Designer Spotlight with Paige Evans: Felicity Wilson

Felicity Wilson makes the most beautiful, layered, and textured projects! She’s truly a well-rounded crafter and dabbles in card making, traditional layouts, mini albums, and Project Life!

Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started crafting: I’m Felicity, a wife and mumma to 3 kiddos. I live on a large farm so if I’m not inside being creative then I am outside being creative in the garden or helping out on the farm. I have always been crafter, right as a little kiddo. I was one those kiddos that would sit and colour in all day, chop up paper and glue it back down!! When my eldest son was born 8 years ago, I started to really get into paper crafts, I dabbled a little bit before his birth, but more so after as I wanted to freeze and document his special moments. Still today, I’m paper crafting and recording my kiddos’ memories 🙂

Favorite thing to create: If I had to choose just one, it would be Project Life. Simply because I’m freezing the moments and recording as much as I can about the kiddos’ lives.

What do you love about this hobby? I love being able to freeze the moment and record it. I know in a few years my grey matter will fail, so by having all the moments and photos recorded, we can all chatter and giggle about the days back then!!

5 fun facts about yourself:
1. I love shoes. I once had 100 pairs in my early teenage years!
2. I can’t stand moths. Give me a snake anyday, just not a moth!! LOL
3. If I can’t be sticking paper and glue down, I will be out in my garden. I love growing and picking pretty flowers.
4. I’m an organised person. I can’t function without a to do list!
5. I went sky diving many years ago to try and overcome my fear of heights. I’m still scared of heights, but don’t regret the sky dive, it was beautiful!

Here is a set of cards Felicity made for her spotlight!

CARDS by Felicity Wilson

I love using up scraps and bits and pieces off my desk. I love to challenge myself by simply creating something from all the bits around me and that’s what I did with these tags. Very satisfying!

MINI ALBUM by Felicity Wilson

I love being able to put a series of photos together in a mini album, just as I did here of my daughter. The photos truly tell the story.

PROJECT LIFE by Felicity Wilson

When creating Project Life pages, I like to try and incorporate new techniques, so here I did a lot of hand stitching, which is something I just love to do.

BUTTERFLY LAYOUT by Felicity Wilson

I find fussy cutting really therapeutic. This is what I have done, is sat and relax with the scissors and butterflies and it’s still one of my favorite pages hanging on my wall 🙂

LOVELY LAYOUT by Felcitiy Wilson

This is also another favorite layout of mine because it incorporates some of my favorite techniques. Hand stitching, mixed media, and fussy cutting!

Thank you so much for visiting today! I hope you are as inspired by Felicity’s creations as I am!

Designer Spotlight with Paige Evans: Brandi Kincaid

Brandi Kincaid is a true artist! She can draw and illustrate like the best of them and I am so thrilled to introduce you to her in today’s spotlight and share some of her favorite layouts and projects!

Name: Brandi Kincaid
Location: Bellingham, WA
Instagram: @brandi_kincaid

Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started crafting: I’ve been crafting since I was very, very little, coming from a long line of seamstresses, knitters, painters, and quilters, but I didn’t start scrapbooking until 2013. I began Project Life in the fall of that year, just after my mother was diagnosed with cancer, in an effort to capture more of this everyday life that changes so quickly. As of July 2016, this crafty adventure is now my full time job, trading in my cubicle for illustration work, and designing for my own shop, as well as other awesome businesses. When I am not drawing or playing with paper, I am usually outside with my nose in a book, spending time with the incredible birds who visit our yard, or inside watching re-watching old, but amazing episodes of “Murder, She Wrote”.

Favorite thing to create: Right now, I’m really loving super simple mini books, and layouts with multiple photos used in creative ways.

What do you love about this hobby? I love that memory keeping encourages me to slow down, pay attention, and then tell about it. It’s so easy to get caught up in the daily flow of life and not always see what’s happening and changing around us, but the act of telling those stories requires that we notice more than just the big, flashy events; memory keeping has the power to make even a Monday magical.

