Hello, my crafty friends, and welcome back to Weekly Scrapper. You’re just in time for today’s creative therapy, so sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Altered 3D Recipe Box featuring Family Recipes – with Solange

Are you ready to walk into your craft room and come out with a fun and oh-so-useful recipe box? We all have those favorite recipes that are written on the back of a napkin or whatever was handy at the moment, right? Well, with a little help from our friends over on the Bo Bunny Blog you can crank out several of these recipe boxes in no time – one for you and a few to give as gifts for the quickly approaching holidays.

Solange created this adorable recipe box using the new Family Recipes collection. I hope you’ve been inspired to create your own unique project. For a complete supply list click here and I will take you over to the BoBunny blog so you can take down some notes. You are going to be amazed at how quickly this adorable recipe box comes together.

Dark To Light Art Journal Pages By Chris Cresswell

This is one of those pieces that makes my heart sing. I instantly fell in love with the different hues of blues and greens (my favorite color combo) and all the contrasting stamps and doodles. Not to worry, if you’re not a doodler, Chris used Kim Dellow’s gorgeous stamp set titled “Eclectica³” along with some of her precious geli prints to create those fun whimsical flowers. You’ll be happy to know that this set also comes with stencils to perfectly coordinate your projects. You get the mask and the stencil of the outer shape which can also be used as a frame. You are going to love it!

Remeber one of the only mistakes that you can make with your art is fear. Many crafters get caught up with their art being perfect, but art doesn’t have to be perfect nor do you have to follow someone else’s rules. If it makes you happy, then it is perfect as it is. Be one with your project and enjoy what you have created. Hugs to Chris for sharing this gorgeous work of art.

Under the Sea by Jennie

In honor of an amazing summer, I thought you might be inspired by this beautiful piece of art created by the very talented Jennie Atkinson. Would you believe that this little treasure started out as a plain Square Birch Ply Wood Plaque? These plaques are great to use for mixed media projects as you can really use a lot of products on them and they hold up great.  You can find them on the Calico Craft Parts site; click here and I’ll take you over for a visit.

Jennie really is the queen of fine detail. I highly recommend stopping by her blog Live The Dream any time you are in need of some serious inspiration. You are going to love her shabby, vintage style. Hugs to Jennie for being such a constant inspiration to her fellow paper crafters.

30-Minute Caprese Chicken Recipe By Heidi

With a little help from our friend Heidi, you can have chicken on the table and create beautiful things in your craft room in no time.  What’s not to love, with just a few simple ingredients, you can make this stand out, one-pan chicken breast dinner in under 30 minutes – then it’s back to the craft room where we belong.  🙂 At the end of a crazy day, creating beautiful things can be a real stress reliever.

I’d like to send a shout out to Heidi for carrying the team when it comes to kicking it up a notch (or maybe several notches) in the kitchen. Foodiecrush is one food blog you don’t want to miss, you are going to be amazed at how creative Heidi is withher recipes.

Thanks for spending a bit of your Sunday with me. I’m on my way to the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo in Marlborough, MA, so if you happen to be in the neighborhood we would love to meet you in person. The show will be on September 8th & 9th at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel located at 181 Boston Post Rd W, Marlborough, MA. I’ll meet you at the Creativity Center!

I do hope you will take a minute or two to visit the individual blogs I have shared today so you can see more details on how these wonderful projects were created. Hugs to all who have shared the inspiration for today’s post.

Good day, my crafty friends, and welcome back to Weekly Scrapper! It’s time for some creative therapy, so sit back, relax, and enjoy. You deserve a little ME time!

You Make Me Happy By Riikka

Have you had the opportunity to play with a Gelli plate? Monoprinting on a Gelli plate is simple, fun, and a great way to create unique backgrounds. I love the fact that you don’t need to purchase any expensive tools to create your own works of art, you can use things that you already have on hand, such as bubble wrap, plastic grids, foam stamps, stencils, leaves, different fibers, ribbons, and lace to create interesting imagery on your plate. The gratification is immediate, and the prints are amazing!

