Hey there Stamp & Scrapbook Expo friends and fans, Becki here, for another edition of Inspiration Station. I’m happy that you found your way to the Weekly Scrapper blog. The project I have to share with you today is using products from our Latest & Greatest Stamping workshop. These are products that workshop attendees will receive in the Latest & Greatest Stamping workshop at a few of our shows this Summer. Today, I’m working with a stamp/die set from Stephanie Barnard and the Stamps of Life AND patterned papers/embellishments from the Fancy Pants Family & Co. collection . Usually, I’m not a stamper. But recently, I’ve had a lot of fun working on a few stamping projects. When I first received this cute puppy stamp/die set, I knew that I had to make a card (or several cards) with it. After I stamped and colored the puppy image, I knew that it would go perfectly with the papers in the 6×6 paper pad from the Family & Co. collection. My preferred method of coloring stamped images is with Tombow Dual Brush Pens and a water brush. These markers come in a vast array of colors. I have a couple sets of markers in my stash and many more on my wish list. The sentiment for this card is stamped on a striped tag from the Family & Co. collection. Then, I adhered the stamped puppy to the bottom of the tag and adhered the tag/puppy cluster to layers of patterned papers to create the front of the card. The finishing touch on this card is a few sprinkles of navy shimmer ink. In my opinion a few sprinkles of ink is the perfect finishing touch to a LOT of projects. This card turned out so much better than I imagined. Watch for more projects using this stamp and die set from me. I already have a few more stamped images on my desk waiting to be colored. Thank you for stopping by for another edition of Inspiration Station. Make sure you sign up for Latest & Greatest workshops at a Stamp & Scrapbook Expo near you! You’ll LOVE these workshops!

We all know how much texture and dimension adds to a layout, card, or mixed media project. Alicia has definitely demonstrated this in this layout. We often use the term “Happy Papercrafting” because we know the opportunities with paper are so much more than just on the page. Today, Alicia shares her gorgeous example of beautiful altered art. I would also like to share a tip that will help you when creating your outstanding layouts. TIP: Choose a focal point on your layout and then create embellishments that will continue to tell the story from that point. It is amazing how well this works!
Alicia’s layout is full of all kinds of beautiful elements. It is really light and colored with some pastels, but there are also some black parts here and there to give it a nice contrast. I absolutely love that! Alicia adds wording perfectly and it tells so much about the photo. This layout is certainly an eye catcher and is very well done. Let me take you over to Time to Create where you can write down all of the products you will need to start your own layout. Take some time while you are at Alicia’s blog to see more of her beautiful creations. You will certainly leave her blog feeling very inspired.
Not sure how to use vellum? Do you ever struggle using vellum? Here’s a fun technique using vellum that will turn your curiosity (or struggles) into having fun and being very creative. You will enjoy working with vellum so much that I guarantee you will make many more projects using it. These beautiful cards created by Jennifer McGuire have a vellum overlay that give each one a very soft look.
Jennifer started her cards by simply using white embossing powder to emboss the floral image on vellum. There is a little bit of glitter added to the lines of the flower for extra interest and a pearl added to the center. Adding some color to her image, she started by stamping the layering floral image with the Altenew Beautiful Day Stamp Set using different shades of Altenew ink on a small note card. Let me escort you over to watch Jennifer’s YouTube Video on how she created her card, along with her step-by-step instructions. You are going to love every minute of her video. Step out of your comfort zone and take some time to experiment and just have fun creating!
Cards might be little, but they are packed with so much inspiration. This is one of those cards that can be so versatile. Send it as a Spring, Hello, Birthday, Thinking Of You, or even an Easter Card. Who wouldn’t love to receive this adorable card in the mail?
Melissa’s card started with the word beautiful to create the theme for her card. She used the Reverse Confetti You’re So stamp set for her sentiment. The beauty of this stamp set is it has four uplifting words that can be mixed and matched to create numerous uplifting sentiments. She also used the Blooms ‘N Buds stamp set to create the pretty blossoms. For the background, Melissa used the XOXO Hearts Confetti Cuts. Melissa’s creativity is amazing! I love her combinations and the colors she chose are so pretty and perfect! Click here and I will take you over to see more of Melissa’s wonderful talent and fabulous creations.
Lemon desserts always make me think of spring, so I wanted to take a moment to share this Luscious Lemon Cake with you. This cheery lemon cake is perfect for Easter or any festive occasions. Lemon is one of my absolute favorites and this Luscious Lemon Cake is both easy and delicious. You won’t want just one bite!
