Hello my dear friends, and welcome back to Weekly Scrapper.  What a better way to round out your work week than with five amazing projects that I have gathered to share with you?  I hope today’s post will give you some great “WOW” inspiration from these fun projects (and of course a yummy dessert)!  Shall we get started?  Kick off those shoes, get comfortable, and relax, because here we go!

Dream By Tina Stepanova

You all know by now how much I love creative backgrounds, and an inked mixed media background is one of my favorites.  The combination of embossing powders, inks, and sprays really make a gorgeous background.  Some stamped images in the background really turns this into a beautiful masterpiece.  Think of all the possibilities you can do to create beautiful backgrounds!

Dream

You will find all kinds of inspiration from Tina Stepanova on her blog Dare To Create.  Click here and I will be happy to escort you over to her blog where you will find all kinds of inspiration.  The most important thing is to have fun when creating your backgrounds and layouts. Ok, now let’s get those creative minds to working!  Happy scrappin’!

Carousel Card By Kathy Clement

Did this whimsical card catch your eye as it did mine?  You can make this darling card for a very special occasion.  Choose unique papers and embellishments to design a card that is just perfect for that special person.   Kathy took it a step further and made it function as a mini folio.  This alone makes a perfect gift for any occasion.  Who wouldn’t love and appreciate receiving this beautiful card full of surprises and all the love that went into making it?!

This is just a sneak peak of what you will see inside. Remove the little brown binder clip, and you will find that the front cover is just the beginning.   You just wait, you will totally love this card and will be anxious to make your own!

Quilt-Inspired Window By Allison Murray

Clear glass doesn’t coordinate with messy shelves!  Ready to hide away your mess, or just add some personality to the window panes on your cabinet?  You don’t need to get rid of that cabinet you are tired of, or even paint it to make it look different.  This is a perfect solution to give your cabinet a totally new look. I just fell in love with how covering the window panes with scrapbook paper brought so much charm to this piece of furniture.   Who would have ever thought to use scrapbook paper this way?

Quilt-Inspired Window

If you fell in love with this stunning cabinet and don’t have one in your home (but wished you did), visit one of your favorite thrift stores or a garage sale.  It is surprising what is available out there. Plaid Watercolor

Welcome back, my dear crafty friends, to Weekly Scrapper!  Don’t you just love Saturdays?  It is one of my favorite days of the week, and especially because I get to share my passion of crafting with you. I just love spending the day in my craft room and do the things I love to do!  I hope you will be able to take some time for yourself today and have fun with your crafting.

Best Weekend By Missy Whidden

When creating a layout, the photo itself is the major guide to your process.  Any time you are using a black and white photo, you can incorporate a lot of color on the remainder of the layout to balance the lack of color in the photo.  Have you ever noticed that black and white emphasizes the faces in the photo?  Missy did such an outstanding job on this layout.  The colors she used really give the photo a pop and helps it really stand out.

Best Weekend

Missy added some fun arrows and arranged them for her background, adhered them, then went over them with gesso.  She added some shimmerz paints, washi tape, and embellished with some die cuts, tags, sequins.  To top it off she did some machine stitching through the center of her arrows.  This is such a fun and eye catching layout!  Let me escort you over to Little Nugget Creations where you will find a step-by-step video, along with many more outstanding projects created by Missy.  You will always leave her blog feeling very inspired.

Plaid Watercolor By Debby Hughes

Today’s card is all about the plaid background. Can you believe this gorgeous plaid was created with watercolors?  You can get an intense background with watercolor paints!  Not all watercoloring has to be soft and subtle.  The beauty of plaids is that they can be used for both a masculine or feminine look.  I just love this plaid card; it is so eye-catching and a very fun technique! Handmade cards instantly brighten up anyone’s day.

Plaid Watercolor

Step outside the box and create unique watercolor plaid backgrounds in all colors.  You can create a card and design a greeting for any occasion from birthdays, holidays, and invitations to general correspondence.  There is so much joy that comes from a card made with a lot of love.  A pop of color can make it look perfect!  Let’s pop on over to Lime Doodle Design where you will be inspired by Debby’s talent.  You will want to jump right in and create one of your own handmade treasures!

Love You To Pieces By Shari Carroll

Here is a fun card full of inspiration.  Watercoloring is such a beautiful technique and there are so many different water-based coloring mediums to choose from.  I love working with watercolors; it is such a great way to add beautiful colors to your cards.  This card was created using the Heart of Flowers Wafer die cut on top and a watercolor panel beneath the die cut. What’s not to love about this adorable card designed by Shari Carroll?  A perfect card to say you are thinking of that special person!

