Hey there, Stamp & Scrapbook Expo friends, Becki here, I’m happy to be back on the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo blog. I’m so excited to share with you a layout that I created using the Boys, Boys, Boys collection from our Keep It Simple brand. I love this collection so much! It will always have a very special place in my heart. The bright primary colors make me smile every time I see them.
The background of this layout is a bold tone on tone blue text. To make the photo, journaling and title pop off of the busy background, I added a large strip of white cardstock. The white cardstock is the perfect way to make the photo stand out. In my opinion, the photo should always be the start of the show.
This layout tells the story of my nephews helping us with a project for the school library. Because this layout is all about building, I fussy cut several Lego pieces from patterned papers. I used these building blocks along the left and right side of the white cardstock. I love it when products from my stash help me tell my story.
There are several layers of patterned paper behind the photo. These papers are scraps from a previous project. I used them behind the photo to make the photo stand out even more from the white background.
Only a few embellishments were needed to complete this layout. I loved the building block stickers above the layout (again, I love an embellishment that supports the story). The final finishing touch was a few dark blue enamel dots from the Boys, Boys, Boys collection.
Thank you for stopping by the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo blog. Make sure you order the Boys, Boys, Boys or you can find it in the Keep It Simple booth at one of our Expo’s. Come again next week for more inspiration.
