What a breath-taking layout. Gabrielle Pollacco is one very talented designer. She always brings so much inspiration to us and unique tips & tricks of scrapbooking. Today she gives us her very own homemade texture paste recipe! This is far beyond what we would call a technique.
Texture Paste Recipe:
- 1 tablespoon White All Purpose School Glue
- 1 Tablespoon White Craft Paint
- Some Water
- 1/4 cup Talcum Powder or (Johnson’s Baby Powder to make it smell good
Instructions:
Combine talcum powder, glue, white paint with disposable chopsticks or plastic spoon in an airtight container. Add water to get it to the consistency you are looking for. You want a nice thick texture much like toothpaste. The mixture will keep perfectly for many months.
Use an old credit card to apply your texture paste to your mask, holding the card at an angle and skimming it over the mask onto the paper.
Here is what the texture design looks like on Gabrielle’s layout. Tip: The paste dries fairly quickly but you can speed up the drying process and keep the paper from buckling by drying it with a blow dryer on a low setting.
Look at her finished project. What a fun and unique technique.
What a stunning layout! A huge Thank You to Gabrielle for sharing this wonderful tip with us. We are so inspired! I can’t wait to try this and I hope you will too! You can find more of her projects on Such A Pretty Mess.
Creativity involves in breaking out of your traditional style. Take a look at your project in a different way, and never hesitate to try something new.
