Be You Layout Tutorial

Do you ever get stumped on designing a scrapbook page?  Sometimes I feel like I create the same style page over and over.  I came upon this great Scallop Die-cut Design  from Robyn Werlich. Robyn designed this for Basic Grey.   This is such a fun and different type layout and I want to share with you how to make this.

Die cut scallop designs from a Silhouette machine or other die cutting machine using Lucille Mini Skirt red paper.  I used my Cricut for this one.

Group the insides of the scallop shapes  to 4 scallops in every 4″ square block. Cut 4″ squares from different papers and place them on your cutting mat. Cut the design and you will have a bunch of different scallops to fill the design with.

Glue the die-cut red scallop paper to the bottom half of a white piece of paper. Start adhering the middles of the scallops to the page in a random order. Leave some empty.

Die cut a title in different style of papers.  Off set them so there is a shadow of the other papers beneath the top one.  This will add some great depth to your title.  Adhere on white card-stock   Using a coordinating color cut a bit larger piece of card-stock  glue entire title to the coordinating card-stock   This will be your title base.   Add your pictures to top of the page.  You can sew around the edge if desired.  Cut a 1/2 inch of card-stock, or ribbon, and divide the pictures from the scallop designs.  Add some twine.

Using butterfly punches or whatever shape you have on hand (hearts, stars, etc.), cut out some butterflies from different pieces of patterned paper. I also used a butterfly sticker from the Lucille sticker sheet. Layer them, add brads to middle and scatter on the top left corner of page.  Adhere your title to the center of page over your  paper strip or ribbon.  Now you have a darling different layout and was so fun to create.