Love You To Pieces

This die is so much fun to play with you just want to jump right in and create one of your own handmade treasures!  The possibilities are absolutely endless!  Shari has so many wonderful projects that you don’t want to miss out on.  Let me take you over to her blog My World, where you will find endless inspiration.

Turtle Peanut Butter Cookies By Dorothy Kern

Cold winter days are a good reason to go into the kitchen and bake some nice warm cookies.  These turtle cookies have every indulgent flavor you could pack in a recipe.  Peanut butter, caramel, chocolate, all topped off with a pecan.  You’re ready to make a batch, aren’t you?

Turtle Peanut Butter Cookies

These are the simplest cookies you will ever make!  Peanut butter and caramel are a dynamic duo, and of course the chocolate enhances both peanut butter and caramel flavors!  The chocolate on top adds a nice surprise, and the pecan adds a little extra flavor and texture.  Now that you are craving this cookie, click here and I’ll take you over to Crazy For Crust, where you will find the recipe to get you started making your cookies now.  Enjoy!

Thank you for stopping by on this beautiful winter day.  Stay in out of the cold and enjoy doing some crafting!  Be sure to visit again next week, as I have some more fabulous projects to share with you!  Have a great weekend!

Saturdays-with-LeAnn

Welcome back to Weekly Scrapper, my dear friends.  I am so blessed to have the opportunity to share the following projects with you today.  I hope you will take some time for a bit of creative therapy.  You deserve a little “ME” time after the busy week you just put in.  Sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Fall Is Here

Have you ever tried working with clear acrylic?  I encourage you to play with your supplies to add different techniques to the acrylic. Embossing and inking, alcohol resist technique, or adding your own fussy cutting and adhering to the acrylic sheet are also great possibilities.  Leah Crow fussy cut leaves out of different patterned paper and adhered them to her acrylic sheet. This is a perfect time to use up some of those scraps you’ve been saving. Add a touch of color and you will create a beautiful look on your next project.

Fall Is Here

I love how you can go from elegant to whimsical just by the different techniques and paper that you use on acrylic.  How special would it be to add a photo of you and your loved ones?  Once you bring out all of your embellishments, the magic begins!  Be sure to stop by the Clear Scraps blog so you can write down what materials Leah used to create this wonderful acrylic layout. Have fun crafting!

Foxy Blessings

I just fell in love with this adorable little guy, how about you? And what’s not to love about this reverse masking technique?  The blues really allow the little fox’s color to pop. If you are not familiar with the term “reverse masking” it involves cutting out a shape with a die-cutting machine, punches, or scissors and then using the negative of the cut shape as a mask to cover up parts of the cardstock you don’t want inked, leaving the shape revealed to stamp and sponge.

Foxy Blessings

There are so many different products you can incorporate in your projects; Embossing Powders, Gelatos, Ken Oliver’s Color Burst are just a few.  To learn more about the reverse masking technique, click here and I will lead you on over to a wonderful tutorial.  You will see step-by-step instructions of this technique.  The possibilities are endless and you are going to love it.  I hope you have been inspired to give this fun technique a try.  A big thank you to Judy Rozema for her fabulous inspiration!

Thankful

Don’t you just love it when a beautiful card comes together so quickly?  I love how Lols added depth and dimension to this card.  The different layers really add to this card, along with making the flower very showy. Just by changing up the sentiment this can be a card made for any occasion.

Thankful

What a fabulous background made using the Woodgrain Background Stamp and Pumice Stone Distress Ink.  Lols also used a dot fade stencil and embossing paste to create some texture. While the paste was still wet she sprinkled it with Vintage Platinum Distress Dust.  By using this same background you can create several totally different cards, or crank out several of the same in no time. With the holidays fast approaching, you could create a poinsettia instead of the flower to make it into a Christmas card. Now that you have an idea for your holiday cards, you can get started on them before the big rush of the season.  Let me take you over to Lorraine’s Loft so you can see all of the supplies you will need to get started.  Have fun, my creative friends!

Book Clocks

I love having things in my home that are a bit different from the norm, so when I came upon these fun book clocks I knew I had to create them.  I made a gallery using several of my favorite books for my craft room, and can I say “WOW!” My wall turned out so great!  I knew I absolutely had to share this tutorial with you.
Book Clocks

If you don’t have any books that you want to cut up, there are many flea markets or thrift stores where you can purchase these at very inexpensive prices.  You can place your clock hands anywhere on the book that you desire.  If you are doing several for one wall, I suggest creating each differently to give your wall some interest.  You can also set your clock on a table to create a fun home decor piece.  These make wonderful gifts as well.  For step-by-step instructions, I’ll take you over to Woonblog where you will be inspired by Tom and his many creations.

