside. They really add a touch of cheer to the occasion.

Don’t you just love how the flowers on this amazing card by Jill Foster are so bold and vibrant?  Jill added some Colorless Blender directly from the refill bottle, and flicked some of the paint using a paintbrush to give some added splatters to the watercolored background.

Jill used an ink blending tool and foam pad to add background inking. Adding an inked background still keeps the flowers bold and bright. The subtle background stamping was done using Penny Black stamps.  It’s time to pull out those Copic markers and have some fun. With the winter season behind us and summer on its way, I thought you might enjoy a nice summer-inspired project.  I fell in love with the beautiful blue colors, along with the gel paste and the new Under the Sea Stickable stencil by Bo Bunny. This layout is perfect for those summer photos that are waiting for you to showcase them on a lovely layout.

I love the way that Denise added some drops of acrylic onto her page, then sprayed water onto the drops so the paint spreads out and seeps into the paper.  This gives such a beautiful look to her background. Mixed media is really fun and there is no right or wrong way to do it.  Most important is to play and have fun with it! I really enjoy working with die cuts. They make my projects work up quickly and also give some dimension to them, not to mention how beautiful they always turn out!  This darling card was created with several die cuts and an embossing folder.
