Freebie Friday – Attend a Scrapbook Expo

Admission Tickets

Happy Friday! I don’t know about you, but I am totally ready for May flowers to bloom from these crazy April showers (or thunderstorms) we have been experiencing. I love a little rain shower, but wow, we have had buckets and buckets of rain falling from the sky. I guess I should be happy that it is not snow, though!

Over the last month, I have been working with a number of manufacturers in order to schedule some fabulous giveaways for the next few months. Wow, you guys are going to love what we have in store for you! I am super excited to share what I am learning about these products and collections and to be privileged to have the opportunity to share my experiences and creations with you, and also to host the giveaways. YAY!

As we fly full steam ahead into the 2015 season of Scrapbook Expo events, I thought it would be fun to give away a couple pairs of admission tickets. If you have been to a Scrapbook Expo event before, you know that the shopping, make and takes, workshops, and everything is awesome. If you have not been, I hope you will take my advice and head to an event near you. If there is not an event near you, make a weekend getaway out of it and go have fun and do something wonderful for yourself. I am sure you will not regret it!

Before I dive in and let you know how you can win some admission passes, let me first ask you, are you on Facebook? Did you know that we have set up a Facebook Group for each and every event? Will you be joining us at a Scrapbook Expo event? Will this be your first time attending? Would you like to learn more about the Expos from staff, fellow attendees and vendors?

Join our new Facebook groups. Each location has its own group and you are welcome to join as many of them as you would like. Here is a link to all of the different groups … http://scrapbookexpo.com/show-facebook-groups/

Why join? What happens in the groups?

  • Ask questions about the event, classes, etc.
  • Share tips for getting the most out of the event
  • Learn more about the location, the event, what to bring to the crop, classes, etc.
  • Get advice from attendees who have previously attended the show
  • Make new friends and meet them at the show
  • Share pictures and videos of you and your friends while at the event
  • Share pictures of projects you completed while at the crops or in classes
  • Share photos both before, during and after the event
  • Get access to the pre-show guides, floor plans, make n takes
  • Hear about booth sales from vendors
  • Get inspired!
  • And sometimes, we will have special group only giveaways!

Join one of our Facebook groups today!

While we are talking about giveaways and prizes, did you know that we have a special 3pm drawing on both Friday and Saturday on the show floor? These prizes are worth more than $100 each. Wouldn’t it be nice to end your day of shopping with a prize like that?  But wait, there’s more. On Saturdays, there will be a drawing to give away a Cricut Explore® machine. What? Did you hear that correctly? You sure did! At each and every event, the Scrapbook Expo team gives away a Cricut Explore® machine to one lucky winner. Now that is amazing!

This week I am giving away not one but TWO sets of two admission tickets. If you win this giveaway, you can take yourself to the event twice, or you could take a friend. Doesn’t that sound fun? It sure does! Imagine yourself walking the show floor, vendors to your left, more vendors to your right, beautiful scrapbooking and stamping products as far as the eye can see. I can imagine it already. Hey, if you win two tickets, can I join you? Just kidding. I will be hanging out in Toronto for most of the year but I do hope to attend a Scrapbook Expo later this year. I had a blast when I went last year! You will, too!

To be entered in this week’s giveaway, leave a comment on this post telling me if you like to participate in online challenges? I am hoping to start a weekly challenge on Instagram and/or Pinterest and would like to know if you would enjoy participating with me!

Friends of Scrapbook Expo

Last week’s giveaway was a mystery box from the Scrapbook Expo team.  I always think mystery boxes are fun to receive as you never know what you will find when you open the box! In order to enter the giveaway last week, you had to leave a comment on this blog post, telling us what inspires you. As always, I love reading all the responses and always enjoy how different everyone thinks. The lucky winner of the Scrapbook Expo mystery box is … Cathy Beach!

SBE Mystery Box Winner Cathy Beach

I am always amazed when I look back through photos at some of memories that I have forgotten about but that become so real again by just looking at the photos! Please send your mailing address to Jen Walker and include ‘Scrapbook Expo Mystery Box winner’ in the subject line.

Don’t forget … If you want a chance to win the Scrapbook Expo admission passes, you need to leave a comment on this post telling me if you like to participate in online challenges. Can’t wait for the Expo in Duluth this summer!!! I’m trying to get a big group together this year to go. I used to enter challenges frequently and then had some health issues and challenges (and sadly crafty time in general) had to be put on the back burner. But I still love to see others’ entries!

  2. JBrandt says:

Challenges are great and there results are beautiful, however I just don’t have the time now to keep up with things like that… but I do love to see the work of others!

I love going to the Expo! I spend way too much and as soon as I am done, I have to make one more round in case I miss something. I’ve managed to drag a friend with me each time but I know they are there to feed my addiction. I wonder if my husband asks them to keep me from going too nuts. :). I love challenges too – I have several I try to participate faithfully in. They keep me focus and the inspiration is always great.

    • Renee H says:

I started challenges last summer. Some look intimidating but I love looking at the results. Sadly with school, it is difficult for me to find the time, but when I do I love finding one for inspiration!!

I went to the expo last year and plan on going again I had so much fun. I like to see what others make for the challenges. Not joined many myself.

  56. Marsha M says:

no, I think that challenges are unfair to many. Does the challenge require liking or repining on Pinterest? Not everyone uses it. Does it require reading the blog? Not everyone has time. Are you going to pick the winner based on the challenge? What about people who cant complete it? Too bad, so sad, we only like smart, fast, people who have a lot of time, etc. how about just randomly pick the winner? So everyone has an equal chance? Yes I am crabby, I have seen too many contests that are based on more than luck, to me that amounts to saying, well we only like people who can meet our chalkenge. The rest ofyou, just go away.

    • Jen Walker says:

Hi Marsha. The winners of the tickets are being randomly picked. We randomly pick the winners for our giveaways each and every Friday. We do ask that you leave a comment on the Friday post each week in order to enter the giveaway, and instead of having people post “I want to win.” and “Pick me.” every week, I leave a topic to comment on. I am looking to start some FUN online challenges for people who are interested. There is no pressure to participate and winning the Freebie Friday giveaways have nothing to do with the challenges.

  66. LCJinRoslyn PA says:

I enjoy challenges – it is so much fun to see the different end products from the same parameters. My very favorite was an “ugly paper” challenge – we all submitted a sheet of the ugliest paper in our stash, cut in 6ths. We got back 6 various ugly papers and had to use them on a LO. Some of them really turned out lovely!

I would love to go to the Expo in PA.

I like online challenges! I have never been to a Scrapbook Expo, but I hope to attend my first one within this year!

  75. Madelyn Bush says:

I don’t usually do online challenges as I would have to stop whatever project I am in the middle of, and switch gears.
Sometimes I save the idea from the challenge for later, and just do it for myself, to try something out.

  76. Pat Hamre says:

I love going to the EXPO in Denver, Co and would love to win tickets to it when it’s in town. I always invite who ever is willing to go with me and pay for their ticket. It would be nice to save money and go for free. Hope I win!
