Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started crafting: A few years ago I started scrapbooking because of my wedding. I wanted to make my own envelopes, because I couldn’t found anything that I liked on the market. A friend told me about this nice tool which helps you to make envelopes by yourself. It was the Envelope Punch Board. Since then a passion about crafting with paper started and I began to create scrapbooking layouts, handmade cards and pretty gift wrappings. I’ve been in several design teams, taught scrapbooking workshops, and now I am working as an Online Marketing Manager for alexandraRenke.com in Germany, an online shop and manufacturer for stamps, dies, and paper. With a good friend I’m publishing a German magazine about scrapbooking, card making, mixed media, and do it yourself projects too. As Walt Disney said: “If you can dream it, you can do it.”

Favorite thing to create: This is a really hard question because I enjoy making a lot of things. You can see here a lot of scrapbooking layouts and some cards, but I also love wrapping gifts in a really crafty way too. I’m a crafter from head to toe. But when I make cards I know most of the time that this project I create will be send out to a friend or family member. And I love to think about how I can light up the daily life of someone I love with a simple handmade card. So ok, maybe I love making cards the most, because I can give them away as a gift and reminder that I think about my friends.

What do you love about this hobby? My favorite thing about this hobby is that I found a lot of real and good friends at crops and events for scrapbookers. I never thought that this could really happen. But the Internet is an inspiring and encouraging place, full of lovely people I wouldn’t know without this hobby.

5 fun facts about yourself:
1. love reading books, but haven´t read since a few months.
2. I’m a plant lover.
3. I still wish to get a pony as a birthday present some day. And I don’t care that I am over thirty now. 🙂
4. I love eating cake, but can’t bake. Really sad sometimes…
5. I’m an introvert.

YOU & ME by Julia Klein

I usually use a lot of enamel dot or sequins on my projects. I think these details are what I love most of scrapbooking. You can be really minimalistic or work hours on teeny tiny details.

I AM BECAUSE YOU WERE by Julia Klein

When I found the quote “I am because you were” on the internet, I had this layout in my mind. My mum died two years ago and this quote now means a lot to me.

FLAUSEN IM KOPF by Julia Klein

This layout is a rare one from me. I challenged myself to use patterned paper for the background instead of white cardstock. I was running out of white cardstock at that moment so I had no other chance. But I love the results!

BEAUTIFUL THINGS TO COME CARD by Julia Klein

For this card I used a piece of vellum and white heat embossing powder to create the background. A nice contrast with the pink elements.

HI! CARD by Julia Klein

My new favorite motif for this year is the lama. Can’t get enough of it.

I love the variety of projects Julia shared with us today! Be sure to click on over to her social media sites listed at the top to learn more about her and see more of her amazing work!

Very nice! It is fun to read about designers and I like that Julia created several different things with different styles on each.

I love the idea of using white cardstock as the base. I spend so much time looking for just the right color cardstock for the patterned paper I have chosen. I can’t wait to try this idea.

This is too cool. I just stumbled across this site (guess I’ve been under a rock) and love it. And then the third post I look into happens to be from a gal from Germany! I live in Germany too (though I’m from the US). And, and this part is sad, it will soon be one year ago that my mom passed away 🙁
Nice to see you here Julia!
