Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started scrapbooking: Hi there! I’m Stephanie and I have a little bit of an obsession with photography and paper. I randomly stumbled onto Project Life about six years ago and have never looked back! I love being able to preserve and document both the big and small moments of our lives. Time tends to go by way too fast for me, so being able to capture a memory and “freeze” a moment in time is priceless.

Favorite thing to scrap: My absolute favorite thing to scrap are my two sweet children (ages 5 & 4). I love documenting their sweet sayings, quotes, favorites, and more.

What do you love about scrapbooking? To me, scrapbooking is more than just adding a photo to paper. Scrapbooking allows me a space and time to be creative, to reflect on our lives, and reminds me just how amazing life is.

5 fun facts about yourself:
1. I love coffee.
2. I was in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.
3. My favorite book is East of Eden.
4. I love college basketball.
5. I’m a homebody to the core.

Here is the lovely layout that Stephanie made for her spotlight:

MY SWEET GIRL by Stephanie Bryan

I’m a BIG fan of white space and white backgrounds. I’m always on the lookout for white walls and white buildings for my photos and usually gravitate towards a white clean background when starting a layout. Although I like white space, I LOVE pretty pops of color to my background with paper, paint, and embellishments. For this layout above, I started with punched vellum stars and a few punched patterned paper stars. I layered them on my page to create a vertical banner and then sewed them into place. Sewing always adds such a fun texture and dimension to a page!  I then layered my photo and paper layers onto the vellum stars and added in some typed journaling, raised stickers, and wood veneer stars. The wood veneer stars were the perfect finishing touches to the page!

And here are few more creations that Stephanie would love to share:

LAZY SUMMER DAYS by Stephanie Bryan

I think it’s so fun to pull out non-traditional supplies and use them on a page. Here, I used a few different paints to create a background layer for my photo and embellishments.

THE PERFECT DAY by Stephanie Bryan

Another one of my favorite elements (as you can probably already see) is repetition of shapes! Circles, stars, stripes, and squares can be a great building base for a page. For this layout, I started by creating sewn squares from two triangle pieces of patterned paper. Sewing papers together to create a shape is a great way to use up those scraps!

PROJECT LIFE by Stephanie Bryan

Project Life is another memory keeping method that I am absolutely love! For the past four years I’ve created 12 x 12 Project Life albums and I treasure every single photo and memory documented in our books. This year I’ve decided to switch things up and create monthly Project Life albums (see, I just can’t get enough of mini albums)! I love being able to vary my size and papers and I especially love adding in all the extra bits and pieces of our lives (ticket stubs, memorabilia, artwork, and more)!

MINI ALBUMS by Stephanie Bryan

I love getting my creative juices flowing with layouts and paints, but my passion probably lies with mini albums! I love little books full of memories piled high! I’ve accumulated quite a collection over the past few years.

Thanks for joining us today, Stephanie, and letting me share your amazing creations!
