Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started crafting: I live in a suburb of Dallas with my husband, two kids, and our two dogs. I work full-time and in my spare time besides scrapping, I love photography, traveling to new places, and working on fun DIY crafty projects around the house. I started scrapbooking shortly after we were married when I put together a honeymoon album, but didn’t become fully addicted until I had kids. I’m fortunate to be on several design teams and love to share my work with others.

Favorite thing to create: My favorite subjects are my kids and husband but I love scrapping my travel adventures, too.

What do you love about scrapbooking/cardmaking? I love the creative process of scrapbooking. Not only am I inspired by photos and stories, but I can be equally inspired by scrapbooking products.

5 fun facts about yourself:
1. I’ve recently started reading again and have set a goal to read 25 books this year.
2. I love traveling (and do it for my job) but I equally love being at home. I often say I’m conflicted because of this.
3. I like to use lots of color on my layouts (keep scrolling and you’ll see)!
4. I’m a night owl and rarely go to bed before midnight.
5. Brussel sprouts cooked with bacon are one of my favorite foods. Everything is better with bacon!

Here is the layout Diane created for this feature:

I love creating with basic shapes like hearts, stars, and circles. On this layout I decided to use multi-patterned circles in a grid for a fun design. I even punched some circles out of alpha sticker sheets for a fun twist.

FAMILY FOR LIKE EVER by Diane Payne

I love scrapping vintage family photos and true to my style I always make them bright and colorful. This one came together quickly with a grid design.

My alpha sticker supply is abundant so I like to use them to create long, mixed titles. I really think a mixed title with multiple font colors, styles, and sizes creates a fun and interesting layout.

I used my Silhouette to cut the large circle for my photo on this layout, but my circle punches brought the rest of it together quickly. I like the fun, playful feeling of the randomly placed circles in various patterns.

Scrapping candid family photos is one of my favorite things to scrap. After we all dog-piled on the couch, I had my daughter snap a selfie. She has long arms that are just perfect for selfie taking! I like enlarging favorite photos like this and used a cut file to fill the space above.

Thanks for sharing your talent with us, Diane!
