Even though there are a lot of details & dimension to this gorgeous layout, the photo is still the first thing that your eye is drawn to. After all, isn’t that why we scrapbook; to preserve & record those special moments in our life?
I love how Sandrine took what could have been a totally feminine layout & added a masculine twist by carrying the gears throughout the page . Below is a close up of the flower cluster with the gears peeking out. All the flowers were covered with some Gesso, 3.5 cm Lace Pearl, 8 cm Damask Flower, 6.5 cm Heirloom Silk and Organza Flowers, and 1.5 cm Roses all in ivory. Don’t you just love the soft monochromatic color scheme?
Here Sandrine used some sheer organza ribbon that was adhered with double-sided tape where it was going to be covered then secured the edges with a couple of stitches. What a great tip to use when you’re working with sheer ribbons or embellishments. Ivory Satin Hearts Ribbon and Vertical Stripe Satin Ribbon were the ribbon choices used on this beautiful layout.
Don’t be afraid to combine both feminine & masculine styles or embellishments to get the perfect look for your precious photos. Just have fun with it. Remember there are no rules when crafting. It should be all about your likes & needs.
My hope for you is to be fearless when it comes to your creativity, to try new things & most important to have fun.
Thanks for the visit & have a very creative day.
