Holiday Party Two-Page Layout

Becki-Adams-headerHey there friends, Becki here. The last time I shared a two-page layout, it got rave reviews and I received several requests to share more two-page layouts. So, here I am to share another one with you. This layout documents my thoughts and memories of attending a fancy holiday party with my husband. I created this layout with the Moonstruck collection from Pink Paislee. I chose this collection because I fell in love with the bold floral patterns with a bold navy blue background.

I used a neutral patterned paper background so that I could add lots of bold color with embellishments and complimentary patterned papers. I know some of you don’t enjoy fussy cutting, but it is one of my favorite techniques and my favorite way to stretch my supplies. By fussy cutting images from patterned papers, you have instant embellishments that are very inexpensive and are guaranteed to match. I fussy cut a few flowers to use as embellishments on this layout.

Aren’t these gold doilies gorgeous? They made the perfect base for my embellishment clusters. They compliment this collection SO well.

I used Thickers from the Moonstruck collection to create my title. Remember to use extra adhesive on your letter stickers so you don’t find them at the bottom of the page protector in your albums in a few months. 😉

When I create a two-page spread I tape the two background papers together, create my layout, and then cut them apart when I’m finished. This time that meant that my main photo was cut apart. When I was creating the layout I just made sure that the most important part of the photo wasn’t going to be cut. You’ll notice that on the right side of the layout (found below) has a small strip of the black and white photo along the left.

The finishing touch on this layout was a few sprinkles of gold and navy spray ink over the embellishment clusters. I had high hopes for this project when I got started and I was not disappointed. I LOVE how this turned out!
