A lovely hand-addressed card or envelope is a lost art! Add a personal touch to holiday cards, wedding invitations, or any correspondence with traditional calligraphy. This technique-based class will introduce you to Old English-style calligraphy. This is not italic, but rather the more traditional style (think newspaper mastheads). The lowercase alphabet will be practiced, with like letters shown together so you can begin to master the basic skills needed to form letters. You will receive a double-ended, felt-tip marker to keep (great for left or right-handers) and practice papers with guides. This class is fast-paced but fun!

"What adhesive should I use?" We will answer that common question in this relaxing and informative lecture-style class. We will talk about various tape runners, liquids, and other adhesive options including how to remove or "suspend" adhesive if you need to redo your project! You don't need special paints to create a watercolor effect on cards or artwork. See how easy it is to create a soft watercolor look with water-based markers. This technique class is built on the art principle that things that are far away appear lighter (smaller and less distinct). We will be teaching you to use this principle to create depth in your scenes using only color! You will stamp, mask, and insert color with blending ovals to end up with a large 5 x 7" scene that can be mounted as a card or framed as artwork! You will be working on coated cardstock, so having the correct type of ink (dye) is critical.

You will be receiving the New Creative Memories Industry Best Photo Trimmer. This trimmer crops all photos up to 8 x 10". It has a tension-loaded spring guillotine so your photo is cut perfectly every time, an extendable horizontal ruler arm (measuring up to 10 1/2"), clear black guidelines, and a snap/tuck compartment underneath for two types of scissors. You will also easily create a two-page spread with coordinating stickers and embellishments in minutes! You will choose from a variety of page kits and will be able to add photos later.