You Make Me Happy By Riikka Kovasin

As you can see by this beautiful layout designed by Riikka, creating your own unique background is just a few simple supplies away. To check out how easily this layout came together, click here and I will be honored to escort you over to Riikka’s blog Paperiliitin. I highly recommend watching the step-by-step video that Riikka has prepared to inspire her fellow paper crafters. You’re going to love it!

I know it’s hard to believe but not everyone is a talented paper crafter like you are. How sweet would it be to create a beautiful set of cards all wrapped up and tied with a bow, then gift them to someone special. What a perfect random act of kindness.

A Bit Of Kindness Card Set By Jenn Shurkus

A Little Help Organizing Your Craft Room

We can all use a little help when it comes to keeping our treasured craft supplies organized. I instantly fell in love with this adorable cart that can be purchased at your local Ikea store. The cart has four casters which makes it easy for you to move around. If your craft room looks like mine, space is very limited so it’s small size is definitely a plus.

Updated Raskog Cart Organisation

You can use the cart in different ways, including as an extra work area in the kitchen, as practical storage in the hall, or as a unique nightstand in your bedroom. The adjustable middle section is easy to move to adapt to different storage needs. If you, too, have fallen in love the RÅSKOG Utility cart (it runs about $29.99) click here and I will take you over to the Ikea website so you can check availability in your area.

Honey Garlic Shrimp

Thanks to Kevin & Amanda you can have this delicious meal on the table in under an hour. Not only is this tasty dish perfect for those “need-it-in-a-hurry” moments, but it’s also on the healthy side. Sautéed shrimp and red bell peppers are poured over a bed of spiraled zucchini and yellow squash. So delicious and flavorful!

Honey Garlic Shrimp

Let’s take a trip over to Kevin & Amanda’s blog so you can print out the recipe. Just click here – you and your family are going to love this simple summer dinner.

Thanks for stopping by; I hope you have a wonderfully creative week ahead of you. With summer in full swing that means the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo is on the move and we have great things planned for you. Click here and I will take you over to our website so you can start planning an amazing weekend with some of your fellow paper crafters. I’ll meet you at the Creativity Center!

It’s A Girl By Delaina Burns

It's A Girl

Delaina created this page using the Vintage Baby Collection from Maja Designs. The soft papers give this a monochromatic feel and enhance the sweet photo.  I definitely will have to create one of these for my granddaughter’s photos.  Click here and you will see how Delaina created her layout and the supplies she used.  This is one of those “must do” to put on your “to do” list!

Celebrate By Jennie Atkinson

How many of you have a box of leftover papers?  Recently I moved into a new home, and I was ashamed at myself when I realized that I had four large boxes that were nothing but scraps!  It was a great eye opener to me that I need to start using those papers instead of only collecting them.  This darling card caught my eye when I realized it was created using Jennie’s scraps.

Celebrate

You will be so surprised at all the beautiful things you can create with your scraps! Jennie pulled her papers together and used layering stencils, distress inks, and a fun stamp from the Classics #13 stamp set by Tim Holtz.  Come with me over to Country View Crafts where you will see a variety of the same style cards using different papers.  You will also find a supply list of what you need to create these beautiful cards.

Hello There By Nichole Heady

I love cards!  Whether they are simple or detailed; cards are as fun to make as they are to receive.  I just love sharing the finished product with the special people in my life.  You can create them by adding beautiful papers, embellishments, and then finishing them off with sweet sentiments. This one is for all of you very talented stampers and card makers.  I love the fun and simple stamping techniques that Nichole used on this adorable card.  This is a perfect card to make it into a shaker card.

Springtime Basket By Gloria Stengel

I don’t know about you but I am certainly ready for spring.  Creating this darling little basket will take you away from the winter blues, and will also have you one step ahead on a spring décor item for your home.  I am crazy about the vibrant color combination that Gloria chose; I just love aqua and pink together.

