How to Use the Fringe and Score Board

Hey everybody welcome to another edition of Inspiration Station with Becki Adams. Today I have a unique technique to share with you using the Fringe and Score board from We R Memory Keepers. This fun tool makes this paper weaving technique a breeze. With this tool, you can score or cut 4 lines with one swipe of the blade. How cool is that? To create the woven background on this layout, I simply cut slits into the teal patterned paper with the Fringe and Score board. Then I used the Fringe and Score board to cut strips of 1/2″ patterned paper. The weaving technique is easy. You simply weave patterned paper in and out of the base strips. This technique is so fun! I remember doing this technique in grade school with strips of construction paper. Now, I have a fun tool to play with so I can use the same technique in my paper crafting and scrapbooking projects. The patterned paper and embellishments on this layout are from the Little By Little collection from Shimelle and American Crafts. Because this is a layout about my son and his grade school field trip, I thought the bright colors and fun paper weaving technique worked perfectly on this project. While the bold woven background is the main embellishment focus on this layout, I wanted to spread color in across the layout to the bottom right corner. I was able to add a few sprinkles of color with some confetti. I used the confetti punch from We R Memory Keepers to punch a few sprinkles of confetti from scraps of patterned paper laying on my desk. Using a strong liquid adhesive is important when adhering confetti. I love how having a few tools on my desk can make creating scrapbooking layouts so fun.