Pumpkin Ice Cream Sandwiches

I love, love, love pumpkin ice cream and cookies. They are some of my very favorite treats, so with the two combined life couldn’t be better.  I was so happy when I came upon this idea.  What a fun treat to serve to your family this fall.  This is a great treat that doesn’t call for a recipe and is super quick and easy to make.

Pumpkin Ice Cream Sandwiches

Make your own cookies or use store-bought cookies if you are in a hurry.  This is a dessert you could use any flavor of your favorite ice cream and cookies.  This festive fall treat will create many smiles and bring many compliments. Come with me over to Eighteen 25 to see how easy it is to make these!  I hope you enjoy every bite! 🙂

Thank you again for stopping by today.  I will see you back next Saturday with more great projects to inspire you throughout your week. I hope you will have a wonderful Thanksgiving!  Enjoy your family and friends, and create fun memories that you will forever cherish!

Welcome back, my friends.  What a better way to round out your work week than with five amazing projects from four wonderful designers, and then add to it some yummy cookies!  I hope these will be some projects that you want to create yourself.  So kick off your shoes, relax, and let’s get started!

Heritage Portrait By Delaina Burns

I am delighted today to share this beautiful layout designed by the very talented Delaina Burns.  The astonishing moments with our family are not only to be cherished, but are so very important for us to scrapbook.  I love Delaina’s layout and how she added the vintage flare to set off her old photo.

Heritage Portrait

Delaina created her beautiful page using a stenciled background along with the Artisan Powder from Prima. She also added lots of layers by mixing papers, flowers, and metals.  Don’t you just love this soft, vintage look?  All of her embellishments are a perfect match to complement her layout.  Click here and I will be happy to take you over to her blog, Delaina’s Embellished Memories, where you will find the steps to creating this page.  This is one design I am sure you will want to use again.  A big thank you to Delaina for sharing this outstanding layout with us.  Enjoy creating one of your own!

Thanks By Inge Groot

I know many of you (like me) are enjoying the shaker-card trend that is going on right now, and I hope you will be inspired to make one of your own. I would like to share this darling shaker card that was created by using the Gift Box Cover-Up-Die-namics windows.  Adding beautiful colored sequins to your card will immediately add color to your background of your card.  Step it up a notch and add a coordinating envelope to your card.  What a sweet surprise when the recipient opens the envelope to find such a fabulous card inside.

Thanks

Whether you have made dozens of shaker cards or if this is your very first, I highly recommend you stopping by the Patterned Paper blog where Inge will share the supplies needed and how she created this adorable card.  You will love how she used this window die to create a shaker card with a beautiful floral arrangement!  Thank you, Inge, for your inspiration!

Well, Hello By Cindy Lawrence

Today I would like to also share this fabulous card created with a new digital stamp set from Power Poppy called Well, Hello Dahlia.  My favorite part of this card is the fact that it is a digital file, and the best part is that you can print it as many times as you desire.

Well Hello

Digital stamps are becoming increasingly popular.  They present a stamper with a whole new range of crafting opportunities.  One of their attractions is the fact that the images can be resized, flipped to create a mirror image, or manipulated in other ways before printing it out and colored in the same way that a rubber stamped image is colored.  This gives you a range of new design opportunities.  Cindy shows us her beautiful coloring skills using Copic markers.  Click here and I would love to take you over to The Creative Closet where you can see the different colors of markers that Cindy used to create this masterpiece. Have fun creating! 🙂

Wire & Felt Flowers By Anna-Karin Evaldsson

These unique flowers are so fun to make and look great in a vase together, or just one flower on its own in a glass jar becomes a great little gift.  The flowers look very nice and decorative, and can be used for different things like gifts, napkins and many other items.  Don’t you just love the look of the twisted wire for the stems?  No need to cover them up with florist tape.  The mixed metals really step up the style.  Try making your flowers from other materials, such as printed paper, old book paper, leather, matte board, or any kind of surface that you can die cut.

Wire & Felt Flowers

So you are probably wondering how you make your wire twists, right?  There is a new tool out is called Twist & Style.  This exciting twist tool quickly and easily twists wire with other materials, including ribbon, raffia, cotton cording, plastic cording, embroidery floss, and fabric strips. The results are so amazing!  Click here to learn how to use this amazing tool. This video will show you step-by-step instructions and you will find yourself having so much fun creating with this tool.  A big thank you to Anna-Karin for another wonderful inspiration.  Have fun crafting, friends!

Coconut Lime Shortbread Cookies By Ali Ebright

You have got to try these!  If you are looking for a cookie that will make you look like a professional baker, these are the cookies for you.  Not only are they so tasty but very appealing as well.  These are full of fresh lime, coconut, and buttery flavors, and topped with a light lime glaze.  They will become one of your all-time favorites!

