These cute little wall pockets are so fun to hang from a cupboard, on a wall, a shelf, and even on your front door. These can also be used for mail or important notes. What a great reminder to always remember it is a good day! This cheerful wall pocket was created by Hilary Kanwischer, one very talented design team member for Authentique.
Here are the instructions on how to make this.
Hilary took chipboard and cut out the “Hanging Bag” die from sizzix. She cut out the wall pocket with chipboard and pattern paper from Authentique’s “Promise” Collection. Then she adhered the paper to the chipboard using a very strong permanent tape, and distressed all of the edges.
If you do not have the die for the Hanging Bag, you can cut backing chipboard 4-3/4″ x 6″, then cut front, 3-3/4″ x 5″. For the angled sides cut 2 pieces of chipboard 1-1/2″ x 5″, them simply diagonally cut from one end to the other. Adhere the front to the sides with hot glue, then adhere your pattern papers.
Use brads to adhere the front of the pocket to the back.
Hilary added a small piece of yellow printed paper to the front, and then she cut out the sentiment die cut and adhered it to blue background. Adhere that to the front of the pocket.
To make the paper rosettes, use the Mini-Rosettes die from Sizzix. You can totally make these without the aid of the die. All you do is cut a piece of pattern paper 1-1/4″ x 12″, score every 1/4″ from one end to the other. Simply accordian fold the whole way down.
Hot glue the ends together. Then cut out a small circle.
Place a dab of hot glue in the center. Simply push the rosette into the center of the glue and hold into place till it is secured. This takes only a few seconds. Then glitter the tops and add a button.
At the top of your wall pocket, adhere some heavy gauge wire, twisting at the ends, and do the same on the other side. This will be the hanger.
At the bottom of the wall pocket adhere a small white wooden picket fence, some green and white crepe paper fringe. Adhere your flowers to the wooden fence. Give it the finish touch by adding some green gingham checked ribbon bows at the top.
Wall pockets are so much fun to make. Give it a try you will love your end result.
A special Thank You to Hilary for sharing this outstanding project.