This lemon cake is probably one of the best I have ever made. Being that lemon is one of my favorite flavors; I have been making lemon cakes for many years. My children said that this has to be a new tradition in the family and I am to bring this cake now whenever we have get togethers. Let me take you on over to Love From the Oven where Christi Johnstone will share her recipe with you. Be sure and grab your pen and paper, because this is one recipe you will want to make to share with your family and friends!
Thank you for sharing a bit of your Saturday with me. I hope you have been inspired today to try something new. I am looking forward to seeing you back next week. Have a great weekend!
Hello, my friends! Welcome to another inspirational day here at Weekly Scrapper. I just returned home from our first fabulous Stamp & Scrapbook Expo show of the year. I love going to the shows and having you come by and say hello to me. It is so fun to see you and to receive a big hug! I have been collecting some really fun projects to share with you today. I hope you will find some time this weekend to create some of your own.
Scrapbook pages are always a great reminder of all that is special to us; they are a great record of your journey and the people in your life. So as a scrapbooker, it is so important to take those precious photos and add them into our scrapbooks. When I came upon this beautiful layout I was drawn to all the fine details that Amanda created; this is such a fabulous design that uses lovely colors and showcases her precious photo.
Amanda created this pretty layout using the beautiful Wild At Heart collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio. She started out by drawing a large circle onto her cardstock and then added watercolors over and around the circle. After that had dried, she did some machine stitching around the circle repeatedly to create a gentle, textured look. After gluing her butterflies into position she filled the gaps with die cuts, wood veneers, and enamel dots. Amanda’s layout is so soft and elegant; I love it! I would like to say thank you to Amanda for sharing her talent with us. She is one of the fabulous design team members at Cocoa Vanilla Studio. Click here and I will take you over to her blog Happy Arty Days where you will see more of her outstanding talent. You will definitely be inspired to start that next page!
Cards are all about letting those close to you know how much they are loved, especially on their special day. Who doesn’t love cards? Whether the are simple or detailed; cards are not only fun to give but are also very fun to make. This one is for those who love to stamp and color. This sweet card is also one that you can change the sentiment to and use it for several different occasions.
This is such a cheerful card! Kay used the stamp Forget Me Not for her flowers, and some different dies to add some dimension. Come over with me to My Joyful Moments where you will find all of the supplies you will need to get started on creating one of your own. Can you just imagine the warm feeling that will come to the person who receives this one in the mail? Not only will this card warm the heart, but it will be treasured for a life time.
A clip frame is perfect for when you want to display a favorite photograph or artwork without the distraction of a frame. What’s the best part of this fun frame? It will only cost you around five dollars to make. Yes, you heard that right! Clip frames feature an easy-to-use clasp that makes your photos stand out in a unique way, so the artwork stands alone.
Find a special space on your walls, or set this on a table where you can show off that special photo. Create several of these rustic warm wood frames and personalize your display. Let me take you over to Shanty 2 Chic where you can see a video tutorial with step-by-step instructions. You will love this blog so be sure to check out more of their fabulous projects. You will be so inspired to make many more Do It Yourself projects!
What a perfect time to make and share these Thin Mint Truffles. Not only do they honor Girl Scout cookie season, but the are also a great treat for St. Patrick’s Day as well. If you have bought some Thin Mints from the Girl Scouts this year, and still have a box or two, you really need to give this recipe a try.
These little balls of goodness are amazing (especially if you love the mint and chocolate combo). Best part about them, no baking required and only four ingredients needed! I recommend making a double batch because from my experience, they disappear rather fast. Store them in the freezer, as you would with your Girl Scout cookies. This will savor the truffles a little bit slower… that is, if you don’t eat them all in one sitting. 🙂 I know you are wanting to write down this recipe so click here and I will escort you over to Cookin’ Cowgirl. Let’s just say… these will be a big hit with your family and friends!
Thank you for your time today! Life get so busy, so I appreciate you stopping by. I hope you will enjoy your weekend and please do something that makes you happy. Weekends go by way too fast, so make the most of yours! Be sure to hug those you love and spend some good quality time with them.

I hope that you are enjoying a beautiful holiday season surrounded by those you love. I adore the holidays and am so excited to share some fun holiday projects with you. We all have traditions and gifts we love to give to family and friends, and one of the biggest gifts I try to give to my children are memories. The most precious gift they give back to me are the smiles when reminiscing about those memories. Whether memories are preserved through a card, a scrapbook page, or some type of craft, they will be treasured forever. As we are heading into the final stretch of preparing for Christmas, there is still time to do some Christmas crafting!
