Latest & Greatest Card Making with Crate Paper

Hey there Stamp & Scrapbook Expo friends and fans, Becki here, to share some Christmas card ideas with you. Our show season is quickly coming to an end which means the holiday season is right around the corner. We wanted to make sure that our Latest & Greatest card making attendees had some fun Christmas products in their hands to create their 2017 holiday cards with. If you’re able to attend the Latest & Greatest card making workshop in Denver, Akron, Sacramento, or Ontario, you’ll be going home with a few products from the new Falala collection from Crate Paper. With only a few products I was able to create these two cards in a few minutes. I used a similar design for each card to make the creative process much quicker. Each card has two patterned papers and a few stickers.

My favorite part about creating this card is the sticker sentiments. Stickers make adding sentiments to cards so easy!

It’s been a while since I created my last card making video. I thought you all might enjoy watching how these two cards came together. I’m sure a lot of you are better at planning ahead and have already started creating your Christmas cards.

I’d love to know if you’ve started creating your 2017 Christmas cards and how many are you making. Let me know in the comment section below. AND if you’re in the Sacramento area or the Ontario area. We’d love to have you in our Latest & Greatest workshops. You can find all the details HERE. Thank you for stopping by today. I’ll see you again next week for another edition of Inspiration Station. Have a great week!

Creative Scrapbooking with Sketches and a Video Tutorial

Hello Stamp & Scrapbook Expo friends and fans, Becki here, to share a fun layout and process video with you. Fall is finally here and I couldn’t be more excited! I have so many fun things to share with you and I get to meet a few of you in Denver, Sacramento, and Ontario. I will be teaching workshops at all three of these Stamp & Scrapbook Expo’s. I can’t wait! I’ll be teaching two classes at each show. You can find all the details on those classes HERE. Today, I’m actually in Denver! My workshops start tomorrow! One of the workshops I will be teaching is Creative Scrapbooking with Sketches. In this workshop we’ll learn all about scrapbooking with sketches. Today, I created a layout using one of my favorite sketches. You can find that sketch HERE. I used the Jillibean Soup Farmhouse Stew collection to create this layout. I fell in love with this collection when I saw it at the SPC tradeshow in July. It’s the perfect collection for documenting all your Fall memories. Here’s the process video for this layout:

As I mentioned in the video, this layout is about our trip to the state fair. The colors and patterns in this collection were perfect for this layout. Using a sketch to create this layout made creating this layout a breeze. The layout came together in a matter of minutes because I used a sketch. I love creating with a sketch because it makes the process so easy and enjoyable for me!If you’re going to be at the Denver, Sacramento, or Ontario Stamp & Scrapbook Expo’s I’d love to meet you and have you join me in one of my workshops. All the details can be found HERE. Remember if you purchase a workshop ticket your admission to the show floor is included. I’ll see you at the Expo!

Wander By Amanda Baldwin

Fall is here with cool temperatures slowly creeping in the air, and Amanda shows a great way to capture that fall feeling using beautifully soft and delicate colors.  I just love the color combo along with the way that Amanda uses her printed binder chip, cut files, stickers, and beautiful, intricate doilies. This is definitely a layout that makes your heart feel warm and fuzzy.

I hope that Amanda’s work of art inspires you to step outside of your comfort zone and create something beautiful.  Are you ready to begin?  Let me escort you on over to her Happy Arty Days blog where Amanda will give you all the supplies you need to get started.  You will love the inspiration that Amanda shares, and you won’t want to miss out on any of her fabulous projects.  I highly recommend taking a minute (or more!) to visit her blog.

You Make Me Smile By Kathy Racoosin

I love to explore new trends in the crafting industry.  A new technique that I discovered, created here by Kathy Racoosin, is alternating a stamp and adding watercoloring.  The sunflower was stamped again, cut, and popped for more dimension.  Sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers, so this really brought a smile to my face especially on this dreary and rainy day.  I love the way that Kathy colored them, so I say pop this card in a frame and call it a day!  Who wouldn’t love to receive this priceless and treasured creation?

You Make Me Smile

Kathy has prepared a wonderful video showing just how she created this beautiful card, along with tips and techniques on how she does some masking and stamping to create a taller sunflower for some impact on her card.  Click here and I will escort you over to The Daily Marker so you can watch her short video.  You will find all the supplies you’ll need to begin to create your own card. You will also walk away being so inspired by Kathy.  Don’t forget to check out her other amazing projects.

Village Bungalow By Sarah Vouga

With Halloween just around the corner, it is time to get out those spooky decorations.  Why spend money buying decorations when you can create some wonderful ones yourself? (And that’s so much more fun, right?)  These frightful little villages will add a spooky flare to your Halloween decor.  This is certainly a project that your children and grandchildren will love and even help with. You will be the talk of the neighborhood with these over-the-top decorations in your home.

These creative decorations are definitely ones that will get a second look.  What a great way to enjoy the Halloween season!  You are probably dying to know how to make these and where to get the supplies.  Click here for a video tutorial by Tim Holtz and he will give you many creative tips and techniques on how to create these.  Be sure to visit the Sizzix blog for more wonderful projects.  I promise you will be more than inspired!

Crepe Cake By Natasha K

Crepe cake recipes are exactly what they sound like, cakes made out of crepes.  And if you are a fan of crepes, then crepe cakes exist just to make you happy!  When you need to make a big impression, this scrumptious crepe cake is an easy-to-assemble dessert that is as taste-bud-pleasing as it is visually appealing.

Crepe Cake

This is the easiest 30 layer cake you’ll ever make with 15 crepes and 15 layers of cream.  Everyone will think it took you hours to prepare but it’s really very simple.  Let me take you over to Natasha’s Kitchen where you will get all the ingredients and directions to start making one for your family and friends.  This will definitely be one you will make again!
I hope your week is ending on a creative high note!  In my neck of the woods it is quite chilly so with that said, it is always fun to take some time out of the weekend and grab a hot drink, snuggle up, and take some time to be creative.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I will see you again next Saturday!
Sending warm hugs,

Peanut Butter Frozen Yogurt Pops By Kelly Senyei

If you are a fan of the peanut butter and chocolate flavor combo (that covers just about everyone I know), you will love these.  This is not only a summer treat but you can enjoy these all year long. Peanut Butter Frozen Yogurt Pops are creamy and delicious, and they are packed with healthy goodness, too.  That makes them twice as fun!

Peanut Butter Frozen Yogurt Pops

Tangy yogurt, peanut butter, and three additional ingredients are whisked together into a light and creamy mix that is poured into popsicle molds and frozen until solid.  Waiting for the popsicles to freeze is the hardest part of this recipe! Microwave Flower Press BY June Olsen

Are you one who loves to preserve and press flowers?  It can be so discouraging waiting for the flowers to dry before you can create with them.  Pressing flowers is a wonderful way to preserve their beauty, and the process couldn’t be more simple.  Today I will share a fun technique that will only take minutes.  Who would have ever thought to use a microwave?  Microwave flower pressing really preserves the colors and hues of the flowers and foliage much better than traditional flower pressing.  Microwave pressing flowers offers a wonderful way to savor the beauty of summer long after it’s blooms have faded from the garden.

Microwave Flower Pressing

Adding your flowers to a beautiful frame is a great way to display the flowers and enjoy them each day of the year.  These will make wonderful gifts!  I am thinking about making a few extra for the holidays.  I know many of my friends and family would love this.  I always have extra frames on hand, so this would make a beautiful gift and almost a free project.
