Saturdays With LeAnn

Let Your Dreams Soar

Good Saturday morning, my friends!  My favorite time of the week, time for me to share more inspiration and fun projects with you!  I hope you are all geared up to learn more new techniques and create beautiful items that will brighten your crafting weekend!  So let’s sit back, relax and enjoy today’s wonderful projects by many talented designers!

Hooray By Jill Keller

This layout is for those of you who love to add some hand stitching on your layouts.  What an adorable way to remember what age your precious child or grandchild was in their photo.  I love the look of sewing on all my papercrafts, from scrapbooking layouts to greeting cards.  Sewing and embroidery adds dimension without a lot of bulk and has the added benefit of attaching elements to the page in the process.  You can sew by hand or with your machine, and both techniques are easier than you might think.  I love the character it gives to the layout!

Hooray

Scrapbook pages are such treasured moments and memories.  Don’t you just love to pull out your scrapbooks and reminisce about all those fond memories?  Down the road you will feel like you walked through memory lane!  Jill captured a sweet moment of her darling daughter on her 5th birthday.  Jill’s layout is full of fun elements, and she has such a great way of giving layouts a nice contrast.  I am sure you would love to see more of Jill’s talent with her scrapbooking, so let me take you on over to Creating Us.  Take some time and enjoy her inspiration of her beautiful creations.

Gold, Vellum, and Layers

Danielle header

Happy November, card makers! On my project today, I’m using the beautiful Gramercy Road line by Gossamer Blue. My favorite piece in the entire line is this beautiful gold embossed floral vellum! I wanted to use this in the background of my card, so I cut a small piece to layer in the background, leaving room for a stamped sentiment at the bottom, which is stamped with Papertrey Ink’s Basket of Blessings set in Dark Chocolate and Classic Kraft inks.

Next, I layered on a tag, some leaf die cuts, a piece of chipboard and an enamel dot from the same line. Working with everything from one line really makes card making easy! Everything already coordinates.

grateful2

After looking at what I had done so far, I felt like there were too many harsh lines, so I wanted to add a couple more leaves near the bottom of the tag. This will draw your eye down the card to the sentiment and create softness next to the hard square edge of the tag. I also added a piece of seam binding to “tie” the tag onto the card. I always use Chalk White seam binding by Zipperstop. If you want to color it, you can dye it or spray it with mists and let dry before using.

The seam binding is tied in a knot and then dampened slightly to create that crinkled look. What do you think? I really love the softness those two last details added to the card.

Thank you for reading today, see you soon with more card making tips and techniques!

I love You Crazy

Love to Scrapbook?  Never Enough Time?  Run Out of Ideas?  Today’s inspiration will help with all of those.  Today we have a page design created by Emily Spahn.  Emily shares this wonderful layout that uses at least six different manufacturers products.    This month’s Gossamer Blue kit has add-ons that all go so perfectly well together.  This is a fun way of scrapbooking.  It is so easy and you will really get your layout finished.

I Love You Crazy

Using all of the different elements together created a fun monochromatic layout.
