Hi friends! With Father’s Day coming up on the 21st, I thought I’d share a fun card for Dad with you today. It’s big and bold, with a manly hammer icon at the top, which makes it perfect for the fix-it guy in your life. To get started, here’s the file for you to download: Tammy-Chenault_Rad-Dad-card
Greens and grays were my go-to colors for this card, with a white background so everything would stand out well. As I got to the embellishing part of the process, I will admit to wondering for a moment if I could get away with adding some kind of bow – perhaps if it was made of burlap or jute? – but decided that would be taking it a bit too far for a masculine card. In the end I decided on twin lines of stitching to keep the emphasis on the hammer icon. To give it an even more manly vibe, I used the kind of thread you use on jeans.
That’s it for this week – we’d love to see your Father’s Day cards! Share your creations in the comments, on our Facebook page, or in our Flickr group. Thanks for stopping by today!