5 fun facts about yourself:
1. My legal name is spelled with a “y”, but I wanted to be unique and special in 6th grade and started using an “i”, and it just kind of stuck. (I also dotted my “i” with a star for the remainder of middle school, so in case there was any doubt about how cool I was, or wasn’t…).
2. I ALWAYS have gummy bears handy when I’m crafting.
3. I know all of the lyrics to Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” and I sing/rap them as loud as I can while listening to the song very, very loud through my wireless headphones every time I am working on a major deadline.
4. I once dressed up as a Picasso Painting for Halloween in fourth grade, and won an award for best costume as “trash”. To be fair, it was during a very big anti-littering time in my elementary school, so I guess it was easy to think I was going for “don’t be a litter bug” and not “this is my cubist period”.
5. I could eat bread and jam for every meal.

I knew there was no one I could choose just one of my dear friend’s photos for this layout about her, so I decided to use them all by “clipping” them into the glue bottle shape I used digitally, and I am so glad I did! This layout paired these printed digital elements with some floral die cuts and lots of glitter, the last of which is a little out of my comfort zone, but it was so much fun to pull together.

WE BECOME STORIES by Brandi Kincaid

It’s really important to me to tell ALL my stories, the good and the tough ones. Using bright, beautiful colors and interesting shapes help create a balance on the page when the story I am telling is a little bit harder to tell. I used a repeating label pattern for both the photos and and journaling in order to create this layout. A mixture of very old photos and new ones made this page such a gift, telling one story with both the past and the present.

I love documenting the very small, seemingly silly pieces of life, so figuring out how to arrange a bunch of photos of my feet as I learned to get a good shot over time, as well as my illustrated instructions for how I made it work, was a fun challenge for this layout. Making the shapes of the photos work together really helped create a layout that could hold a lot without loosing track of its story.

ON THE PLAYLIST by Brandi Kincaid

To capture a story about all of the mystery podcasts I was listening to, I thought about how pieces together the parts of a story are not all that unlike the quilting my mother and grandmother were always doing, so I echoed that connection with the little paper polygons, rebuilding the photo out of the shapes.

DRIVE by Brandi Kincaid

I love making my photos work for me, and because I don’t have a wide format printer, pulling this image of a lovely bouquet over two standard 8.5×11 pages offered room to journal, too. I love using my electronic cutting machine to create large, simple titles to put it all together

WOW right?! Thank you so much to Brandi for letting me shine the spotlight on her and I can’t wait to continue following along in all of her adventures and endeavors!

Designer Spotlight with Paige Evans: Tori Bissell

Tori Bissell is a gal after my own heart – she LOVES to use patterned paper and lots of it! So I’m excited to introduce you to her today and share lots of her beautiful pages including a brand new one made just for her spotlight!

Name: Tori Bissell
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

YouTube: Tori Bissell
Pinterest: @tori_bissell
Facebook: scrapyourscraps

Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started crafting: Hi, my name is Tori. I love when my hands are covered in ink and my hair has sparkles in it. I love when my pockets are filled with buttons and my desk is sprinkled with sequins. I collect movie stubs, hotel keys, brochures, flyers, and recipes. I see colour everywhere and a world of inspiration. My fingers are itching to create and my camera is always at the ready. I am a maker, a creator, a designer, a dreamer, and an artist. I started scrapbooking almost 3 years ago. I had just returned from a year and a half of touring with the African Children’s Choir around North America and the UK and I had thousands of photos and piles of memorabilia I wanted to do something with. I started searching Pinterest for ideas when I stumbled upon Project Life and I was instantly hooked. Project Life seemed like the perfect way collect and document all my memories. As I dove deeper and deeper into Project Life, I began seeing scrapbook layouts which amazed me and I decided to give that a go. I fell head over heals in love with all things scrapbooking and paper crafting and even started a YouTube channel so I could share my projects. When I was finished scrapbooking my time with the African Children’s Choir I didn’t want to stop, so I just kept going. I discovered a passion I never knew I had and I guess as they say, the rest is history.

