Welcome in spring by giving your home a new springtime decoration. This adorable project really caught my eye. I love the vintage look and especially the sentiment. The embellishment pieces framing the photo are the perfect touch. This was created by Linda Thompson. Be sure and check out her blog for more fun projects.
To start this project you will need a 12″ wooden frame with a wood hanging heart.
One corner has been coated in gesso, then distress stain used along with pink and green paints.
Place a few silk flowers on the right corner.
This really cute chipboard bike was covered in gesso, then using spray mists and inks to create all of the shading and blending. Add some moss under the bicycle and place on the left bottom corner of the frame.
The fence chipboard was also covered in gesso. Use some white crackle paint and add a touch here and there. Once it is dry use your distress inks, along with a blending tool so that some areas are covered giving it a rustic look. Place the fence behind the bicycle and heart.
On the right side of the heart have fun embellishing with flowers, bird nest, and a resin bird. Place your sweet sentiment on the inside of the heart.
The base of the frame is a piece of wood that the frame will sit on. This has a lot of texture including paper, texture paste, crackle paint and sprays. Hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration. Now you can get out your supplies and begin building one of your own.
Creativity involves in breaking out of your traditional style. Take a look at your project in a different way, and never hesitate to try something new.
