Hi, Weekly Scrapper friends, thanks for stopping by for another edition of Inspiration Station. I’m Becki Adams and today I have a fun boy-themed pocket page to share with you. Traditionally, I am not a pocket page scrapbooker BUT I do like to add the occasional pocket page to my album. When I add them to my album they’re usually not a weekly spread like a traditional Project Life spread because I like to create pages that have a theme or are about an event. I titled this spread “sick day” because it’s about my oldest son staying home from school for one day because he was sick. I used the Star Shine collection by Shimelle for American Crafts for this pocket page.
I put my title and journaling on the same 4 x 6″ card. I used my vintage typewriter to type my journaling then cut the journaling into strips and adhered them to the title card.
This card is one of my favorites. I used letter stickers to add my sons’ initials. I frequently add the kids initials to my projects as a fun embellishment.
This card came from a package that coordinates with the Minc machine. I added some silver foil. I thought the sentiment “you are my silver lining” was perfect for this layout. The journaling talks about how my little guy was so excited to have a friend to play with when my oldest son stayed home sick.
I added a sentiment by stapling a 2 x 2″ card to the edge of the photo.
I love adding paper clips to my pocket pages. Just because they don’t completely fit into the pocket doesn’t mean they can’t go on the spread. I leave tags, clips, and tabs out of my pocket pages all the time. If you’re worried about them falling off or getting lost, you can always add a small bit of adhesive to keep them in place.
Thanks for stopping by the Weekly Scrapper blog. I’ll be back next Thursday to share a video with you so we can create together. Have a great weekend!