Springtime Basket

This would make a great home décor piece for Easter just by adding some decorated eggs, candy, or even more flowers tucked in the basket.  Click here and you will see how Gloria created her basket.  Have fun creating! 🙂

Peanut Butter Banana Energy Bites By Becky Hardin

Let’s start out by saying these are unbelievably quick and easy to make.  They are chock full of protein, and oh, are they tasty!  These healthy bites of energy are so good for all of us. I am one who loves sweets, so I have to say at first I was hesitant when I saw “Energy” in the title.  After making these, I now have a favorite treat!  I love that these no bake energy bites are great treats that you can feel good about feeding your kids.  My grandchildren love them!

You Light Up My Life designed by Susan

The priceless photos on this layout were the first thing that caught my eye, but upon further inspection I was also drawn to all the fine details that Susan used to create this adorable layout. I love how she sliced open the faux seams along the lines of her patterned paper and inserted ribbon underneath the opening. Peeling back the paper makes it look like metal peeled back; so clever.

You Light Up My Life

Scrapbooks are a reminder of all that is special to us, a record of your journey through life. Kudos to you for taking on this very important responsibility of preserving your treasured memories. As scrappers it’s our nature to gather priceless photos and bits of our past and lovingly store them in our scrapbooks. I’d like to send out a big hug to Susan and The Urban Scrapbook for sharing today’s inspiration piece.

Listen To Your Heart designed by Jennie Atkinson

It’s hard to believe that this soft, shabby chic piece started out bright and bold! Jennie started the background using Tim Holtz Distress inks in some bold colors layered over a piece of grey board covered in gesso.  I love how the gesso really toned down the vibrant colors.

It’s All About The Beach

Since we are in the final days of summer, I thought you might enjoy a summer-themed project (it’s ok to want to hold onto that carefree summer feeling just a bit longer). After all, you have those great pictures that you’ve taken this summer. Check out the great fishing net embellishment that Linda used to pull her beach theme together. Would you believe that Linda made it herself?! I recommend hopping on over to her blog It All Started With Paint so you can check out her wonderful step-by-step instructions and photos. You’re gonna love it! Since I discovered Linda’s gorgeous wall grouping, I’ve been looking for things that I can embellish with a fishing net. 😉

It's All About The Beach

It’s time to get those summer photos off your phone and into your scrapbook (or in this case, the wall). Think of this project as a proper farewell to another amazing summer. Not to worry, I think you still have a few fun beach days before Fall is in full swing. I’d like to send out a virtual hug to Linda for sharing her beautiful design with us!

Make It Happen designed by Jennie Atkinson

Don’t you love the gorgeous, inky background all dressed in the tranquil colors of summer? It reminds me of the ocean. What a great tag for your summer-themed projects and a great way to use up those extra chipboard numbers that you have stashed in the draw, or in my case, a mason jar.

Make It Happen By Jennie Atkinson

I highly recommend stopping by and spending some creative time with Jennie Atkinson, author of the blog Live The Dream. She really is full of inspiration and extremely talented. Remember, there’s no stress allowed in our craft world; just dive in and have some fun with your art!

Printable Dry Erase Menu

Do you like to plan out your menu ahead of time? Are you tired of the familiar “Mom!! what’s for dinner?” Then you need this adorable Dry Erase Menu Frame in your life, right? 😉 How handy that there is a section for a small grocery list. How many times have you planned on something for dinner, only to find out you are missing an important ingredient and there isn’t any time to take a trip to the store? Bummer, isn’t it?

Printable Dry Erase Menu

But wait, there’s more (lol)! You even have choices about what color you want your free printable menu to be. Pretty cool! Thanks to Super Moms and the lovely ladies at Tatertots & Jello; we appreciate you sharing.

Be sure to hop on over to the Tatertots & Jello blog where you can print out your Free Printable Dry Erase Menu Board. The great thing about a dry erase menu is how easy it is to change things up. I always have extra frames and chalkboard paint so this is pretty much a free project; ya gotta love it. I think the girls had a Super Mom Moment when they designed this fun yet functional project.

Chinese Chicken Salad

This isn’t your typical Chinese Chicken Salad; it’s so much more. It’s a perfect dish when it’s your turn to host a craft day because it can be served cold or at room temperature. You can make it days before your guests arrive, leaving you more time to spend chillin’ with your peeps. 😉 I know the girls are going to love it and I hope you do, too.
