Hello Scrapbook Expo Friends! Have I ever told you how much I enjoy reading all of your comments on the blog posts? I LOVE it! I especially enjoyed reading the comments from last week’s post. You are all so positive and more than willing to win a mystery box packed by Dave! And tickets to an event, yes please! Such a polite bunch you are!

I have been down and out for a few weeks now with a bad cold that has recently turned into pneumonia so I have not been able to get any scrapbooking done. I have therefore decided to take this week to share more about the Mega Make N Take Extravaganza and the day crops with you. I will also be giving away more passes to a Scrapbook Expo event of your choice. I may even give away more than one set of passes, but you will have to read to the end of the post to find out what my plans are 🙂

At each Scrapbook Expo event, we host a Mega Make N Take Extravaganza. This portion of the event is a series of make and takes all rolled together into a crop. When you arrive at the event, you will receive a full colour booklet showing photographs of all the projects along with instructions. You will also receive all the products you need to complete the make and takes. The first few hours of the event can be used to find a seat, get your supplies set up and if you are interested, work on your own projects. Once these exclusive make and takes begin, prepare to be amazed! When completing these projects, you will learn new techniques as well as get to play with new products. After each project is done, you will often be given a special opportunity to purchase additional products at special show prices.

Here are a few sneak peeks of some of the projects that have been taught at some Mega Make N Take Extravanganza events this year.

Okay, now that you have decided that attending the Mega Make N Take Extravanganza event is an absolute must, let me tell you about the day crops.

Have you ever been to a crop before? Have you been to a crop hosted by Dave and Betty? The two are just not the same! You absolutely have to experience a Scrapbook Expo crop with our fabulous hosts Dave and Betty. These two are so much fun that people who have been to a number of our crops now call themselves Dave’s Divas and Betty’s Babes.

Depending on the location you are attending and which crop, there are a number of different themes for the crops. Here is a listing of some of the themes for this year’s crops:

Just reading the themes makes me smile. They are so creative and fun!

You may be wondering how the theme is incorporated into the event. You can use the theme however you would like. You can dress up in a costume related to the theme. You can decorate your table based on the theme. Games will be played based on the theme. There will be photo ops based on the theme. Prizes will be given out to people who have theme related enthusiasm. But don’t fret. If you are not a dress up, decorate your table, play crazy games kind of cropper, that is fine. There are also lots of people who come to the crops in order to accomplish pages and pages of scrapbooking and are not interested in the other activities. That is okay as well. Dave and Betty do a wonderful job of making the crops fun but also in not taking over the event so that you don’t feel like you can get your crafting done.

Now that you know about the fun, what about the actual crop? When you arrive, you will be given your crop kit based on the choice you made when you registered or what you choose at that moment. You will then get seated at a random table anywhere within the room or if you reserved a table for 4 you will be seated at a table reserved just for you. Once you are seated, take a few minutes to look around. You will see lots of different features. There will be an area for charging cell phones. There will be empty tables around the room that will later have vendors offering special deals to you. You will see the Tool Shed which is filled with fabulous tools that you can go and use. Whether you have used the tool before or want to sample tools that you don’t own, the tool shed is a great place to visit. The tool shed also has colour photo printers in case you want to print a few photos on site.

Let’s not forget the people. Not only are the Scrapbook Expo staff the best around, but we also have fabulous attendees. You can attend a crop on your own, with a friend, or with a group and no matter what, you will meet other wonderful people. Last year, I went to an expo before I had met any of the staff and I was attending the event on my own. I met very friendly and social people on the shopping floor, in classes and at all three crops. I was a bit nervous heading to the crops on my own, but was thrilled that I did as I had a great time and met some lovely people.

    I lived in Georgia for over 13 years and had the opportunity to attend several EXPOS…always looked forward to a fun filled weekend…I moved away almost 7 years ago 🙁 to rural NC and due to unfortunate circumstances have not been back to visit since I left. This year I am planning to visit my best friend that I haven’t seen since I moved away and we planned it around the weekend to attend Scrapbook Expo!!! We are both so excited!!! Cannot wait!!!

    I can’t wait for the Expo in minnesota! I scrapbook almost everyday. Scrapbooking helps me with my Lupus. I work my hands and keep moving to get this and that for my pages.     It would be wonderful to win free passes to an Expo. I just attended the GLMM in Novi, and a friend and I are looking into attending the expo in Akron, OH or Schaumberg IL. Both events are several hours away so it just depends on which date works best. Just maybe we will be able to attend both! So if I have to pick one, I would say the Akron expo since it is the earliest one and then we could hopefully still attend the IL one later this year too!