Favorite thing to create: I love creating 12×12 scrapbook layouts – especially if I can use scrap paper and my punches. Mixing patterned paper and adding adorable embellishments – does it get any better than that?

What do you love about this hobby? I love that scrapbooking gives me this creative outlet where I can put my heart on the page. I love that I can capture my memories and document them with pretty papers and pretty embellishments. And I LOVE the incredible scrapbooking community I’ve found online. As an extreme introvert, I don’t have a ton of friends but through scrapbooking I’ve met so many Incredible friends. I’m blown away by how supportive and encouraging complete strangers are and what incredible inspiration you can find online.

5 fun facts about yourself:
1. I almost exclusively use my hot glue gun as my adhesive.
2. I collect vintage cameras.
3. I’ve been to 21 different countries.
4. I’m allergic to kiwi. Who knew a fuzzy green fruit could be a death trap.
5. My favourite colours are pink, pink, and pink.

LOVE YOU by Tori Bissell

My grandma Pat has alzheimer’s; she doesn’t know who I am, she doesn’t know where she is, and she lives in a state of confusion – but she is the most happy, joyful, content person you will ever meet. She inspires me everyday! I thought it would be fun to create a page all about how she inspires me so I used my square punch to create 2″ squares and folded them to super cool exploding boxes – I love how much texture it adds to the page.

EVERYTHING by Tori Bissell

When my grandpa passed away this year there were just so many emotions swelling up within me I wanted to find a way to document how much he meant to me. I found this incredible stamp by Wild Whisper which said “Everything I am you helped me to be” and it was exactly what I wanted to say. While I miss him terribly, creating this layout gave me the perfect way to put all those thoughts and emotions down.

HAPPY HEART by Tori Bissell

I absolutely love playing with my scrap paper and my punches – one day I got this great idea to punch out hundreds of tiny hearts and make a layout. I love the way the tiny hearts layered to create my own custom patterned paper background and of course hearts were the perfect way to document my aunt’s wedding.

JOSHY by Tori Bissell

One of my favourite people in the whole world is my older brother Josh (aka Joshy). When I found this older photo of him as a little boy, I knew I wanted to scrapbook about how he will always be my Joshy. I was absolutely inspired by the fall colours in the photo to make this giant pile of leaves using my scraps.

DECEMBER DAILY 2015 COVER by Tori Bissell

As you can probably tell, embellishments are one of my favourite things in the whole world! For my 2015 December Daily Album I decided to create this really fun project by making a deer head out of all my favourite embellishments. I love how bright, textured, and detailed he turned out.

I hope you are inspired to try using up some scraps like Tori has done on so many of her amazing projects!

Designer Spotlight with Paige Evans: Jana Eubank

Thanks for stopping by and joining us today! We’re shining the spotlight on the very talented Jana Eubank and can’t wait to share her exclusive page as well as a few more of her favorite projects including a super cute paper mixer!

Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started crafting: Growing up in a family that owned a printing/copying business, paper has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I loved to go to my dad’s shop and bring home several sheets of the beautiful colored papers to create books, cards, and drawings. My love of paper bled over to all kinds of stickers, stationery sets, markers, colored pencils, watercolors, and art classes in school. When I was in high school, my mom attended a Creative Memories party. She came home and showed me what she made. I immediately thought to myself, “I want to do that!” Ever since then I have been scrapbooking in one form or another.

Favorite thing to create: My favorite thing to create is scrapbook layouts for our family albums. Not only do I love reminiscing and recording about all the times we have had together, but I admittedly have a terrible memory! If I don’t take pictures or write things down, it may as well not have happened. Ha! I also really love to create dimensional paper crafts. My favorite are die cut boxes in clever shapes and themes, but I also enjoy creating home decor, seasonal decorations, and party projects.

