Today’s inspirational piece is more than just a layout. It truly is a work of art. I’d like to thank Rachelle, author of the Maja Designs Blog. You owe it to yourself to stop by for a visit anytime you need a burst of pure inspiration; you’ll be glad you did.
When I look at this layout, the thing that stands out most to me is the gorgeous photo of the little girl with the beautiful blue eyes. Even though there are so many amazing details, it is obvious that they were built around the photo, to compliment it and not overshadow it.
Rachelle really is the queen of layering. When you have this much detail going on you really have to know how to build your layers without overwhelming your photos. The flowers and berries are from Petaloo and the papers are from the Fika Collection. If you are one of those paper crafters that is passionate about your paper (and who isn’t?) then you are going to love the Maja Designs gorgeous paper collections.
Don’t you just love all the texture and dimension that make this layout so unique? The stitching, the distressed edges on the patterned paper, the lace peeking through here and there, and all the fun inking on the chipboard pieces really bring the layout to life.
I hope you’ve been inspired to break out your favorite supplies and have fun experimenting with different mediums and embellishments. Remember there are no rules and just have fun with your art. If it makes you smile, that’s what matters.
Thanks for the visit and I hope that you have a very creative day!
