Ghols Just Want To Have Fun

Welcome back, my crafty friends!  The weather here in Utah has become chilly, and with days like today I really enjoy staying inside and crafting in my office.  I hope you will be able to spend your day creating something you’ll love.  I just love this time of year!  Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, and since it’s coming soon, I thought it would be fun to share a few festive projects with you today.  I hope you will enjoy each one.  Remember, it isn’t too late to create some of your Halloween projects for the year!

Dream Chaser By Missy Whidden

Isn’t it funny how one scrap of paper can inspire an entire layout?  Are you ready to do some great things with your products?  Hopefully this layout will give you some added inspiration.  Who doesn’t love a little extra color in their world?  Even though there are a lot of beautiful details and dimension to this layout, the photo is still the first thing your eye is drawn to.  I love how Missy went around the edges of the leaves with some white gesso, and then added gold Color Shine and a few gelatos to add color around the edges.  Also notice the metallic gold machine stitching through the center of each leaf.

Dream Chaser

Missy really created a masterpiece.  Most important, remember there are no set rules when crafting, just have fun with it.  I highly recommend stopping by Little Nugget Creations where you will find a video tutorial on how Missy put her layout together.  The possibilities are endless!  Give it a try you will love the results!

Welcome back, my friends.  What a better way to round out your work week than with five amazing projects from four wonderful designers, and then add to it some yummy cookies!  I hope these will be some projects that you want to create yourself.  So kick off your shoes, relax, and let’s get started!

Heritage Portrait By Delaina Burns

I am delighted today to share this beautiful layout designed by the very talented Delaina Burns.  The astonishing moments with our family are not only to be cherished, but are so very important for us to scrapbook.  I love Delaina’s layout and how she added the vintage flare to set off her old photo.

Heritage Portrait

Delaina created her beautiful page using a stenciled background along with the Artisan Powder from Prima. She also added lots of layers by mixing papers, flowers, and metals.  Don’t you just love this soft, vintage look?  All of her embellishments are a perfect match to complement her layout.  Click here and I will be happy to take you over to her blog, Delaina’s Embellished Memories, where you will find the steps to creating this page.  This is one design I am sure you will want to use again.  A big thank you to Delaina for sharing this outstanding layout with us.  Enjoy creating one of your own!

Thanks By Inge Groot

I know many of you (like me) are enjoying the shaker-card trend that is going on right now, and I hope you will be inspired to make one of your own. I would like to share this darling shaker card that was created by using the Gift Box Cover-Up-Die-namics windows.  Adding beautiful colored sequins to your card will immediately add color to your background of your card.  Step it up a notch and add a coordinating envelope to your card.  What a sweet surprise when the recipient opens the envelope to find such a fabulous card inside.

Thanks

Whether you have made dozens of shaker cards or if this is your very first, I highly recommend you stopping by the Patterned Paper blog where Inge will share the supplies needed and how she created this adorable card.  You will love how she used this window die to create a shaker card with a beautiful floral arrangement!  Thank you, Inge, for your inspiration!

Well, Hello By Cindy Lawrence

Today I would like to also share this fabulous card created with a new digital stamp set from Power Poppy called Well, Hello Dahlia.  My favorite part of this card is the fact that it is a digital file, and the best part is that you can print it as many times as you desire.

Well Hello

Digital stamps are becoming increasingly popular.  They present a stamper with a whole new range of crafting opportunities.  One of their attractions is the fact that the images can be resized, flipped to create a mirror image, or manipulated in other ways before printing it out and colored in the same way that a rubber stamped image is colored.  This gives you a range of new design opportunities.  Cindy shows us her beautiful coloring skills using Copic markers.  Click here and I would love to take you over to The Creative Closet where you can see the different colors of markers that Cindy used to create this masterpiece. Have fun creating! 🙂

Wire & Felt Flowers By Anna-Karin Evaldsson

These unique flowers are so fun to make and look great in a vase together, or just one flower on its own in a glass jar becomes a great little gift.  The flowers look very nice and decorative, and can be used for different things like gifts, napkins and many other items.  Don’t you just love the look of the twisted wire for the stems?  No need to cover them up with florist tape.  The mixed metals really step up the style.  Try making your flowers from other materials, such as printed paper, old book paper, leather, matte board, or any kind of surface that you can die cut.

