I came across this adorable layout while on Shien’s Paper Arts Blog and knew I just had to share. What really caught my eye were all the fine details achieved at such a minimal cost. We all have done those $20+ layouts but how refreshing to create such a beautiful layout with basically paper, well-loved scrapbook tools, and a few stamp sets/techniques.
I love how Shien started building her layout with some light masking using Glimmer Mist and a template from The Crafter’s Workshop. This really adds dimension to the background.
The paper used on this layout is Dewey Decimal 12×12 kits and 6×6 paper pads from Lawn Fawn.
How cute are the quaint little embellishments that where stamped using Lawn Fawn stamps: Pa Rum Pa Pum Pum, Bon Voyage, Bannerific, Claire’s ABCs, and A Birdie Told Me and than colored with markers & inks.
I have to admit. I’m fairly new to stamping and what I used to consider to be “card making techniques.” I have been a scrapbooker for about 15 years now and I just started stamping within the last year. I really don’t know what took me so long.
I hope this layout has inspired you to break out those stamp sets and start playing.
You will be truly amazed at what you can come up with.
Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

That little boy has such a cute smile!
I agree Barbara, he is adorable. Isn’t is nice when the photo still takes center stage on a layout.
