Valentine Tags and Treat Bags

Roree-header-1500

Hi everyone! Roree here, and I just want to start off this all-new “Make It! Monday” series of posts on the Weekly Scrapper blog by letting you know how excited I am to be here! I absolutely love to create and I love to share my creations, so it really is a match made in heaven for me. Every Monday, I will be stopping by to share a new project with you. There will be cards, layouts, party ideas, and more!

So on to this week’s project…

With Christmastime over, our next major holiday is Valentine’s Day. The stores are already overflowing with pink, red, and hearts everywhere. I don’t really mind though, because I love Valentine’s Day. What’s not to love about a holiday dedicated to love, jewelry, and candy?! One of my favorite candies for Valentine’s Day are conversation hearts.

They are so sugary sweet and you get a message with each and every bite. Yum!

For my first project on the blog, I was inspired by these adorably cute candies to create my own conversation heart tags:

They are so quick and easy, and I love that you don’t have to be a master stamper to create them. They are perfectly imperfect!

Here is what you will need to create them — an alphabet stamp set, a pink/red ink pad, some colorful paper, and a die cut machine or heart-shaped punch.

For my hearts, I used my Cricut Explore® machine and a heart from the Heart Flower shape on the Paisley cartridge to cut out multiple colorful hearts at 2 1/4″ using K&Company’s Color Basics Radiant paper pad.

Next was adding the messages to the cuts with Graphic 45’s Antique Typewriter Wood Stamp Set and Memento’s Rose Bud ink pad.

Voila! It really was that simple!

You can add them to gift bags, candy tubes, boxes, and so much more. The possibilities really are endless!

Here are a few things about me, so you can get to know me a little bit better:

I live in Daphne, Alabama with my husband David, our two daughters Grace and Harper, our dogs Hank and Phoenix, and our cat Ninja. I started paper crafting in 2005 when I decided to make my daughter’s 5th birthday invitations instead of buying them, and my love for this hobby took off like a rocket from there. Most people know me as a card maker, but every once and a while I do a little altering or put together a page or two. I consider my style clean and cutesy, and I love adding lots of little details and some form of hand or machine stitching on most of my projects. (I actually learned to sew because of paper crafting!) You can see more of my work on my personal blog: http://roreerumph.blogspot.com/.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I look forward to seeing you next week!