Wire & Felt Flowers

So you are probably wondering how you make your wire twists, right?  There is a new tool out is called Twist & Style.  This exciting twist tool quickly and easily twists wire with other materials, including ribbon, raffia, cotton cording, plastic cording, embroidery floss, and fabric strips. The results are so amazing!  Click here to learn how to use this amazing tool. This video will show you step-by-step instructions and you will find yourself having so much fun creating with this tool.  A big thank you to Anna-Karin for another wonderful inspiration.  Have fun crafting, friends!

Coconut Lime Shortbread Cookies By Ali Ebright

You have got to try these!  If you are looking for a cookie that will make you look like a professional baker, these are the cookies for you.  Not only are they so tasty but very appealing as well.  These are full of fresh lime, coconut, and buttery flavors, and topped with a light lime glaze.  They will become one of your all-time favorites!

Coconut Lime Shortbread Cookies
You absolutely can’t go wrong with these.  I highly recommend making a double or triple batch, then you will have extras to give away or even to freeze for later.  Let me take you over to Gimme Some Oven where Ali has the recipe and ingredients for you.  With the days starting to get cooler, it is a great time to spend in your kitchen and do some baking.  Enjoy!
Thank you for sharing a bit of your Saturday with me.  I hope you have enjoyed today’s projects and you have been inspired to begin some of your own.  I am looking forward to sharing some more fun things again with you next Saturday.  Have a wonderful week ahead of you and enjoy this beautiful fall season!

Saturdays-with-LeAnn

Well, another week has flown by and I do hope you all had a wonderful week.  It is so fun this time of year to start planning those fall projects, so sit back, relax, and enjoy. It is time to show you some fun projects that will bring oodles of creative inspiration to your day!

Captured Moments By Cathy Cafun

Today I want to inspire you with this beautiful layout that has a lovely vintage/shabby chic feel.  I love the soft muted brown, cream, and blue colors, with a beautiful range of floral and textures that give it that rustic feel.  This layout has all the components of a perfect page.  Micro-beads are a fabulous way to add more texture to your layout.  Cathy used a touch of gold micro-beads on the leaves by dipping a small brush in clear gloss varnish and randomly brushing over the leaves, which really gives them a pop.

Captured Moments

Cathy added a beautiful lacy chipboard coated with Dusty Attic acrylic paint behind the photo to give it a lovely, feminine touch.  She finished it off by adding a touch of lace to the torn layers and hessian twine to frame the photo. This definitely will pop and draw your eyes to the photo.  I hope you have been inspired by this beautiful layout.  Let’s pop on over to “Cathy Can’t Help Herself” where you will find additional details on how this fabulous page was created.  You will find yourself so inspired by Cathy and her wonderful talent.

Happy Fall By Anna-Karin

Here in Utah it is starting to feel more like fall.  The leaves are changing colors and the air is crisp.  I am having a hard time letting go of summer, but I do have to admit I love the different seasons. I especially enjoy this time of year with the vibrant colors and the beauty of fall.  With that being said, I would like to share this adorable card created by Anna-Karin.

Happy Fall

The beauty of Anna-Karin’s card is that it works great for an autumn card or you can turn it into a fun Thanksgiving card.  Anna-Karin always shares techniques that can be applied to different types of projects. The background of her card would look wonderful on a scrapbook page as well.  Come along with me over to Layers Of Ink where she will give you a full tutorial of her step- by-step autumn card.  You will be so inspired that you will want to pull out your embossing folders and stamps and begin your fall crafting!