What do you love about this hobby? I always say that I love that the end result of this hobby is a meaningful keepsake for my family (and I do!)… but if I’m completely transparent, what I really love the most is the actual process of playing with all of the products, tools, and supplies! I love seeing what the manufacturers come out with each release. I love shopping and collecting the things that catch my eye. My favorite kind of day is when I have time to pull out a myriad of supplies and spend the afternoon challenging my creativity!

5 fun facts about yourself:
1) My favorite holiday is Halloween. Not in the creepy-gory way, but in the whimsical, magical way.
2) I love camping with my family in our RV. The mountains speak to my soul and make me so happy!
3) I secretly would love to own a small, hometown shop of some kind… a cute little bakery with cupcakes, cakes, and pies, a charming flower shoppe, or a seasonal home decor store.
4) I don’t really like watching the latest TV shows. Instead I watch reruns of “Friends” and “Little House on the Prairie.” They are my favorites and never get old!
5) I love bluegrass music and used to play the mandolin in a small band in college.

LEARN AND GROW by Jana Eubank

A great way to unify photos taken during different times or with clashing colors is to change them to black and white in a photo editing program. It is also a great way to give your page a timeless feeling when you are scrapbooking about a life-lesson, rather than an event.

This page features two of my favorite scrapbooking techniques. Lately, I am obsessed with fussy-cutting flowers and using them as page embellishments. I also really love die-cutting; both with my manual metal dies and with my Silhouette Cameo machine. Here I used metal dies for the hearts and black letters along with the electronically cut “MOM” word for my page title.

LOVE YOU by Jana Eubank

I am obsessed with patterned paper and feel so lucky to create for my favorite manufacturers. On this page, I took a Faith-based paper collection by Simple Stories and made it work for some everyday snapshots of my kids. I mentioned above that I love to fussy-cut flowers from patterned paper, but I also love cutting out letters and phrases from pocket cards to use for my title work, like I did here!

TODAY I AM… by Jana Eubank

This was such a fun page to put together! I collect a lot of stamps, but don’t ink them up as often as I should. On this day I challenged myself to utilize them in a unique way by creating my own embellishments. I stamped several images on thin cork sheets and then punched them into circles. Next, I cascaded them down the right side of the page and filled in the empty spots with another one of my favorite embellishments… Bella Blvd. puffy stickers! I love the result and had a blast making it!

Whenever I take the time to create a special 3D gift box like this kitchen mixer, I feel like I’m doing something fun for the recipient and for myself! I enjoy selecting the patterned papers for each piece and then gluing it all together. But my favorite part is the embellishing! Here I used metal dies by Echo Park Paper to create the leaves and flowers adorning both the mixer and the mixing bowl.

A big thank you to Jana for sharing her talents with us today! She is great at sharing her lovely creations so be sure to stop by her blog/instagram/facebook and more to see what she has up her sleeve!

Designer Spotlight with Paige Evans: Rebecca Keppel

Hello and welcome back to a new edition of Designer Spotlight! Today we’re getting to know Rebecca Keppel!

Name: Rebecca Keppel
Location: Arizona
Instagram: @rebeccakeppel
YouTube: rebeccakeppel
Pinterest: @rebecca_keppel
Facebook: rebecca.keppel

Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started crafting: Twelve years ago I was working as a corporate securities attorney in San Fransisco. When my daughter was born in 2005, my husband Scott and I jumped at the chance to move to Arizona where we could afford a home and a backyard. We now also have a son (they are 12 and 10 years old) and I am a stay at home mom so I can drive them to and from their charter school and activities. We’ve added two Labrador / Weimaraner puppies to our brood (Crobsby and Cole) and at a little over one year old they are 125 and 85 lbs respectively! We will probably never get used to the 115 degrees that are common in the Arizona summers, but we love the family-oriented town we live in.

