Hello Gorgeous

Are you ready to get out of the heat and into your cool, air-conditioned craft room?  It is time for me to share some creative inspiration, so it’s time for you to sit back, relax, and enjoy a little creative therapy session. You definitely deserve it, so let’s get started!

Best Day Ever By Amanda Baldwin

Take advantage of your beach surroundings by adding some soft colors and a few embellishments, and you will have a perfect layout for your vacation photos.  Children at play, the sounds of waves, hot sun, laughter, and the noise of the beach makes a day perfect!   A day on the beach is worth a thousand words.

Best Day Ever

This stunning layout was created by Amanda Baldwin using the Pink Paislee Summer Lights collection.  With a little help from Amanda and Pink Paislee, you, too, can create a beautiful beach layout in just a short amount of time.  This layout will bring back all of your fabulous memories, and what a fun way to reminisce about an amazing day at the beach.  Let me escort you on over to Happy Art Days where you can see more outstanding projects created by Amanda.  You will be so inspired by her beautiful talent.

Hello Gorgeous By Laurie Schmidlin

No paper crafter should be without a good supply of cardstock for stamping, embossing, painting, chalking, and creating backgrounds.  I love the way the rich khaki color of kraft paper looks and how it gives a homemade, comfortable feel to the card.  Laurie Schmidlin transformed a plain sheet of kraft cardstock into this gorgeous work of art.

Hello Gorgeous

For Laurie’s card, she used one of the Infinity Frames die cuts to frame a pretty floral scene.  She then stamped and die cut several images from the Give Love stamp set and coordinating Give Love die set.  For more detail on how this adorable card came together, click here and I will take you over to Laurie’s blog “Just Give Me Stamps” so you can follow along.  Using your imagination is all about creativity and taking something as simple as a piece of paper and making a beautiful piece of art.  I hope you have been inspired today to take out your stamps and dies and let your imagination run wild.  Have fun, my friends!

Gatefold Mini Album By Lisa Gregory

You all know how much I appreciate a unique mini album, and this one is no exception.  This mini album has pages, pockets, and tags.  It is a fun size and also chunky, so you can place dimensional pieces on each page and it will still close.  I am thinking this is definitely one of those that is a must do.  Just think of all the possibilities!  Mini albums always make a beautiful home decor piece, not to mention a conversational piece as well.  They are the perfect gift for any occasion and who wouldn’t appreciate receiving a handmade treasure full of priceless memories? They bring a smile to anyone’s face and an instant enjoyment for both you and the one receiving the album.

Anyone craving a fresh fruit crisp this weekend?  These adorable little single-serving desserts can be made with just about any fresh and juicy fruits, and they will give you the true taste of summer!  They are wonderful, sweet, and delicious!  I highly recommend a scoop of ice cream to go with each one.  No matter how you serve them you can’t go wrong.

Mini Mason Jar Fruit Crips

These fruit crisps are easy to make with mini mason jars, bursting with fresh and sweet fruit flavors.  They are easy to scale down for one or two people, or up to a full crowd.  The best part of all is you can make them with whatever fruit you would like!  Such a perfect little summer treat!

Welcome back, my friends.  What a better way to round out your work week than with five amazing projects from four wonderful designers, and then add to it some yummy cookies!  I hope these will be some projects that you want to create yourself.  So kick off your shoes, relax, and let’s get started!

Heritage Portrait By Delaina Burns

I am delighted today to share this beautiful layout designed by the very talented Delaina Burns.  The astonishing moments with our family are not only to be cherished, but are so very important for us to scrapbook.  I love Delaina’s layout and how she added the vintage flare to set off her old photo.

Heritage Portrait

Delaina created her beautiful page using a stenciled background along with the Artisan Powder from Prima. She also added lots of layers by mixing papers, flowers, and metals.  Don’t you just love this soft, vintage look?  All of her embellishments are a perfect match to complement her layout.  Click here and I will be happy to take you over to her blog, Delaina’s Embellished Memories, where you will find the steps to creating this page.  This is one design I am sure you will want to use again.  A big thank you to Delaina for sharing this outstanding layout with us.  Enjoy creating one of your own!

Thanks By Inge Groot

I know many of you (like me) are enjoying the shaker-card trend that is going on right now, and I hope you will be inspired to make one of your own. I would like to share this darling shaker card that was created by using the Gift Box Cover-Up-Die-namics windows.  Adding beautiful colored sequins to your card will immediately add color to your background of your card.  Step it up a notch and add a coordinating envelope to your card.  What a sweet surprise when the recipient opens the envelope to find such a fabulous card inside.

Thanks

Whether you have made dozens of shaker cards or if this is your very first, I highly recommend you stopping by the Patterned Paper blog where Inge will share the supplies needed and how she created this adorable card.  You will love how she used this window die to create a shaker card with a beautiful floral arrangement!  Thank you, Inge, for your inspiration!

Well, Hello By Cindy Lawrence

Today I would like to also share this fabulous card created with a new digital stamp set from Power Poppy called Well, Hello Dahlia.  My favorite part of this card is the fact that it is a digital file, and the best part is that you can print it as many times as you desire.

