Kelly Klapstein, the author of The Art of Brush Lettering, has developed an educational line of lettering products with American Crafts and teaches calligraphy workshops all over the world. Prior to becoming a hand lettering artist, Kelly was teaching scrapbooking and card making classes, sharing her love of paper crafts. She has been writing and designing for Creative Scrapbooker Magazine for the past 7 years, and you can read Kelly’s feature article “Love Letters” in every issue. When she isn’t traveling, Kelly is happy to be home in northern Canada, hanging out with her family and dog Finn, drinking Earl Grey tea, and playing with watercolor paints.

Breathe. Write. Relax. In this workshop, you will be guided through a series of lettering exercises with brush pens and learn the art of calligraphy. Using Kelly’s tracing guide worksheets, you will learn the techniques of brush-script lettering that can be used on cards, scrapbook pages, art journals and more!
What products will be highlighted: You will learn how to use a brush pen for hand lettering.
What will I learn or complete: This is a skill-based class. You will learn the basics of calligraphy using brush pens and leave the class with completed worksheets and a brush pen.
What do I need to bring to class: Nothing.
What special supplies are needed to finish this project at home: Nothing
What techniques will I learn or use: You will learn 10 basic strokes of calligraphy and the lowercase alphabet, a through z, using brush pens.
Will I complete this project in class: Yes it is very likely you will finish the projects in class.

Join us for an evening dedicated to Swapping! You work hard creating the cutest swap for exchanging with other planners and we have the perfect place to do it! Kelly will join us at the Sip & Swap on Friday. As her swap, Kelly will write your name in her own brush lettering style on a tag.