I’ve always loved creating and I even had a childhood “scrapbook” with torn out magazine photos and Mrs. Grossman stickers, but it wasn’t until my oldest was born that I decided to make a first year album for her and really got bit by the papercrafting bug. I bought a few basic supplies, which turned into a few more and before I knew it, I was obsessed. I quickly accumulated enough scrapbooking supplies that I decided they should be put to other good uses as well, like card making. These days scrapbooking and card making are still my two favorite types of paper crafts. I’ve had so many amazing experiences related to paper crafts including, being a member of design teams, being published in print or online publications and getting to know other paper crafters around the world.

Favorite thing to create: It varies! I always love sitting down to make a layout, but lately I have really enjoyed the process of designing and creating cards just as much!

What do you love about this hobby? I love the mind/body connection that I experience while creating. I love the creative outlet it provides when so much of life is daily tedium. And, I love the community of like-minded people who truly understand the notion of, “I just had to have that pretty piece of paper!”

5 fun facts about yourself:
1. I grew up on the east coast and moved to San Francisco after college with no money and no job.
2. I’m an only child.
3. I’ve travelled to Quebec, several cities in France, London, Edinburgh, Amsterdam and several places in Thailand as well as several US states.
4. I love sewing on paper, but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to sew fabric. I tried to make a nightgown for my daughter’s doll once and it totally stressed me out. Ugh, SLEEVES….amiright?!
5. Before moving to Arizona I had never lived in a landlocked state. I miss the ocean!

SUMMER CHILL by Rebecca Keppel

I have been obsessed with contact photos lately. I love that using them allows me to add a bunch of photos to one layout.

POOL TIME IN APRIL by Rebecca Keppel

This layout is based on a sketch by Kristine Davidson. In the sketch there was a 4×6 photo in the top lefthand corner, but I used tiny contact photos in that space. I told you I was obsessed with tiny photos!

LOVE CARD by Rebecca Keppel

When creating cards there are few things I love more than die cutting, shakers, and rainbows!

HUGS & KISSES CARD by Rebecca Keppel

Oh and inking! I love creating inked backgrounds over stamped and heat embossed backgrounds like in this card:

HELLO CARD by Rebecca Keppel

Ombre backgrounds are a close second to rainbows in my book! This card has all my favorites: die cutting, inking, shaker, and ombre!

Thanks so much to Rebecca for sharing her many talents with us today!! Be sure to drop by her social media sites listed at the top of this post to see more of her incredible work!

Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started crafting: Since I was a teenager, I’ve always had an interest in art. I even took a few art classes in college. And taking pictures has always been my hobby since I was a teenager. When I was 21 years old, my mother invited me to a Creative Memories workshop and I’ve been hooked since! I will be honest, I totally made fun of her for scrapbooking; I had no idea how fun this hobby would be when I started. I’ve been scapbooking for 18 years and I am still learning more things as the years go by. I LOVE it. It’s my passion and my therapy. I think therapy would be cheaper though… LOL.

Favorite thing to create: I create mainly layouts, but every now and then I’ll create a mini album or card. I love making mini albums for my friends and family! I also love to frame layouts to give as gifts to my family. It makes me feel good to share something that I poured my heart and soul into.

What do you love about this hobby? I love the scrapbooking product, but mainly what I love about this hobby is the friendships I’ve built over the years! I’ve become friends with so many ladies who share the same passion as me and I just love that. And these ladies live far from me, but when I see them on Google Hangout, it’s like they are in my scrap room with me. Seriously, it’s awesome.

5 fun facts about yourself:
1. I zipped lined 355 feet in the air when I was in Costa Rica back in 2005. It was so cool.
2. When I was 19 years old, I played goalie for a Novice Adult Ice Hockey League. Getting bruises from the puck was always fun.
3. I’ve been working for a credit union for almost 9 years (same job) and I love it. I enjoy helping people. It’s what I do.
4. I love eating breakfast for dinner. I’m not a real good cook, but I can do breakfast! My favorite is French toast, scrambled eggs and bacon. Yum, although, I can never cook the bacon just right…
5. I really love to read, but my problem is I can’t seem to give up Netflix. It’s addicting!