Well Hello

Digital stamps are becoming increasingly popular.  They present a stamper with a whole new range of crafting opportunities.  One of their attractions is the fact that the images can be resized, flipped to create a mirror image, or manipulated in other ways before printing it out and colored in the same way that a rubber stamped image is colored.  This gives you a range of new design opportunities.  Cindy shows us her beautiful coloring skills using Copic markers.  Click here and I would love to take you over to The Creative Closet where you can see the different colors of markers that Cindy used to create this masterpiece. Have fun creating! 🙂

Wire & Felt Flowers By Anna-Karin Evaldsson

These unique flowers are so fun to make and look great in a vase together, or just one flower on its own in a glass jar becomes a great little gift.  The flowers look very nice and decorative, and can be used for different things like gifts, napkins and many other items.  Don’t you just love the look of the twisted wire for the stems?  No need to cover them up with florist tape.  The mixed metals really step up the style.  Try making your flowers from other materials, such as printed paper, old book paper, leather, matte board, or any kind of surface that you can die cut.

Wire & Felt Flowers

So you are probably wondering how you make your wire twists, right?  There is a new tool out is called Twist & Style.  This exciting twist tool quickly and easily twists wire with other materials, including ribbon, raffia, cotton cording, plastic cording, embroidery floss, and fabric strips. The results are so amazing!  Click here to learn how to use this amazing tool. This video will show you step-by-step instructions and you will find yourself having so much fun creating with this tool.  A big thank you to Anna-Karin for another wonderful inspiration.  Have fun crafting, friends!

Coconut Lime Shortbread Cookies By Ali Ebright

You have got to try these!  If you are looking for a cookie that will make you look like a professional baker, these are the cookies for you.  Not only are they so tasty but very appealing as well.  These are full of fresh lime, coconut, and buttery flavors, and topped with a light lime glaze.  They will become one of your all-time favorites!

Coconut Lime Shortbread Cookies
You absolutely can’t go wrong with these.  I highly recommend making a double or triple batch, then you will have extras to give away or even to freeze for later.  Let me take you over to Gimme Some Oven where Ali has the recipe and ingredients for you.  With the days starting to get cooler, it is a great time to spend in your kitchen and do some baking.  Enjoy!
Thank you for sharing a bit of your Saturday with me.  I hope you have enjoyed today’s projects and you have been inspired to begin some of your own.  I am looking forward to sharing some more fun things again with you next Saturday.  Have a wonderful week ahead of you and enjoy this beautiful fall season!

Who Am I by Lynn Shokoples

This layout is one that will help you share just exactly who you are.  I love this because it is about your life; its a great way to display what you love and the things that are important to you. Pocket pages are an excellent choice for this layout because you can easily add photos to this memorable layout.  It will be treasured forever by those who love you!

Who Am I

Who Am I

Lynn used the 12 x 12″ Soiree Collection from Bo Bunny to create her cards.  To add some dimension through layering, Lynn backed some of the photos with the Lattice Frame Craft Die and some of the paper from the 6 x 6″ paper pad.  The layered chipboard is a great element that will bring dimension to your pages. Adding embellishments such as buttons, glitter sprays, and paste will bring life to your layout!  Would you like to see what else she did to create this fun layout? Let me escort you over to the Bo Bunny blog where you will enjoy all the details Lynn shares.  And I’d like to thank Lynn for sharing a fun way to scrap about the things we love!

Once Is Enough by Jill Foster

Don’t you just love how the flowers on this amazing card by Jill Foster are so bold and vibrant?  Jill added some Colorless Blender directly from the refill bottle, and flicked some of the paint using a paintbrush to give some added splatters to the watercolored background.

Once Is Enough

Jill used an ink blending tool and foam pad to add background inking. Adding an inked background still keeps the flowers bold and bright. The subtle background stamping was done using Penny Black stamps.  It’s time to pull out those Copic markers and have some fun. Let me take you on over to Studio Sessions Art where you will find the products needed to create this beautiful card. You will certainly brighten up anyone’s day by sending them this handmade, treasured card.

A Time For All Seasons by Judy Rozema

Have you been bitten by the coloring bug? 😉 With everyone coming out with their own versions of adult coloring books and all the amazing coloring mediums out there, it’s almost impossible not to. The beautiful flower on this sweet card caught my eye and I was instantly inspired to want to color my own. Judy used Koi paints to color the flower but you can use whatever you have on hand such as colored pencils, Gelatos, markers etc. Coloring is a real stress reliever, so grab something to color and let the therapy begin!

A Time For All Seasons

Stamps are a great way to create your own images to color and use in your paper crafting. If you have fallen in love with this gorgeous mum, stamp, and sentiment (Autumn Mum Greetings Clear Stamp Set) click here and I will lead the way over to the Sweet N Sassy Stamp site so you can pick up your own set. I recommend using an archival ink so your stamped images don’t smear while you are coloring with different mediums. Have fun creating your own custom embellishment! Thanks, Judy, for being such an inspiration. To see more of Judy’s designs, be sure to stop by her blog Joy In A Jar. You’re sure to leave ready to start that next project.

I can’t think of a better way to start the day. Photos are a great way to personalize all kinds of gifts, like Natasha did on this sweet decoupaged photo tray. Don’t you love it when you walk into your craft room and come out with a handmade gift?

KUNG PAO CHICKEN

Kung Pao Chicken is one of my favorite things to order at our local Chinese restaurant but it’s often a bit too spicy for my wimpy palette. One of the benefits of making this dish at home is you are in control of how spicy you want it to be. You can also switch up the veggies to include your family favorites. This one’s a keeper, so click here and I will be happy to escort you over to the Gimme Some Oven so you can print out the recipe.