Coconut Lime Shortbread Cookies
You absolutely can’t go wrong with these.  I highly recommend making a double or triple batch, then you will have extras to give away or even to freeze for later.  Let me take you over to Gimme Some Oven where Ali has the recipe and ingredients for you.  With the days starting to get cooler, it is a great time to spend in your kitchen and do some baking.  Enjoy!
Thank you for sharing a bit of your Saturday with me.  I hope you have enjoyed today’s projects and you have been inspired to begin some of your own.  I am looking forward to sharing some more fun things again with you next Saturday.  Have a wonderful week ahead of you and enjoy this beautiful fall season!

Paradise By Denise Van Deventer

With the winter season behind us and summer on its way, I thought you might enjoy a nice summer-inspired project.  I fell in love with the beautiful blue colors, along with the gel paste and the new Under the Sea Stickable stencil by Bo Bunny. This layout is perfect for those summer photos that are waiting for you to showcase them on a lovely layout.

Paradise

I love the way that Denise added some drops of acrylic onto her page, then sprayed water onto the drops so the paint spreads out and seeps into the paper.  This gives such a beautiful look to her background. Mixed media is really fun and there is no right or wrong way to do it.  Most important is to play and have fun with it! Click here to see Denise’s full step-by-step tutorial on how she created this fabulous layout.  It is time to break out some of those treasures you might have of beach and travel, and begin to have fun creating your own beautiful masterpiece!

Just For You By Leslie Miller

I really enjoy working with die cuts. They make my projects work up quickly and also give some dimension to them, not to mention how beautiful they always turn out!  This darling card was created with several die cuts and an embossing folder.

Just For You

Leslie Miller created this fabulous card.  She completed it by stamping the adorable birds, coloring them with Prismacolor pencils, and shading with soft chalks.  She colored her birdhouses and flowers with Copic markers.  Be sure to pop on over to Running With Scissors to get all the supplies you will need to create this fun card.

Saturdays-with-LeAnn

Hi everyone, and happy Saturday to you!  Since it is Saturday, that means more inspiration for your weekend! I always get so excited to share new ideas with you. Get comfy and enjoy some fun projects that I believe will give you a ton of inspiration.

Baby It’s Cold Outside By Susie Bentz

This is a perfect project for me to write about today since it is actually snowing very hard here in Utah right now! 🙂  I would like to share this wonderful layout created by Susie Bentz. Susie created her own grid for this layout and I love the way she was able to incorporate multiple small photos on this beautiful layout. This is such a perfect way to display her winter photos!

Baby It's Cold Outside

I also enjoy traditional pocket page layouts since the purpose of that style of scrapbooking is that you can choose to keep pages simple. Pocket pages are such a great way to complete an album very quickly. You can add as much or as little as you like to one pocket at a time. Susie created this adorable layout in the same form as a pocket page without using a page protector. Come with me over to “My Time To Play” where you will see how Susie created the grid for her layout. You could also make adjustments to this design to fit into a traditional pocket page protector, too, if you prefer.

I Love You By Heather

In just a few weeks it will be Valentine’s Day, so my friends, it is time to start thinking of the fun cards you want to get started on! I have an adorable card to share with you that was created by Heather, who used a beautiful and simple watercolor wash for her background.

I Love You

Heather created her heart from a wafer die from Simon Says called You Have My Heart. It just wouldn’t be a Valentine’s card without adding a heart. This is such a beautiful handmade card; can’t you just imagine giving this to someone you love for Valentine’s Day? I think it’s a wonderful statement of showing your love to that special person. Click here and I will take you over so you can start gathering everything you will need for this lovely card. Have fun creating!

Love You By Virginia Lu

Here is another fun Valentine’s card; this beautiful card uses a die as a stencil. What a great way of creating a fun background for your card. Hearts are something that never go out of style, and are so fun to use, especially in February. I often use them in my own creating. If you haven’t used this technique give it a try, you will be sure to use this technique more than just once.

Love You

I’m sure you, too, have fallen in love with this fun card. I recommend that you click here to stop by and visit Virginia. She has beautiful projects with great instructions, along with a full supply list available just for you.

Photo Lamp By Jody Arsenault

Not enough wall space or table tops for all of your precious pictures?  A photograph lamp is such a unique way to preserve those special memories and keep them permanently on display.

Photo Lamp

Create your fun lamp by using a few larger photos, more smaller photos, or mix them together. You can print them in color or black and white. Your imagination will be your creation. Click here for a full tutorial from Jody Arsenault on how to create your fun and unique lamp shade. This would make a beautiful and most thoughtful gift as well.