SWEET FAMILY by Nicole Martel

I love the patterns in the Cool as a Cucumber Soup collection by Jillibean Soup and since I couldn’t decide on which patterns, I decided to use three different patterns and cut them to make them work for this layout. I love patterned paper!

A BEAUTIFUL LIFE by Nicole Martel

I created the background using heart stamps by Ali Edwards. I love the way the hearts look in orange, yellow and blue. The colors match my son’s personality in the photo.

FEELINGS VS. FACTS by Nicole Martel

For this layout, I kept the design simple, using journaling cards as my photo mat. I printed the journaling on white cardstock before embellishing this layout. I used a few stamps by Ali Edwards for my title and sub-title. I love how much impact the stamps add to this layout.

HAPPY PLACE by Nicole Martel

This layout is my most recent favorite. I used my Silhouette Portrait to sketch the digital cut file on white cardstock using a purple sketch pen. Then I used a few journaling cards to mat my photo. I decided to add some buttons in the flowers to add more dimension to the layout.

LOVE by Nicole Martel

Most of the photos that I scrapbook include candid shots. I love capturing a natural moment between two people. In this case, I whipped out my cell phone to snap this shot. My son was totally unaware… and I just love it. The Pinkfresh Studio papers and embellishments goes so well with this photo! I love when that happens.

I love how Nicole scraps in 8.5 x 11!! Scrapbooking is a little different for each of us but in the end it’s the photos preserved and memories that matter most!

Designer Spotlight with Paige Evans: Mandy Melville

I was browsing through the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog and came across projects by Mandy Melville and instantly became her newest biggest fan! I am excited to introduce her to you today and share a brand new project and a few of her favorite creations!

Name: Mandy Melville
Location: Sydney, Australia
Instagram: @mandy1980

Facebook: Mandy Melville

Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started crafting: I live just north of Sydney on the beautiful Central Coast of New South Wales in Australia. I’ve been married to Andrew for almost 15 years and together we have three kids… Abigail, who is nearly 13 years old (eek, a teenager, how did that happen!), Isaac who is nearly 10 years old, and Eleanor who is 2 ½ years old. We also have a kitten named Sasha. As well as looking after my family, I work one day a week at my local scrapbooking store, which is so much fun! I’ve been scrapbooking for about 12 ½ years, since my oldest was a baby, and my love for the craft has just grown stronger over the years! I was introduced to scrapbooking by Mum, who had been to a few Creative Memories parties, and I was instantly hooked! We still enjoy crafting together, and now my eldest daughter joins us as well! I love that I get to share this hobby with both my Mum and my daughter! Over the past couple of years I’ve been super lucky to be on some amazing design teams and I’m so thankful for these opportunities!

Favorite thing to create: I love creating 12×12 layouts, as well as traveler’s notebook spreads!

What do you love about this hobby? What I love most about this hobby is that I’m preserving my family’s precious memories! I know that if I didn’t record all of the little details, they would be forgotten. I love seeing my kids flip through the scrapbook albums that I’ve created. They love looking at the photos, but possibly even more so, they love reading the stories that I’ve recorded through the journaling. What I also love about scrapbooking is the creative outlet that it provides. As a Mum, it can be very easy to fill the hours in the day taking care of everybody else, so I really appreciate the little pockets of time in the day when I can slip away to my desk and get creative. It’s so therapeutic and relaxing! And lastly, I love that this hobby has brought so many new friends into my life – both online and in real life. I love how supportive and encouraging the scrapbooking community is and the way that we are all inspired by one another.

5 fun facts about yourself:
1. I married my high school sweetheart. We started dating when we were 17, got married when we were 21, and this year we are celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary!
2. I love Paris! I was lucky enough to visit Paris in 2009 and would LOVE to be able to go back there again one day.
3. I have a Bachelor of Commerce and 15 years experience as a trained accountant (but at the moment I’m enjoying a change of pace working one day a week at my local scrapbooking store). I think some people find it funny that I’m an accountant that loves to scrapbook, but I guess I’m not your typical accountant!
4. I really don’t enjoy cooking AT ALL and would happily hire a personal chef if I could afford to do so!
5. Two things I couldn’t live without are coffee and chocolate! Thankfully my husband is pretty good on a coffee machine!

