Technique Spotlight with Paige Evans: Stitched Doilies & Wreaths

A couple years ago I really got into hand stitching on my layouts and I’m still at it! I LOVE hand stitching on my layouts because of the texture and color it adds. So today I want to share a few pages with stitched doilies/wreaths.

MERMAID HAIR DON’T CARE by Paige Evans

I’ve still got about 20,280,183 doily shapes in my Silhouette library that I haven’t used so… another large doily background it is! I will never get tired of a big and beautiful doily background!

I collaborated with epic stitcher Elizabeth Free on this page! She stitched the gorgeous wreath then I came in with the photo, title, journaling, and little embellishments!

Here I die cut a large rose from patterned paper, adhered it to a pink ombre background with spray adhesive, poked a hole very 1/4″ or so around the design, and then backstitched through the holes using white thread.

After seeing a stitched doily layout by Elizabeth Free (I told you she’s an epic stitcher!) I wanted to make a stitched doily too! Sure, stitching is a time-consuming process, but I’m all about it! It’s therapeutic to me 🙂

If you’ve been bitten by the stitching bug I’d love to see the pages you’ve made!
