Hey friends, Becki here. Do you have a specific theme, holiday, activity, or topic that you love to scrapbook? I do – it’s everyday moments. I LOVE taking those little moments that happen everyday, creating beautiful layouts for my family’s albums. The moment I documented on the layout I have to share with you today is about my son and his stuffed puppy “Duke”. When we went on a road trip to see my brother and his family this fall we accidentally left Duke at my brother’s house. My nieces found Duke a few hours after we left and quickly packaged him and sent him to my son. My son spent a VERY long week waiting for Duke to land on our doorstep. When Duke finally arrived, I snapped a quick photo and sent it to my brother’s family thanking them for sending Duke to us. This is not a huge event, a holiday, or a birthday. But, it is a memory that would probably be forgotten if I hadn’t taken the photo and written the story. This is why I scrapbook. I want to preserve these little moments and memories that happen daily in our little family.
I used a basic design with one photo to create this layout. I reached for the Crate Paper Cool Kid collection. This is my favorite boy themed collection (as evidenced by THIS project, and also THIS project).
I combined a three letter sticker fonts to create the title to the left of the photo. Three embellishment clusters surround the photo to make the photo the focal point on the layout.
The embellishments I chose support the story told on the layout. The puppy sticker, the map sticker, and the puppy die cut all help tell the story of Duke being left behind.
I printed the journaling and cut it into small strips that fit into the striped patterned paper.
What are your favorite types of memories to document – a specific theme, holiday, activity, or topic? I’d love to hear about it, so please let me know below in the comments!
Happy creating my friends, I’ll see you again next Thursday.
I will scrapbook anything and everything! I usually make an album of any vacation we may take. Then I have a special album set aside for the Christmas holidays. There is also an album that covers all our activities for the remainder of the year, minus Christmas and vacation. I have also done albums for my daughter’s wedding, my grandson’s first year; and this year I am looking forward to scrapbooking our ballpark adventures featuring the World Champion Chicago Cubs!
Barb!!! I am SO happy to hear from you. I completely love that you scrapbook anything and everything. I’m pretty sure we could be best friends!!! I love that you have organized albums and know where each layout will go when you create it. I have one album for each of my kids and then an family album. I create mini albums here and there for special occasions. Thank you for stopping by the Weekly Scrapper blog!!