DREAM BIG LITTLE ONE by Mandy Melville

I adore this photo of my youngest daughter sleeping and because I really wanted to do the photo justice, I’ve been waiting for just the right time to scrapbook it (does anybody else do that?). When Paige asked me if I’d like to be featured on the Scrapbook Expo blog, of course I said yes, and I knew that this would be the perfect opportunity to document this special photo. I’ve combined a few different collections on this page, including the American Crafts ‘Little by Little’ collection by Shimelle, the Cocoa Vanilla ‘Wild at Heart’ collection, and the Felicity Jane ‘Sophie’ kit. I love that these collections came together so beautifully and that they created such a soft and dreamy colour palette! I’ve also used a cut file from the Silhouette Design Store to create my title. One of my favourite techniques for creating an eye catching layout is to cut out a large feature title using my Silhouette Cameo.

HAPPY by Mandy Melville

This layout was based on a sketch designed by Laura Whitaker for Stuck?! Sketches. I love using a sketch as a jumping off point for a layout, particularly when I’m stuck for design ideas. And a grid design is always a winner in my books! This page features photos of my youngest daughter and my nephew. They are the best of friends and I love documenting the special relationship that they share. I used the Shimelle ‘Little by Little’ collection to create this page. With lots of cute embellishments, and lovely colours, it was the perfect collection for documenting these photos! I also included a handmade star embellishment from Charms Creations, as well as a rubber charm and a flair button from Felicity Jane. I had a lot of fun creating this cute and whimsical page!

CARNIVAL FUN by Mandy Melville

This layout features photos from when we took our kids to a local carnival earlier this year. My parents joined us too, and we had so much fun going on some rides and eating ice cream cones! I really wanted this page to have a carefree and fun feel to it to match the photos, and the Paige Evans ‘Take Me Away’ collection was just what I was looking for! The colours in this collection are divine and the gold foam Thickers really add that extra pop! I decided to print my photos in black and white so that I could include lots of those beautiful colours in the collection on my page. Once again I created a large title, this time using a cut file from The Cut Shoppe. I decided to tilt all of the elements on the page, which I think adds some extra fun to the layout!

HAPPY EASTER by Mandy Melville

To create this layout, I dug into my stash of Cocoa Vanilla goodies, and used six different collections on this one page. I documented a couple of cute photos of my youngest daughter enjoying her very first Easter egg. I decided on using soft, pastel colours, as these really remind me of Easter. I love to create lots of dimension on my pages, so I added foam tape underneath some of the elements on the page to give them added height. I love all of the beautiful Cocoa Vanilla papers and embellishments on this page and how well they all work together to create a soft and pretty layout.

LET’S GO by Mandy Melville

Towards the end of last year I discovered traveler’s notebooks, and now I’m completely hooked! I love scrapbooking in my notebooks and the smaller size makes it quick and easy to put a layout together. I’m using this particular notebook to document photos from a cruise that we went on last year. This photo of my eldest daughter was taken just before we set sail from Sydney. The view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge was amazing! I used a combination of the Bella Blvd ‘Secrets of the Sea’ (Girl) collection along with the Cocoa Vanilla ‘Hello Sunshine’ collection on this spread. I also used a cut file from The Cut Shoppe to cut the phrase ‘Let’s Go’, which was the perfect title for this page. I love the fresh and vibrant colour palette on this spread and those florals from the Cocoa Vanilla ‘Hello Sunshine’ collection are totally swoon-worthy!

I hope you enjoyed getting to know Mandy Melville today! Be sure to check out more of her amazing creations on her blog and instagram and such (all listed at the top of this post!) See you again soon!
