Today I have an inspirational piece that is absolutely amazing. If you love mixed media, this layout will be one you will definitely fall in love with. This piece of art is breathtaking with all of its textures and details. I can just picture this on an easel being displayed. Doesn’t this masterpiece just make you want to visit Greece? The fabulous designer of this layout is Ingrid Gooyer. I highly recommend you to visit her blog Ingrid’s Place for more sensational projects.
Ingrid did a lot of painting and texturing for her background. What a fun way to use your mediums. The background was painted with acrylic paints and gesso. Some of the areas were overheated to get more texture.
Ingrid used fish net, and lighthouse chipboard from Dusty Attic. She added a light coat of gesso to these.
The fun anchor was distressed and a bit of gesso also applied.
Rustic buttons and flowers along with some metal embellishments were added.
The light brown flowers Ingrid hand made using small ribbon.
Here you can see the texture she created with light blue paint over the top.
Adding some rope tied into knots really gives it the ocean feel.
What a outstanding layout that Ingrid created. I would like to say Thank You to Ingrid for sharing such a wonderful inspiration for us to enjoy.
Thank you for your visit. I hope this gets you inspired to create a mixed media layout!
