Happy Birthday

Welcome back to Weekly Scrapper.  I am so excited to share some outstanding projects from a few wonderful and very crafty ladies.  Go grab your favorite drink, sit back, relax, and let’s get started into our creative world of crafting!

Love You Everyday By Jill Keller

If you are one that loves mixed media, then you’ll love the inspiration you will receive today from this beautiful layout.  I totally fell in love with the mixed media influenced background, the subtle textures, and the gorgeous colors that Jill used in her layout.  What a great way to complement her precious photo. For the background, Jill has added lots of watercolor, paste, and stitching mixed in with pretty elements of the collection.  She really draws your eyes into her image.

Love You Everyday

What a beautiful way to preserve a special photo!  Jill also gives a perfect example of how to include the mixed media style without overpowering her precious photo.  I just love all the beautiful layering that Jill also achieved.  She really has the skills and techniques to give her layout a pop.  Her layout is a piece of art that is all about texture, techniqu,e and a great imagination.  A big shout out to Jill for an outstanding job on this layout!  I am sure you are curious about what products she used, so click here and I will take you on over to Pretty Little Studio where you can write them all down.  While you are there be sure to check out her other fabulous projects.  You are going to be so inspired!

Hands Of Time

I hope today you are taking some time to relax and enjoy your weekend.  Since it is cold outside, go grab yourself a cup of coffee, tea, or even a good old mug of hot chocolate.  I want you to sit back, relax, and enjoy the inspiration I have to share with you on this beautiful Saturday!

Dream Passionately By Cathy Cafun

How do you come up with your ideas to start layouts?  For me, inspiration usually comes from sifting through photos, which I love to do.  When I stumble across the ones I want to use, I usually come up with some quick ideas for starting a layout.  One of my favorite go-to ideas is using chipboard; its a great way to add some dimension to your layout.  This ultra-sweet layout was created by Cathy Cafun using some Dusty Attic chipboard. Using frames is a great way to draw the eye to your photos.  Other favorite techniques of mine when using chipboard include painting along with adding glitter, stickles, texturizing elements, and so much more.

Dream Passionately

What a wonderful design Cathy created, and her details are perfect.  Don’t you just love how she tied all the chipboard pieces together using flowers?  Cathy’s combination of pastels are glorious and makes us hopeful that spring is not that far away.  Click here and I will be happy to escort you over to the blog “Cathy Can’t Help Herself” where you will be thrilled with all the inspiration! While you are visiting Cathy’s blog be sure to check out all of the other beautiful layouts she has to share.

Hands Of Time By Brenda Brown

This beautiful masterpiece can be used for a home decor piece or a beautiful card to brighten up someone’s day.  I love the texture that was created using gesso, modeling paste, and your favorite stencil.  You can always create a spectacular background by spritzing with ink sprays, mists, or color wash.  You know me, I am a big fan of creative and different backgrounds.

Hands Of Time

Brenda created this on a 5 X 7 canvas board.  There is nothing more exquisite than a handmade decor piece for your home.  This distinctive canvas is definitely the proof of what one can do when you open up your imagination.  I would like to send out a big thank you to Brenda Brown for sharing this beautiful and unique masterpiece with us.  Let me take you over to Bumblebees And Butterflies where you can find a list of supplies along with the steps of how Brenda created her canvas.  Be sure to stop by her blog anytime you need a burst of inspiration.

Headboard To Chalkboard By Christy James

Chalkboards are a versatile tool that come in so handy at home.  They can come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and styles to fit the needs of multiple users.  Today I have to share with you one of the most unique and fun chalkboards I have ever seen.  I totally fell in love with this and so will you.

Headboard to Chalkboard

Christy found this fun old headboard at a thrift store for only $10.00.  It is amazing how you can find great treasures at the thrift store; and so inexpensive as well.  Who would have ever thought of a headboard turning into a useful chalkboard?  I also love the added hanging hooks to add a little more function.  This is one project I can’t wait to get started on.  I have the perfect spot in my home for it.  I know you are dying to make this as well, so come with me over to Confessions Of A Serial Do-It-Yourselfer where you will get step-by-step instructions by Christy.  You will want to jot down some notes and what supplies you will need.  With a little help from Christy, you will be able to create this adorable chalk board in no time. This will be one fun project to create!

Chocolate Toffee Buttercrunch By Christy Denney

The sweet crunch of this delicious Buttercrunch Toffee pairs chocolate and pecans for a winning combination.  This recipe requires very few ingredients and little effort, but the result is superb, making it appear as if you had slaved over a hot stove all afternoon.

Chocolate Toffee Buttercrunch

I don’t know about you, but just looking at this photo makes my mouth water.  It looks so yummy!  I can’t wait to give this one a try.  What a fun treat to have when family or friends pop over.  Let’s go on over to The Girl Who Ate Everything so you can print out your recipe from Christy Denney.  I bet this will become one of your family’s favorites!

Classic Christmas Wood Tray

I hope that you are enjoying a beautiful holiday season surrounded by those you love. I adore the holidays and am so excited to share some fun holiday projects with you.  We all have traditions and gifts we love to give to family and friends, and one of the biggest gifts I try to give to my children are memories.  The most precious gift they give back to me are the smiles when reminiscing about those memories.  Whether memories are preserved through a card, a scrapbook page, or some type of craft, they will be treasured forever.  As we are heading into the final stretch of preparing for Christmas, there is still time to do some Christmas crafting!

Greetings By Anya Lunchenko

Do you still have a few cards to dress up for the holidays?  No problem, Anya will come to your rescue by sharing her beautiful card with faux wood logs.  Anya is a fabulous designer for Echo Park and she shares the steps, along with all the product you will need, to recreate this festive Christmas card.

Greetings

Who wouldn’t love to receive this beautiful card in the mail, after all isn’t receiving a card just like receiving a hug through the mail?  Click here and I will take you over to Echo Park’s blog where you can see how Anya added a few of her handmade touches, taking the card from pretty to “WOW” in no time.  Don’t worry, you still have plenty of time to get these made and out in the mail. Believe By Joy Taylor

Who says Christmas needs to be red and green?  I fell in love with this magical Christmas card.  It really inspired me to break out some of my die cuts and stamps. What makes this card stand out is the white heat embossed sentiment stamped on vellum, and the added blue ink blended to give a soft hue.  Such an elegant look!  Don’t you love it when a beautiful card comes together so quickly?

Believe

This festive card, with it’s beautiful details, was made with so much love.  A big thank you to Joy for being such an inspiration to all of us crafters!  To see more of her beautiful work, let’s go over to her blog Simple By Design.  You will be so inspired by her and happy you took the time to visit!

Classic Christmas Wood Tray By Karen Peterson

If you are anything like me, you probably have oodles of journaling cards in your scrapbook stash.  This is such a fabulous way of using some them. This fun festive wood tray will make a perfect display of Christmas cheer for your home.  It is definitely a one-of-a-kind piece of home decor.  This Classic Christmas Wood Tray just might be your favorite Christmas decoration ever!

If you look closely you can see how the added rhinestones will catch the light. Layering embellishments is one of the most important things as you create a tray of your own.  As you gather your embellishments, this will add your own personality to the project.  Don’t stop with your craft supplies, also think about jewelry, sewing, florals, and even miniatures in your local craft stores.  The possibilities are endless!   This project was so much fun yet could be kept simple enough that you could even have your children or grandchildren make one right along with you!  The holidays are not quite as much fun without creating a little holiday magic with a handmade treasure.  Click here and I will escort you over to Simple Stories where you will learn from Karen how to create your very own tray.  Thank you Karen (again) for sharing your wonderful talent and inspiration!