Do you still have a few cards to dress up for the holidays? No problem, Anya will come to your rescue by sharing her beautiful card with faux wood logs. Anya is a fabulous designer for Echo Park and she shares the steps, along with all the product you will need, to recreate this festive Christmas card.
Who wouldn’t love to receive this beautiful card in the mail, after all isn’t receiving a card just like receiving a hug through the mail? Click here and I will take you over to Echo Park’s blog where you can see how Anya added a few of her handmade touches, taking the card from pretty to “WOW” in no time. Don’t worry, you still have plenty of time to get these made and out in the mail. Whew, one more thing to check off your list!
Who says Christmas needs to be red and green? I fell in love with this magical Christmas card. It really inspired me to break out some of my die cuts and stamps. What makes this card stand out is the white heat embossed sentiment stamped on vellum, and the added blue ink blended to give a soft hue. Such an elegant look! Don’t you love it when a beautiful card comes together so quickly?
This festive card, with it’s beautiful details, was made with so much love. A big thank you to Joy for being such an inspiration to all of us crafters! To see more of her beautiful work, let’s go over to her blog Simple By Design. You will be so inspired by her and happy you took the time to visit!
If you are anything like me, you probably have oodles of journaling cards in your scrapbook stash. This is such a fabulous way of using some them. This fun festive wood tray will make a perfect display of Christmas cheer for your home. It is definitely a one-of-a-kind piece of home decor. This Classic Christmas Wood Tray just might be your favorite Christmas decoration ever!
If you look closely you can see how the added rhinestones will catch the light. Layering embellishments is one of the most important things as you create a tray of your own. As you gather your embellishments, this will add your own personality to the project. Don’t stop with your craft supplies, also think about jewelry, sewing, florals, and even miniatures in your local craft stores. The possibilities are endless! This project was so much fun yet could be kept simple enough that you could even have your children or grandchildren make one right along with you! The holidays are not quite as much fun without creating a little holiday magic with a handmade treasure. Click here and I will escort you over to Simple Stories where you will learn from Karen how to create your very own tray. Thank you Karen (again) for sharing your wonderful talent and inspiration!
These adorable little guys are easy to make with nothing to bake! What a perfect treat for your holiday parties. These cheerful snowman Oreo balls will brighten any cold winter day.

You will receive tips from Christy how she put these darling little snowmen together. Once again, you will be a hit at your Christmas parties. Enjoy!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend and you get some time for some creative fun! Thank you for visiting, have a great week, and most of all remember to take time to enjoy this special time of year!
Welcome back, my crafty friends. I have some great projects to share with you on this beautiful fall day, so sit back, relax, and let’s have some fun by letting the creative therapy begin!
Mixed media is a lot of different things. It can be art pages, tags, alterations, canvases, and many more types of projects. So today I wanted to share this wonderful fall mixed media layout. To create the background of this layout, Shizuka uses torn paper and adheres it to the background paper. She then covered the paper with gesso and added some texture using a stickable stencil. To give it a finish and shine she added some gold glimmer mist. Shizuka used several sheets of paper to give the layout thickness and a chipboard look and feel.
The photos are the stars of this layout. I love the way the embellishments complement and coordinate perfectly with these adorable photos. This is such a stunning layout with the colors, the texture, and all of the layers. A big thank you to Shizuka for her wonderful inspiration. I know you would love to have all of the techniques that Shizuka used, so let me escort you over to BoBunny’s blog where you can see the steps to make this masterpiece layout. You will truly be inspired!
Would you like to learn a wonderful watercoloring technique that will make your flowers look dimensional? This card is absolutely stunning with the vibrant colors and the composition. Kelly uses two different stamps, Sketch Ranunculus and Spring Flowers along with Tim Holtz Distress Inks, and created a lovely watercolor background. And better yet, she shares a video giving several new tips and tricks.
I know you are dying to see the video, so click here and I will be happy to take you over so you can follow along with Kelly’s step-by-step instructions. You are going to love it – enjoy!
Today I want to celebrate fall. It is here with the warm colors, the shades of gold, and the magic it gives to this time of year. Autumn is always a favorite season! Kerri shares this adorable card with us and it certainly gives fall a precious welcome!
Where does time go? With it being fall we will be celebrating Thanksgiving before we know it, so let’s start creating those cards to let your loved ones know just how thankful you are for them!
