I found this amazing journal on Pintrest. I am a big fan of distressing so this really caught my eye. Whether you are new to distressing or not this would be a great project.

I just love how the hardware is used not only to embellish the project but how it also has function as well. Notice the large gear/knob, I would use that as a closure by attaching some antique ribbon to the back of the journal and simply wrapping it around the gear to keep it closed. The clips could be used to hold photos or memorabilia. Don’t be afraid to use what you have on hand to embellish, remember this is your journal so use things that are meaningful to you, that’s what gives our projects that personal warm fuzzy touch.. So break out your stamps and inks and just have fun with it.