Blessed By Kay Miller

This card certainly will brighten anyone’s day!  The beautiful watercolored background was created by using Peerless watercolors, then splattered with a little bit of red.  The “Blessed” sentiment is layered three times, adding some of the Fancy Foliage Detail die cuts, giving the the card a pretty, fall flair.

Blessed

This is such a great time of year to feel blessed, so I hope this beautiful card has inspired you to create one of your own handmade designs and mail it off to someone special.  Click here and I will take you on over to My Joyful Moments so Kay can share all of her products that she used in designing her sweet card.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Granola

The basic recipe is so easy and yummy and you can really add anything you want to it.  You can create it adding chocolate or peanut butter chips, raisins or craisins, and your favorite nuts.  If you are a coconut lover you will want to be sure to add that into your granola, too.  Your family will go crazy over this, so you might want to make a double batch it as it won’t last long!  Click here and I will take you on over to A Homemade Life Simply Kierste where she will share the ingredients and recipe with you.  Enjoy! 🙂

Sundays With Lorraine

Sundays-with-Lorraine

Happy Sunday to all! It makes me smile knowing that you’ve found some time to relax and get your craft on. So sit back, get comfy, and enjoy today’s inspiration.

Muddy Puddles by Meghann Andrew

This fun layout is a perfect reminder that journaling is a very important part of scrapbooking. I love how Meghann documents a cherished memory about a simple everyday event. It brings to mind one of my favorite quotes: “Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.” If it makes you smile, it’s a big thing, right?

Muddy Puddles

It’s important to find the little things in everyday life that make you happy and scrap them. This is one layout that will be delivering smiles for many years to come. I love how Meghann included her thoughts and feelings at time the photo was taken. I hate to admit it, but I have trouble remembering what I had for lunch yesterday – never mind things that happened 18 years ago! My daughter is 19 and I still have baby pictures that I haven’t scrapped yet (ouch), and I think smoke might come out my ears trying to remember those fun little details. There might be a little extra embellishing on those layouts. 😉

I hope this adorable layout has inspired you to journal more often in your scrapbooks because without the story of our journey through life, our scrapbooks are incomplete. Keep up the very important task of preserving your priceless memories one photo and story at a time.

Life Is Pretty Amazing

The beautiful, fun, and festive background on this inspirational card was created using stamps, stencils, paint, and GelliArts printing plates. If you haven’t given this technique a try, you’re in for a real treat. It’s a great way to get those creative juices flowing; just let go and have some fun with your art. Your completed prints can be used in so many different ways, as a card front as Shari shares here, in your art journals, scrapbooking, embellishments, and so much more.

Life Is Pretty Amazing

Don’t you just love how Shari stamped the sentiment with Versamark on vellum and heat embossed and then layered the vellum panel over the Gelli Print? It softens things up a bit yet still allows all the beautiful color to come through. Be sure to stop by Simon Says Blog where Shari has prepared a great step-by-step instructional video; you don’t want to miss it.

DIY Tie-Dye Swimsuit Cover-up

Who doesn’t love a good tie-dye?! Tiedye is a modern term invented in the mid-1960s in the United States for a set of ancient resist-dyeing techniques. It’s one of those fun, artsy looks that can’t help but make you smile. I love the bright colors, the way no two patterns ever come out the same, and the best part, it’s fun for the entire family. I recently had my daughter’s friends over for a tie-dye party. Their average age was between 18-22 and I had to laugh because not one of them had ever tie-dyed anything before. You would have thought they were the first to discover this fun art form. They all enjoyed their beautiful swimsuit cover-ups and we even had leftover dye to make some cute pillow cases.

Who doesn’t love a good tie-dye?!

Are you ready to give tie-dyeing a try? Hop on over to the Adventures Of A Middle Sister blog were Allie has some excellent instructions along with step-by-step photos. I will warn you, once you get the fever you will be looking thoughout the house for anything white (or close to white) to tie-dye. For the best results, use 100% cotton fabric. Have fun creating your one-of-a-kind swimsuit cover-up.
